[WIP][1.0.5]* RSS Visual Enhancements (RVE)
Theysen replied to pingopete's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I run KSP in DX11 and tried RVE yesterday on Win32 version of KSP and no bugs occured at all except the known one like the buggy fonts. So you can't speak for all -
Try clicking on the blue bar where it says default, fuselage etc, once it changed there you should be able to tweak it again with the blue little arrows. It often occurs when an engine is already attached to the tank.

Error from CKAN for Engineer Redux when you have the newest version installed (.18) , do you need to update it everytime manually when there are mods updated? Or can't you use the recommended mods function by CKAN?
-
Exactly the same here, had the same on stock KSP with Hot Rockets + Smokescreen during the launch fx, but there I can delete this effect, couldn't find such a .cfg for RO as I think it's coupled to the certain engine(?) Otherwise it runs like a breeze here

JebediahKerman42's Procedural Part Textures!
Theysen replied to Freedom's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I dont know what I have done wrong but I don't get the textures after the new procedural parts update. I installed via CKAN but I don't get the textures in career nor sandbox mode (?) -
As long as you don't do this in real life it's fine
-
It's different for me, now using even more Mods and I can play for 4 hours straight without any issue. Also I tend to feel more fps but this might be subjective

[1.0.4] BetterEmissives v1.3 - Pre-1.0-like engine emissives
Theysen replied to mythbusters844's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
In 1.0.4 the two nose cones A & B (the shaped ones) turn red as soon as you lift off -
I really like the new categorizing of the update concerning stock items! One unfortunate bug I have though is that when reverting to Vehicle Assembly makes all parts disappear. I need to switch to KSC and then back to VAB to see them again, happened after install of this mod and was reproducable quite some times now. Just wondering if this fixable Keep up the nice work!

[1.5.1] Engine Lighting (1.5.1) Little Config Update (13 October)
Theysen replied to tajampi's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Installed via both CKAN and manually but it doesn't work for me. Only using Engineer Redux at the moment (?) :/ ___________ My bad: I forgot ModuleManager to update itself. Works like a breeze and I might be wrong but I have the feeling that all the visual mods run smoother in 1.0.4., nice job! -
Well, I guess all your mods are just in the Game Data folder which contains the Squad folder only by default. So just everything from the fresh steam install over to your modded game would update your current install *no warranty given*

30k to 22k as reentry periapsis worked for me on almost everything which was in orbit and had to come back. The reentry is now somewhat spectacular and you kind of get a better immersion of the whole process. It doesn't allow you to burst a ship up to outer space for the early science grind as in version 1.0.2, and I think this is what the OP is trying to say. I had the same problem that when you just drop like a stone you don't burn up but you just dont drop speed low enough to deploy the chutes. You have to go onto a shallower trajectory as the others mentioned even for your little one shot pods to gather science so you spend more time bleeding off speed in the atmosphere than just boosting to space and fall back, the new atmosphere is very unforgiving to this aspect. c

[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements
Theysen replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Your clouds are awesome! I would love to use the planet textures as well but I always get an CTD error before the game switches to menu after loading, without them it runs fine :/ -
Well, the reduced drag is kind of a struggle right now for me.. I am on early career now again and fulfilling these tourism contracts where they want to go suborbital. I put 4 Mk-1 Pods and radial chutes on it but before landing the craft only reaches about 320m/s and the chutes get destroyed when I am already below 2000m. It doesnt slow down like I thought, do we have to think smaller before unlocking drogue and airbrakes? I kind of like the direction but this thing should aerobrake on its own to be honest and not fall like a stone in lower atmosphere..

Delete the parts database.cfg in the root folder, this helped me so far everytime I encountered this error. If your TechTree is missing too, open your persistent.cfg from the current save and search for TechTreeUrl and replace it with the one of a newly and fresh created save as Module Manager for example changes this URL and messes things up when some mods are missing in the new install.

Robocraft? You already have a huge advantage as KSP veteran when it comes to building at least I guess
-
Thank you very much Jesrad, I simply forgot to lock the tanks and ended up with less fuel to be burnt by the rocket, didnt check that the small hardpoints don't lock the fuel crossfeed! Got it into orbit now and I am kind of hooked with more designs like this. Tyvm!
-
Can you give some flight instructions? Tested the exact first layout and didnt make it to orbit at all.. Do you go vertical at some point like the current spaceplanes design during ascent? I really would love to know as I like this approach of a crew shuttle!

Looking realistic in KSP
Theysen replied to Rdivine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Besides solar panels also lose their effectiveness over the years e.g. by radiation (just to name one factor among the others) in space environment. It's an decreasing exponential function. Due to this fact RTGs are the go to in the real world so I don't see a problem by making them infinite power sources.
