  1. For me spaceplanes are the way to go in my career. Imagine you don't use the revert option and cannot quicksave. Everytime your launch goes wrong, you will lose almost all your funds. And with the amount of funds I get from a contract, the contract is no longer profitable if I blow up 2 or more spacecraft. For most mission, unless spacecraft have the same mass and shape, I have to build a different launcher and because I need to make sure the launcher succeeds, it is oversized. Image you have a spaceplane, which is always the same for every launch, you can count on it as long as you place the center of mass of your payload in the right position (in my case). This speeds up stuff tremendously and I almost never lose launches anymore. Also my launchers are mostly about half of my total cost. So using spaceplanes halves the costs for missions, and in my career money is not that easy to come by. In real world, using the same plane over and over again would introduce a huge benefit as seen with aeroplanes nowadays. We accept crashes and fly everywhere and with everyone. A space plane would introduce this also, of course we first have to get to a viable space plane, and that is the hard part.

  3. Hi! I just read through a lot of issues with the first contract not showing up, same problem here. Can you tell in words what is required? I just checked the debug menu for contracts, Alt+F10. Here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/CDvPllK A lot of PARAMETER [REACHSTATE] are yellow, no idea why, some others are green. Then there is a requirement for an orbit around Moho? This is displayed in the screenshot. Does the contract require a orbit around moho? I am not sure why the contract is not showing up now. Unmet requirement or a bug?   4. Thanks! I would like to report a minor bug for the Luna 16 contract. I accepted it while doing another mission, which was to land a probe om the mun surface. This checked all but one requirement for Luna 16, which is to land back at kerbin. But now that I build my Luna16 vehicle and launch it, I have a vehicle landed at kerbin, and although it is a completely different vehicle the last requirement of Luna 16 is checked and I fullfilled the mission. I am gonna do it anyways but I think the checked requirements should be reset when launching a new vehicle, if have seen this work for other missions. Keep up to good work!

  6. So I was always using this mod, but now that KSP 1.0 has re-entry heating incorporated, what are the differences now? Or why should I now use Deadly Re-entry. I think this is a very burning question for all people previously using Deadly Reentry in older versions of KSP. But yet, at the first post it is not explained and I can not find it anywhere else. So could you expand about this? What physics are added, what simplifications do you use etc? I would suggest you add this in your first post, to explain users what this mod is about. Right now there is no description whatsoever.
  7. I have encoutered this bug again. I am using version 1.3.2.3 of the mod, installed using CKAN. and KSP version 1.0.2. How was it fixed before? It only happens in certain configurations.

  9. Hi thanks for your respond. I figured out what the problem was of the contract not showing up. My reputation is not high enough yet to receive offers for Exceptional contracts. So until a certain reputation, contracts with prestige = exceptional are not showing up. And the contract or Orbit & Recovery is set to exceptional by default, and can not be altered by the KSP contract system. What would be in line with the idea of the SETI contract mod? Doing other contracts until your reputation is high enough? I am not sure how long that would take, or what level of reputation would trigger exceptional contracts.
  10. Hi, I want to use missions from the Mission Controller 2 mod. Somehow they don't show up when using SETI. Is there a setting that let's you play the SETI mod including other contracts? Or does it make changes to the other contracts? I took a look at the datastorage of Mission Controller 2 in my persistent file, and some mission progress was set to true, is this done by the SETI mod? Also my next mission for the SETI contract mod does not show up. I completed the Orbit mission, and in my persistant file setiOrbit is set to 10. Which is a requirement for the next mission OrbitRecovery. But there is another requirement in the SETI-Contracts-Unmanned file, which states: REQUIREMENT { name = Orbit type = Orbit targetBody = Kerbin } I am not sure what this means exactly, but maybe this is the reason the OrbitRecovery contract does not show up? But then what is the problem? I have a satellite orbiting Kerbin, although it does not have power, is that the problem? Edit: I hypereditted a satellite with power and connection, and still not next contract.... second Edit: I think i found the problem, when looking in my archived contracts, the contracts are finished but the sub-objectives stay incomplete. See below in a screenshot where the destination and situation remain incomplete, although i was able to finish the mission. Also my persistent save is saying 'state = incomplete'. I am not sure what caused this bug, but it happens with all my SETI-contracts. And it happens only with SETI-contracts. The strange thing is that my last contract actually depends on the earlier starting-contracts and still showed up. Not sure what to do or what could cause this?
  11. Aha, I also found a mod for that, Contract Reward Modifier, which also lets you set the maximum amount offered. Another question: what are the dependencies for the historical contracts to show up? I now installed the SETI mod, which rebalances a lot. Now I am searching for the Vostok 1 mission, to place my very first satellite into orbit but it never shows up. Also if I recycle the contracts using the Debug Toolbar. So maybe the contracts require a certain part unlocked in the R&D tree? I looked into your files, but I can't find anything about the historic contracts. Or any way to modify this to make it work?
  12. I just wanted to express my gratitude to the developers for this mod. I wanted a new challenge to try out KSP 1.0, just finished the first 3 contracts, and I am hooked! You did an awesome job and keep up to good work! I have one suggestion, the mod sane strategies is nog available for ksp 1.0 yet, is it obsolete now? Also background processing is not yet avialable for 1.0. Is this game breaking or not?
  13. The delta V budget is calculated wrong. I assume it is a hohmann transfer calculation and for going from 80 km to 777 km it gives me now 3513 m/s required dV. That is more then a you would need for a mun landing and return. So i guess an updated messed it up.
  14. Would your data points be available to the public? And what was the scale height you found? I once wrote a script to determine the trajectory of a re-entry, and now that the drag is overhauled, it looks like I am gonna need it. Is this sort of data also available for the other planets? I was also wondering if there are still parts physicsless like in KSP 0.90??
  15. I see people talking that there is no challenge or goal anymore without remote tech. I have played with remotetech a lot in previous versions. Started a new hard career in version 0.90 1,5 month ago. And I found the launch of a communication network of around four identical satellites getting quite boring. Then after you unlocked better dishes, you launch 4 new ones. Even in a hard career they are not really expensive. Right now I could not wait for the updated remotetech for version 1.0, and I started of a new hard career. I get the feeling the only difference is that you do not have a simple communication network in orbit around Kerbin. So you miss out the repetative launches for your commsats. Other also have this feeling? Or where do you get your challenges from with this mod?

