  1. - Big City Lues: An epidemic hits an industrial city. The panic reigns while the local authorities can not stem it, but, strangely, a laboratory close from here seems pretty calm... - Bring Me the Head of Avis Davis: The misadventures of a duo who should not have rented a vehicle with Avis (based on a true story). - Dead Ire: A group of criminals discover that they should have better checked the death of one of their victims before burying her. - FairyTale: A True Sorry: Documentary about people who have not forgiven their relatives for lying to them with fairy tales. - The Aunted Sea: Horror movie where passengers on a cruise ship find themselves surrounded by zombified aunts. - Leprechaun 4: In Pace: A boring dance comedy with little beings competing for the ultimate Celtic Music prize, the Lyre of Zinc.
  2. When your company is multinational, but your are using 12-hours and MMMM-DD-YYYY formats, even if none of your shareholding countries are using them. ___ Arianespace. Anyway, we got some clear shots of Soyuz 2.1b on its way to the ELS:
  3. Today I realized a kid's dream: I cannot describe my reaction when I discovered they will play at Tampa! It's about three hours and a half away from my place, but I must go to see them. When I was a kid, almost all of us were going and coming back in cheap Datsun minibuses, but sometime my mother was coming to bring me back, and almost every time she was playing a tape of Pink Floyd or Fleetwood Mac. I was not really caring about the last until I listened to "The Chain" for the first time. It was somewhat a "wake-up", its rhythm just captivated me, and I became crazy of that group too. Now, I just can't wait to go there! (My reaction when I received the booking confirmation)
  4. Presentation of the next Soyuz 2.1b/Fregat-M flight: If everything is going right, METOP C should be launched in three days. Funny points: - The last two METOP were launched atop Soyuz-2.1a/Fregat & Fregat-M from Tyuratam, in 2006 and 2012 respectively. - There is no precise data about the mass of C (given around 4200 kg), but METOP A is 4244 kg, and B is 4085 kg.
  5. None, alas. Although apparent, the extensions did not carry their "legs" but sensors and measuring equipment. Too bad, but the specifications were twisted for the time, with 10 reuses wanted for each block of the first stage. This only for the structure, the blocks' flight controls and systems were studied for 15 flights, and the RD-170s should have been good for... 27 reuses.
  6. Banned for having changed its profile picture (which was nice).
  7. Banned for omitting a period at the end of all sentences.
  8. Banned for exploring a fictional world.
  9. Banned for still not having put an Xmas cap on the Kraken, like the last year.
  10. Banned for having killed Liquid.
  11. Such a "short" (still, 2.5 times longer than planned) but great career. Also, Kepler is good to stay a long time up there: Gaia, Swift, and TESS will keep up the good work.
  12. Really nice! For standing shots, telescopes are a pretty good alternative to these terribly expensive long lenses.
  13. Fist Man: Tommy "The Machine" Gunn's son is seeking revenge against Rocky's son. Cross of Ion: In the near future, a corrupt scientist is doing everything in order to get the most envied physics prize, the ion cross. Vanishing Pint: The misadventures of standard students during a standard party. The Thin: A skinny man is found inanimate at sea, but the sailors having retrieved him will eventually regret it... Hosts of Mars: TV show where Terrians are sent to Mars and met with the locals. Woodsock: documentary about an individual forcing itself to dress with organic cloths.
  14. The CNES has shared a 3 minutes long video of today's CFOSat launch: First time I'm seeing a whole CZ-2C launch until the first stage separation.
  15. Drove a bit around my place during the last days: Seems like the F-4D had been repainted lately. Just an umpteenth time at Playalinda:
  16. "Moar" rockets! Yesterday, I finally went back to the rocketry association (first time since January), and it was a great occasion to see some interesting models: The Mars fuming monster was still in service! All the others are in the spoiler. ---------- Also, I found some pictures taken by one of my relative during the launch of CRS-13 in last December.
  17. Great news! On 2018-11-13/16, the I.S.U. will redefine the gram (and also the A and the K) by switching from its actual material base, the famous International Prototype Kilogram, but whose mass has slowly varied along the years, to an immaterial one related to the Planck constant (J*s) More available on this page: https://news.cnrs.fr/articles/measures-the-great-shift
  18. Have you tried Paintbrush? It's all but an excellent one, but it has a textbox option available. (Now, I haven't used it for a long, looooong time, so I'm not absolutely sure it will be what you are looking for)
  19. Some even did too much: I love the A-3 too: (Funny picture, as the beast is surrounded by one of the few models which didn't have any folding wings)
  20. Some shot of AEHF 4 and its beautiful ride: Others are embedded. I changed some little things in the settings and the aperture. It's a bit better now for the night shots, but still lower than what I would like
  21. Just for the NASA, and in the department of Chandra, HETE-2 and NuSTAR could potentially help to keep a good rate of data. Also, could it be the occasion for Newton to get back the enthusiasts interest? If I remember correctly, it is as old as Chandra.
  22. It reminds me what an ex-paratrooper friend of mine was telling me: the first jump is always particular, and not so scary. You got boosted by adrenaline, and everything around is just incredible. Then, the second jump is another story... we gave diapers to the guys just in case, because unlike the first jump, that's when most of them realized what they were doing! To be honest, we had a few full diapers.
