  1. They're still buggy but I've released a small cfg tweak to make rover wheels 3 times tougher. http://spacedock.info/profile/Xyphos - the mod is called "Tough Love" feel free to explore the other tweaks I've released.
  2. bah, I hate licenses. public domain is where all the creativity is at. thanks for the reminder, I updated the OP
  3. tis all good, homie, we all have our bad days. smile, it's almost over.
  4. how was that rude? it was a simple question. geez, calm down.
  5. is that a rule? I don't think I read that one.
  6. I've released 2 more small cfg tweaks to SpaceDock. Here's my SpaceDock profile: http://spacedock.info/profile/Xyphos Deflatable Heat Shield - This small cfg tweak allows the stock inflatable heat shield to be deflated and reused. - Licensed Public Domain http://spacedock.info/mod/918/Deflatable Heat Shield Tough Love - This small cfg tweak makes stock rover wheels 3 times tougher. If you're tired of the stock rover wheels breaking every time it rolls over a pebble, then you'll love this mod! - Licensed Public Domain http://spacedock.info/mod/919/Tough Love
  7. I use the Mk2 cockpit alot because I use RasterPropMonitor. I just wish said mod would add support for the inline Mk2 Cockpit, there's a console screen in the rear seat that the co-pilot can actually use.
  8. in Kerbal Space Program, you don't get to succeed, only get better each time you play.
  9. it depends on the payload and purpose. if transporting a kerbal or three, to anywhere (except Eve or Tylo) Mk1 SSTO. (maybe even an SSTA) if I'm launching a simple probe or comsat, Mk2 SSTO. if I'm launching modules for a space station, Mk3 SSTO, unless it's too heavy, then I'll do a Mk3 TSTO. Rarely will I ever launch a Rocket, that's too inefficient for my tastes.
  10. Gilly is a captured asteroid, and the smallest "moon" in the system. to answer the OP's question, since it has some gravity, I believe it to be a class G asteroid.

    Mk3 SSTA

It's all stock, the central is a Rhino. I'll post a video later, you'll get to see it in action soon.

    Mk3 SSTA

Indeed. the "A" stands for "Anywhere" or "Asteroid" - it's an acronym not recognized by the forums, I just naturally assumed it would define it for me. anyway, this vessel is a Single-Stage-To-Asteroid, it flies out past Kerbin's SOI and with 2500+ dV left in the tank to intercept interplanetary asteroids and redirect them for lithobraking manuvers in Kerbin's atmosphere. (the redirect maneuver is done in interplanetary space, where the dV requirement is significantly less than what it would take to redirect inside Kerbins' SOI)

    Mk3 SSTA

My very first Mk3 SSTA cruising above Kerbin's clouds after re-entry, bringing the crew back home safe and sound after a voyage around interplanetary space, while testing the vessel's capabilities. I thought the scenery was beautiful so I made it my desktop wallpaper.
  14. this wasn't a question, it was just a general thread to show off a failed mission, and to raise awareness of a possible new "feature" even if this was a question, it wouldn't matter, the mission failed and cannot be repeated.
  15. who needs a krakken drive when you can simply build a rocket-powered centrifuge and sling kerbals to distant objects? EVA propellent makes excellent course-corrections
  16. you could have just landed an engineer on it, KAS a winch and skycrane'd it as the kerbal left the mun, released it, and try the landing again, but I suppose the use of infernal robotics was a great challenge, I find them too wobbly and unstable to actually use.
  17. so I caught a class E asteroid outside of kerbin's SOI and just as I was about to refuel the vessel for the orbital redirect maneuver, the resource converter malfunctioned and I don't know why. it seems to be docking related, as the mining module was stowed in a cargobay during launch and docked to the nose in orbit. changing to space center and back to the vessel didn't fix it, eva and reboarding didn't fix it, reloading the game didn't fix it either, it seems to be a permenent issue. needless to say, the mission failed because of this bug feature. after failing the asteroid redirect mission, I decided to launch a test vessel to see if the converter was modified without my knowledge but here it is on the runway, as normal. ARRRRRRRG! I'm so.... sooo.... sooo PEEVED! (oh my, please excuse my language) (bonus points to whoever gets reference)
  18. One time, my manned space probe launcher SSTO took off and flew without it's crew; I didn't realize it until after the probe was released and I couldn't de-orbit the spaceplane; it was also the first time I had to send up an emergency rescue mission, to rescue a vessel instead of a Kerbal.
  19. ok, I can't seem to get the code to work? I've compiled the DLL and copied it to KSP, module manager loads it, but I can't get the KSPField to show in the editor context menu @PART[*]:HAS[ModuleDockingNode]:AFTER { @MODULE { name = SnapDock } } namespace SnapDock { public class SnapDock : PartModule { [KSPField(guiName = "Angle Snap", guiFormat = "N0", guiUnits = "°", isPersistant = true, guiActive = true, guiActiveEditor = true)] [UI_FloatEdit(scene = UI_Scene.All, minValue = 0, maxValue = 180, incrementSmall = 1, incrementLarge = 5, incrementSlide = 5)] public int AngleSnap = 5;
  20. if I make an add-on "ModuleSnapDock" and use Module Manager to add it to all docking ports, how, in C# would I obtain the DockingPort object from inside the code in order to access and manipulate it's variables, properties and methods?
  21. wow. I haven't used FRAPS since WinXP - I didn't know people still used it.
  22. I don't overthink names, I just call it what it is, most of which I cannot mention on the forums due to the profanity rule.
  23. Still, should be some sort of sticky with that link...
