  1. I'd say innovative than cheaty, it works in stock and technically staging a fairing is more or less opening a cargo bay... permanently. Note to SHiftER; Use fairings, they're there for a reason.
  2. Quite nice My suggestion is to just eliminate the excess space in the triangles, by scaling it down a bit Note to SHiftER; Excess space, we already have that up there.
  3. Oh, well I sure will be once I get the application accepted
  4. Quite so! Open Broadcasting Software is also the way to go, plus its free is the big factor. You finally are making concepts for a shuttle? That's exciting to hear Would be pending for your designs, yes
  5. Kraken inbound! KRAKEN INBOUND!! KRAKEN INBO----*****_-__--
  6. You know... the empty tanks might just work Okay, design plan : You can base off the dozens of mk3 SSTO Orange tank lifters, and all you need is an LV-N to have that efficiency kick, with empty tanks I'm sure there's a chance you can get an SSTO to minimus there is a considerable difference between a full and an empty tanks About the really big one, well yes the rigidity and part count would be a problem. I'm pretty sure, with empty tanks, you won't need much of a large SSTO Note to SHiftER; Of course! Empty tanks!
  7. It's a wonderful idea I would most no-doubt say that most would want you to build AND fly It's going to be quite the utility in the forums, especially for someone who nows his stuff well and would be willing to share it on the community base Weekly vidoes, quite You can try with basics, then advanced, then aesthetics, then mix and match, then blast off from there Capturing software, yes. I find a switch in FRAPS with Dxtory, quite effective and less FPS crunching than FRAPS, plus you get a handful of other options that could optimise and adapt to your PC. There is no reason to quite compete, just post a link of your video in the forums instead of typing out a thorough barrage of, slightly-used words, I'm sure many of us at the SSTO page, or any other pages, would find the media useful to the bone Note to SHiftER; If you wouldn't have been so lazy, you could have done these things...
  8. Name: SHiftER2O Job: Script Writer Why do you want to do this job: It's in demand, and I have experience. Previous Work: Sparrowhawk Aeronautics Replica Employee, Blackbird Aviation CEO, Reviewing the script, I can see it needs a lot of... a lot of work. First off, that was just the plot overview, there's no details inserted on executing a proper scene-by-scene action. And here's the flaw: You're adding details to a plot overview, a plot overview is supposed to be simple and straight to the point. We'll need script writers who can separate and extract the juicy scenes in the plot over view and expound on them more in their own basis. We'll need revisions of some parts, proper words to describe certain scenes, and proper divisions in plot details so as not to have this spaghetti mess of a plot overboard that switch between super-microscopic-detailed and ultra-philosophical vague. The melting pot of ideas though, I find quite attractive. The ideas are already there, all we need is an organizer, and we'll be set. And in the first place, we need to determine whether or not the plot is a oneshot or an arc. If you're planning to make a film that's, let's say one that's standalone, it's best to have a plot that's quite simple but having a wide potential to be expanded over time. There are many ways to do this, and with the abundance of ideas I doubt if we'd ever run out. Note to SHiftER; Looks like hanging out with the linguistics paid off in a slight...
  9. Alright Well, first of all, the blue border like previous, although yours is less brighter and it blends in a tad more I recommend you add another border layer, except a darker shade of blue and thinner perhaps The red stripes might do better if they didn't abruptly end, and maybe a little more smoother but if the rough bumbpy texture is part of your design, then its green light in sense Minimalist on planets, hmm. The planets would be better off having a smoother texture on the sides, and you could basically accomplish their designs by just using various sizes of circle brushes Minimalist as it is, you can try scale up the planets to fill in the dead space of black in between, maybe center the planet triad a bit, or you could add a space background in the black Now the problem is the dead space that the red stripes create .. . not sure how to approach that. The text has room for being enlarged. You can experiment with other fonts and see what else can suite you Note to SHiftER; Your opinion isn't advice...
  10. Great work! Mind to accept some suggestions? Are you going for a minimalist nature in design of your logo?
  11. Oooooh, now that I see it more, it actually fits and try adding a milky-way background, yes? Note to SHiftER; Skyboxes are quite...
  12. Hmm, I would change the bright blue border-circle and the font... Shift Kerbin to the center, and the mun and Duna behind and both in the sides, emphasis on kerbin would be splendid So you can have multiple versions of this, if you put Duna on the center, it can be the logo bearer for a duna mission, same goes with the mun... Note to SHiftER; Too much time on web development...
  13. Hmmm, that much load to minimus, and you're better off with a rocket, the best an SSTO designed to haul tanks can do is in LKO, or so from designs I've seen. There are others such as this that have unlimited range in theory, so best make the best of both worlds for them if you want your SSTO Note to SHiftER; Of course, there are SSTOs with a range to minimus, just not ones that can haul orange tanks ....
  14. Sigh, sadly that seems to be the limiting factor right now. and the hard part is how struts cause heck-tons of drag, and if a single strut is asymmetrical, the whole aircraft flips over and does fireworks At least I got a positive note I was so pumped with trying this, but all hope drained the moment it loaded Combine everything, and you can come up with... this! Note to SHiftER; Except maybe not, just needs more persistence.
  15. Speaking of nosecones... Alternative nosecone designs! And body fuselage techniques ! Combine everything, and you can come up with... this! Note to SHiftER; Now... to make it fly.
  16. If anyone's interested, there's a C-5 Galaxy that needs fixing... Note to SHiftER; The part count makes it nearly impossible to look for the little flaws that made the design a failure...
  17. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Jon144 again. Note to SHiftER; Let the forums have its way, I'll find another...
  18. Hello! Mind expanding on your report? We'd be happy to help What direction is it shifting to? What control forces are stiff to maneuver? Did you follow the instructions? Note to SHiftER; We can try sorting this out
  19. Excellent Now, another suggestion is to make the engine mounts smaller, to reduce drag and wobbliness Closer to the wing make the engines more rigid, theoretically Now, I'm just giving opinions, but the tail part, is quite small in proportion to the craft, it kinda sets me off. That's just me opinion though I could do the tail assembly, but I'm not in that place to do so Reminds me of the B-52 I never finished .. Note to SHiftER; It would probably work if you just made it work.
  20. A little to party for, effectiveness? Well it gets the job done, although there are less party alternatives Here's a stretch; You're using too much engines and fuel, it goes like - need more thrust - need more engines - need more fuel, and that's how most problems start with large lifter designs. Pretty sure that much of a powerplant can lift something more than just an orange tank, but no space so .. There is much room for improvement, mainly decreasing the powerplant and engines, which removes excess wait in the process, the wings may as well be causing much drag to be practical, balance the powerplant, the fuel levels, and the lit ratio and you're good to do Note to SHiftER, it's always fun to diagnose other people's crafts
  21. Actually, the minimum struts required to joint-reinforce something is... two You can also use the fuel fuselages as structural parts, just empty the excess fuel Hmm, I may get the feeling that . .. But I'm not in the place to say that yet Will be waiting for this surprise of yours
  22. Don't worry Mr Banana All you have to do is re-do the design in the new suited aerodynamics and all this hassle bassle can be avoids-voids New version -> New concepts - New things to ponder about :3
  23. What makes it poop out FPS? From the looks of it, maybe you're not just attaching one fuselage bit to make it longer? Well you are correct
