  1. 9/10 for spookiness, don't know if it is a rocket or giant claw
  2. Sneak preview 2! Also on Laythe, using Fengist's beautiful Maritime Pack! Everything should be ready, time to make some progress
  3. Little sneak preview! I am unfortunately very busy, so it will take me maby up untill after the 1.1 release. I'll keep a 1.0.4 copy and the save file to finish it though.
  4. Of course could Kerbals actually die, however due to Kerbins athmosphere the terminal velocity of a falling Kerbal is not enough to vaporize him. If you'd like you could try the same thing at Tylo with probably a deadly ending
  5. Hmmm, Fengist, as far as I've seen nobody has used your Maritime pack yet to circumnavigate Laythe or Kerbin... As I don't want to start any big missions anymore untill 1.1 releases, I will download your Pack and if I feel comfortable enough I'll completely circumnavigate Laythe using it. By the way, thanks for fixing the Eeloo Badge
  6. Thanks Fengist, by the way, do you know you misspelled Eeloo?
  7. If this would work I could finally be less strict about part count on my bigS colony ships on my last hangar ship I had to leave holes in the hangar as that would save me around 80 parts, turned out to be quite pretty though
  8. If you don't have much time try driving on landing gear with some small thrusters (maybe good modification if your craft breaks again) To everyone trying Eeloo good luck and as I finished it like 1.5 weeks ago I have some information: don't quicksave while in air if it is a small hop, before the physics load you will be 2 meters deep and then ejected violently; furthermore I had 8 checkpoints of 165.7 km, so multiply 165.7 by 8 and you will know how far you have to drive, it took me like 24 hours
  9. are you outside the orbit of Duna, they will have almost no output then
  10. Also, if you just slap on a probe core, you can take a scientist and fly with SAS
  11. the idea is to have a part (probably probe core) which keeps the craft loaded, even when not active. It could be used for example to keep boosters loaded while falling back to Kerbin, so you could attach parachutes and recover them later (which would be handy in career). But also in sandbox you could do some cool things with it. Do give it an option to turn it off to prevent lag without having to terminate the craft. I don't know if it is possible at all, but that is why it is a suggestion
  12. Completed Circumnavigating Eeloo: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/129596-Elcano-Challenge-on-Eeloo?p=2107688#post2107688 I'll check back later for the badge Fengist, for now enjoy yourself modding
  13. If you are really bored you could make a BigS Colony ship and colonize a planet of choice
  14. Not bad, although I would indeed ease out on the references like Yukon said: leave out Kerman etc. My experience regarding this: I once wrote a story as essay for Dutch classes based on FTL: Faster Than Light and KSP and got the comment I was too creative -.- so hopefully your teacher appriciates it more
  15. New Chapters added to the OP! Our Orange Heroes are now halfway!
  16. they cool the parts they are attached to and possibly even attract the heat from some parts further. Radiation isn't a thing in KSP (yet?)
  17. Uhm, I don't use those data mods and don't know how to read them, but I can give some advise: Try to get into a 70 km x 70 km orbit then don't decouple and use the engines to burn retrograde whenever fire shows up, do this untill no fuel is left and then pray.
  18. Is this to brag about your pc?
  19. Hopefully you can find some usefull tips: - try not to use the LV-Ns to get your transfer stage in orbit, instead make sure your lifter can get the transfer stage in orbit. Once in orbit you should use the LV-Ns to go interplanetary, but not earlier as the trust is simply not enough. - Try to use asparagus staging and use extra boosters (SRBs or just LF + O) on the outside if it is not sufficient by itself. - use enough struts, if a craft wobbles it is possibly due to a lack of struts. - I do have this picture lying around: As you can see it has 4 LV-Ns as 1 is not enough, as lifter I built asparagus staging, but as it was not sufficient I added LF + O boosters. The row closest to the Main rocket is in asparagus, the rows more outside feed the one more to the middle till the last one which puts everything in the beginning of the asparagus staging You can also see the great amount of struts I used
  20. My longest was around 29 years, I used it to visit, land on everything possible (including eve hehe) and return from the missions. Apparently waiting for time windows takes a long time . It was before 1.0 though, so I might do it again as it was great fun.
  21. Chapter 1 is added! Our heroes reached 1/8 of Eeloo's circumference!
