I meant if your engines auto-adjust their position to align the center of thrust with the center of mass, i was thinking to something like the old mod from Dtobi, the "klocheed martian SSE", his engines have high range gimbal and they help a lot into designing something that don't flip over like a crazy horse, after you jettisoned the boosters and burned some fuel the Com shifts a lot, that's why it's very difficult to build a shuttle with stock parts, their gimbal is not enough. For the decoupler i meant the one that holds the orbiter and the tank together, it's not totally needed, something like the stock TT-70 but more proportionate to the scale of the tank, just for aesthetics I hope i explained myself despite my difficulty with english

[WIP][1.0.2] Mk2 SR-71 - FantomWorks
Stocchinet replied to FreddyPhantom's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Great cockpit man, one of the most beatiful around, a little suggestion, what about adding some wing strake part? something to attach to de side of the mk2 cross section to make it more sharp, i've seen something similar in the "mk2 expansion" mod, it would be great having something that fit with your cockpit -

My engines gimbals won't work, it's due to that missing file you mentioned? -
[1.12.x] Mk2 Expansion v1.9.1 [update 10/5/21]
Stocchinet replied to SuicidalInsanity's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This mod is really nice, so many new design possibilities, that twisted adapter it's what i always wanted and never been able to find. It still needs some work but it's very promising, good work man!- 1,520 replies

[1.1.x] Space Shuttle Engines (2016-07-03)
Stocchinet replied to sarbian's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Good, i'm really looking forward to it -
Too bad that the boosters do not cost 42 too, i always spend a sh*tload of funds on them, and we know that they are the second answer to everything...

Some time ago i was planning to do the same thing, the only solution i was able to put togheter was to place the entire joystick on a "sliding" chassis bonded with a rotary potentiometer to simulate a 4°axis, as soon as i can i'll post to you some more explanatory drawnings, warn: it requires some DIY skills!

Oh god, the kerbal live stage its glorious, good work!

Intresting, but what about intakes? how many do i need in an aircraft with four rapier for example? Air hogging is a thing of the past or slamming a lot of intakes on a craft still works?

Seven years? Nasa don't use time warp?

Has anyone got a spaceplane in orbit yet?
Stocchinet replied to Redshift OTF's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I don't know if my method it's actually efficent, i tought that using much air while it's possible it's the trick, i'll investigate more, maybe i can reduce the number of engines.... -
Has anyone got a spaceplane in orbit yet?
Stocchinet replied to Redshift OTF's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Here's my ascent profile (if it can be useful): -full throttle picthcing 45° till i reach mach1 -trhottle back to 50% stabilizing velocity to 400m/s -at 10km gently pitch down to 20° -at 15km full trhottle again hitting mach 3 just before 20km -at 20 km switch 2 rapiers to LFO (my craft has four of it) -squeeze all the remaining air with the other two and then switch to LFO -SPACE!!! With this configuration i can avoid to burn up, but around 20km it gets very scary with all those flames:kiss: -
Has anyone got a spaceplane in orbit yet?
Stocchinet replied to Redshift OTF's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Here's my attempt: It can reach 100km round orbit with about 500dv reamaining (if the ascent path it's done properly), docking port and a small cargo bay included, someone tell me if all those precoolers are actually needed.... -
I think the real issue is the lack of structural type big-s wings, we have standard delta wing and various structural wings to combine with, but the new Big-s ones only have the delta type, alone is too small to build a Shuttle-alike craft or anything quite big, i would be really good to have a complete set of it...
