  1. So maybe we wouldn't interact with them, but I'd be down for say a VERY, VERY random event (like 1 in 10,000) that a odd object with irregular blinking pulses comes into view, does a 90 degree insta-turn and vanishes THAT would be really cool With out sounding like too much of a crackpot, I've seen something in the sky I couldn't explain about a year ago while on vacation in Siesta Key, Florida. Was on the beach at 10pm with my little brother and suddenly a single, bright incandescent red light was suddenly in the sky, and we observed it moving and have irregular blinking pluses, getting dimmer and brighter, and it eventually started moving upwards like an exponential function, and we watched it literately disappear in the sky. If anyone's interest is peeked, take a look at my report I sent to MUFON: http://www.ufostalker.com/ufostalker/UFO+Sighting+in+Siesta+Key+Florida+United+States+on+April+3rd+2015/64427 After I sent the report online, I looked other reports submitted on ufostalker in the area, and pretty much all of them in the area describe orbs of orange/red in the area. 2 of them described my sighting to the letter, around the same time of night and upon just looking at my report for the first time in many many months, I just saw I have a single comment on my sighting from 5 months ago from someone saying they saw the same exact thing, take a look at it from the link Yep im that guy right now but I expletive you not, look up at the sky more often, and you'll see things that behave like no plane or satellite you've seen before. We spend so much time looking in front of us and too little time looking up. /crackpot, I dont know why i've exposed my self like this I've kept this to my self most of the time since the event. I blame this thread But yea I'd be down for a random event
  2. if at the very least they would allow for placing struts in space, id be a happy camper. That's the only thing I use KIS/KAS for
  3. Alright so I'm not saying we need a cockpit that specifically a "fighter jet" cockpit, but Id like to see one that has a glass dome that opens and closes on a hinge so it looks really cool when they get out of the craft
  4. Yo Snark, I just want to say something real quick; you just made a response to someone named QPDO in the "how long do bugs generally go unfixed for" thread. The guy basically started ranting how any bugs are unacceptable in a game.

I wanted to commend you for taking the time to write out a non-antagonistic and informative response to his statement. There are not many people who would look at his statement, and say anything other then condemn him for being uninformed and stupid. You however were able to explain in a very candid way how things actually are in the software development industry. I did not agree with QPDO's statement, but could understand his frustration with bugs as I have had my own. Reading your response was informative for me also and I'd like to thank you for being a decent human being. As silly as it sounds since this has come about by a mundane post on some internet form, I felt a need to let you know all this. I wish there were more decent people in this world who would not return anger with more anger.

