Science totals have vanished?!
egoego replied to inopinatus's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
160% UI scale is the number where the UI is still all there for me. Anything higher and stuff starts to disappear/fall apart. -
What is your most facepalm-worthy moment regarding KSP?
egoego replied to MaverickSawyer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I lost Valentina, when she returned from the worlds first orbit around Kerbin, because I made my suborbital rocket bigger, but did not add additional parachutes, so she crashed. When I later send the first kerbaled mission to the Mün, I lost Jeb, Bob and Bill on return, because I used the small radial prachutes, which I forgot where drag chutes, not propper chutes, so they crashed. I hate parachutes. -
I actually found the old variants in the VAB. When you use the advance filters (e.g. for cross section diameter) the old variant will show up too. I was able to stick it to a rocket, but I did not yet test how it will look when I launch a rocket with such an old styled engine.

VAB DeltaV display, can not choose body
egoego replied to egoego's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
@4x4cheesecake I did all this before reporting this problem. @Starhawk Sorry about the spam, I will try to remember this for the next time. @OHara The workaround from the bug seems to work. Thanks. -
VAB DeltaV display, can not choose body
egoego replied to egoego's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
- moderator edit - Above is the log of me starting a new game, going directly into the VAB, opening the DeltaVApp, trying to chaning the body (unsuccessfull) and then exiting the game the way I entered it. -
I can not change the body in the new DeltaV tool in the VAB. When I try to open the body list by clicking on the Kerbin button or the arrow right next to it first after entering the VAB the list will show up for a split second but the tool will close immediately. When I click that button again (after reopening the DeltaV tool) the tool stays open, but the body list doesn't appear. KSP 1.6.1 (english) Windows 10 64bit Steam installation

How to stop plane falling onto runway/ from hanger
egoego replied to Boris Kerball's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Do you have the option "Ease in Gravity" enabled in the general settings? This effects how hard ships/planes are pulled down when set on the launchpad/runway. -
How to use maneuver nodes?
egoego replied to White-Gandalf's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
What do you mean by "flying mode"? You can only use maneuver nodes for vessels that you are currently "flying". You can't edit or use maneuver nodes from the tracking station. -
For those who where looking for some details on graphics settings here is a reddit thread that gives some details on those: https://www.reddit.com/r/KerbalSpaceProgram/comments/6cv7r8/optimise_your_ksp_experience/

It could be more dV efficient to do the contracts the other way around.

You Will Not Go To Space Today - Post your fails here!
egoego replied to Mastodon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Good Heavens, are you sure you used enough Girders? -
This should have been in the Gameplay questions section. In career mode you have to upgrade your buildings to unlock new abilities. To be able to use Maneuver Nodes you need to upgrade your Tracking Station.
-
As @Streetwind said, design something that is usefull for you. In your early career you don't have very powerfull antennas, so if you put your relays in KEO your probes in LKO might not reach them unless they carry powerfull or plentifull antennas.

How do I interpret Kerbnet functions?
egoego replied to Ncog Nito's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The question mark shows you anomalies (Eastereggs and stuff like that). I am not aware of an anomaly on the crawlway, but your picture shows your are not quite there yet (it could be the black obelisk that is visible just north of the KSC). -
Nice job. Thanks for doing this. I didn't know forum posts are not limited in size on this board. There is nothing wrong with liking @Cunjo Carl's post.

are rescue missions infinite?
egoego replied to tab's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Doesn't seem to be true, or has a threshold before it kicks in. Only 8 out of 32 Kerbals I currently have are scientists and my current rescue missions are for 1 pilot and 2 engineers. -
Revision on launch clamps
egoego replied to lttito's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yes for extending the arms (could maybe be done with tweakables). -
As long as you can generate power (solar panel) you can always send science. All you have to do is to uncheck "Require complete" (or something like that) in the antenna settings. The antenna will then pause transmitting until enough power is available again and then automatically continue sending. Be carefull not to do that with probes that you need to control during that time as this will empty your batteries and turn off your probe until the science is sent.

It is one of the top threads in the Gameplay -> Tutorial subforum: It can also be found in the ksp wiki and by googleing for "ksp dv map"

Sorting of lists. I want to sort (and filter) all kinds of lists in KSP. Sort (and filter) vessel list in tracking station by: Name, MET, time to next Maneuver node, SOI, Type Sort (and filter) Kerbal list in Astronaut building by: Name, Profession, XP, Rank, Vessel they are on, MET (last two for the assigned tab). Sort (and filter) Part list (in VAB / SPH) by: Name, price, weight In general I want more sorting (and a bit more filtering) in all lists in KSP. Please.

Multiple engine specific impulse math
egoego replied to Esoteric106's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just wanted to add that those formulas are actually in the wiki: http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Specific_impulse#Multiple_engines (the formula may look difficult if you have no mathematic background)