  18. That sounds cool. I am now playing a new career but I am not satisfied with the way potential contracts show up. As you designed this mod maybe you also saw these issues and know a way to solve them? Otherwise I would be happy to contribute to consistent system on when what contracts show up. I now see a LOT of tourist-contracts, almost half of all offered contracts is of the tourist type. Tourists that want to fly around the Mun and Minmus, while I can not even bring a simple probe in a Mun flyby, and have never done so. So why is it offering such contracts? I think that only the tourist contract should show up once you have been to a particular trajectory. Also the contracts for testing certain parts dissapeard now that I updated KSP and your mod. Any way to get them back? What system for the appearance for contracts do you now use and how is that working with the system KSP stock uses?

I am not sure what it caused but I find it rather hard to land safely with parachutes now with KSP 1.0. when my velocity gets under 400 m/s and i open the parachute, i am almost near the ground already and the parachutes take to long to fully open, so i will land very rough. Happened already a few times now. Never experienced this with Ferram and KSP 0.9. At what velocities will the parachutes be undeployable? Or what governs whether or not the parachute will break when opened?
  20. I just started a new career with KCT, i am using it mainly to make sure simulations cost money. However i encoutered a major bug. I can not launch anything anymore in the career mode. When i press the launch button and the flight window is finished loading, KCT sends me a message that i can now simulate orbits around the sun, and my screen is totally black, also my navball is empty. I appear to be in the middle of the Kerbol system, which is Kerbol itself of course. So no one encoutered this before with KSP 1.0? I just removed KCT and now everything seems to be working fine but I really want to add the realism of costly simulations. Also to test a re-entry vehicle, i would need hyperedit or something to fix it myself.
  21. Couple of questions here, just started with this mod in my career for KSP 1.0. I think the real life missions are awesome but still have some questions. By default, in the settings menu, MCE satellite contracts and MCE Orbital period satellite contracts are turned off. What kind of contracts are these? And are the stock satellite contracts still showing up or also turned off by this setting? Then i was long searching for a simulation option, there seems to be one in the form of a red button, which now costs me 1000 funds. How is this determined, or how does this function work? I also use kerbal construction time for this purpose, but only for the simulation. Thanks and keep up to good work!
  22. Having a very fun time with this mod! But now that i explored Mun and Duna, contracts to build bases pop up. But since when is building a planetary base at Duna a trivial thing? Apart from the mun, i did not launch manned missions, but bringing a new satellite into an orbit around Kerbin has a higher prestige than building planetary bases. This looks odd to me. Any reason behind this? Or a way to modify this for my own game?