    You are noticed good sir

  5. I use the second largest size wheels on a mobile transportation lab on Duna; I've been able to travel to all bio's within a reasonable amount of time and at speeds no greater then 33m/s, and averaging about 24m/s. You just need to make sure your rover is stable, has either a low CoM or spread out wheels, and you really should use the black med. size wheels, they have the highest speed rating and can handle most hard bumps and light-to-moderate "dukes of hazard" style air times I quite enjoy the trecks; its a break from orbital mechanics and nice when you can view the trip from a forward facing Copula Pod
  6. Quick question; do I need an ore tank to use the ISRU, or can I get by with just a drill and ISRU? If I cant, does the drill have to be attached to the ore tank?
  7. http://plays.tv/video/56e4ffdeb52c765985/calling-it-close?from=user Busy having close encounters; this is awesome
  8. we already have a mod(s) for this, KIS and KAS. it allows you to place struts and fuel lines in space and send parts up in containers to build things. You should check it out in the add ons section library It would be nice to see it stock, especially the aspect of placing struts in space, but this is in the mod relm for now.
  9. this. But they know, or should know. And most likely are working on it. Unity 5 was a big stepping stone; i hope.
  10. I've had a computer that should be more then capable of running KSP at max settings, no upgrades needed here (for KSP) Windows 10 64bit i5 4690k OC to 4.5 2x HD6950's crossfired 480gb SSD 8gb RAM I'm gravy. Its the game that being a turkey during high part counts (no ways directed at Dr. Turkey) I can't wait for multi-core processing. Its gotten to the point where I'm trying to not get my hopes too high. Getting a new 800$ GPU is not really going to help out this game. Its more CPU oriented, so yea. The 980ti is my wishlist, but in no way specifically for KSP. The only thing that will give significant performance increase will be a restructuring of how the workload is distributed on the CPU cores. I'd be willing to bet the CPU's better then the i5 4690k get very minimal performance gaines over mine in terms of fps during similar loads, on KSP. Video editing and super fancy other things I have no idea about probably a different story, but if that machine was built just for KSP you spent WAYYYY toooo much moneh. Just my 2 cents, ill be honest though I will say im jealous, a 6700k and 980ti are practically on everyone's wishlist. For the record, when viewing my spacestation with 900 parts and just under 1k tons (3 different ships docked with it), I get between 5 and 10 fps with the physics delta time set to .02, lowest setting.
  11. What an informative response! thank you Snark First to clear up the confusion: I did already start the mission and land on Eloo, and end up in the situation of the aforementioned solar orbit, but I also did a quicksave just before I started the mission where the main ship and its connected modules are docked with my spacestation in kerbin orbit, So I can chose to do either one of your options; start over or do rescue mission. I think to solve the issue at hand, I will try to do a rescue mission where I will abandon the rescue ship, and use the rescue ship to transfer a good amount of fuel to the Eloo mothership. I could abandon the ship and make my life easier, but I have 24million$ and in addition to fancying bringing the ship back, Id like to test how much further past minmus I can bring it down. So I guess what I'm asking is how can I efficiently and practically use multiple gravity assists on my next mission to Eloo? I know how to do maneuvers with out mechjeb but I do like the time mechjeb saves me when planning things; is there a way to have mechjeb plan multiple gravity assist maneuvers for me? And I'd love to hear all your further explanations
  12. So long story short ive been slaving over a new ship that will tug a lander and extra fuel to Eloo, then come back with the "important" part of the lander, drop it off in a kerbin orbit to be retrieved, and then either set up the tug to be re-used or land it in the water near KSC. Ive gotten to the point coming back from Eloo, but I underestimated how much aerobraking it could take. This is the ship on way to Eloo: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9329qazijte7gid/20160309174615_1.jpg?dl=0 After Eloo, it drops the extra fuel tank on the back of it, and only keeps the important crew modal and science stuff from the lander. It has a med. sized heat shield in the center, and 3 small heat shields around the 3 "pontoons" going around the vessel. When coming in directly from Eloo, my velocity is about 5.5km per second, and even with the heat shielding I end up losing the pontoons and wings, which makes my center fuselage tilt out of the med. heat shields protection and nothing survives. I think the best way to make my craft work the way I want it to is to both add mining capability of the Eloo lander so I can refuel my ship as much as I can, and then do multiple gravity assists to get my craft slowed down enough to do an aerocapture. Can someone explain to me how to best do this? I understand the concept, but when It comes to implementation I dont really know where to start; currently where i am is i came to a 67km perapsis of kerbin and survived (reached Mach 21.something lol) and now my solar orbits apoapsis is close to Duna and my perapsis is between Kerbin and Eve. I have 500dv left lol, I was planning on surviving a Kerbin aerobrake. What should I do
  13. This is another area where people are going to differ, and Squad knows this. You dont want to bother with the IVA's and internal views, but for me I like having the option to immerse myself in ascetics of it all. Both viewpoints are fine, but Squad has to try and find a middle ground between this and many other perspectives of game-play. I think the best thing everyone would want is an increase in performance. But again that is just one facet of many You should copy and put it in the add-on request section for best results
  14. The transparent Pods is only for KSP version 0.9 currently if your in 1.05 and want to go back just to use that mod, you will break alot of your crafts since atmosphere was changed in 1.0 or 1.05; not worth it for me
  15. was watching Das' stream when he revealed this, and I was all like But I must have missed the part when he said, apparently, "you cant move around inside". If you can't then truly, what is the point of this? If we get this, with no kerbs moving around inside, and we still dont have transparent windows, again which others and i have suggested many-a-time and people have supported, the ONLY thing keeping me excited for this update is multicore support.
  16. yes, I have suggested this many-a-time in suggestions
  17. Cool so it will work fine, but how does set up correctly? is it done in the options menu in game or do i have to play around with the files on my drive? where is the settings file id be looking for located?
  18. So with the console release coming out before E3, which will need to make full use of the xbox 1 controller, I'm wondering if that will be brought along to the PC version also. I've been with Kerbal on the PC for years, and have no real qualms with the keyboard and mouse setup, but it would be nice to have the freedom to switch between the 2 and have full functionality out of both. Sometimes i'm just in a controller mood I guess lol Does the PC version already have native controller support? And for the record I'd be attempting to use an Xbox 360 controller Also like to point out the HYPE OF INTERNAL STRUCTURAL VIEWS IN 1.1 CONFIRMED WOOO
  19. OMG INTERNAL VIEWS OF SHIP STRUCTURE JUST CONFIRMED FOR 1.1 ON DAZVALDEZ TWICH
  20. Extremely important information: soooo glad I stumbled upon this.
