  1. The microphone from the Vulcain camera also is awful, the worst being that the C.N.E.S. YouTube channel is always recording a way better sound. Also, as you wrote, they are re-serving the same dish to us since late 2013 (VA215)... and still no Vega on-board camera!
  2. I was looking for some stuff in my cartons when I found it back... my beloved 12 years old DSC-W100! It's the first digital camera I've ever had, and I thought I lost it two years ago. From 2006 to 2015 it was my sole and only camera, and wherever I traveled it followed me. Actually, almost all the museums pictures I've shared here were taken with it. He is marked and scratched everywhere, but he has held up and will keep on!.. if I can find a good card reader first, as even its card is outdated (a "Memory Stick Pro" format, which was not reliable) It can now rest in a better place, with its Sony brothers and my adopted Panasonic orphan (which was the one replacing it for two years)
  3. Under Windows too, just awfully ugly and big. It is like YouTube some years ago, just make everything bigger with even more white everywhere so you can have a nice headache (without counting these designs are almost universally considered as ugly). Hopefully someone shared a solution:
  4. While taking a two hours long math course: Just a simple air-dropped light launcher. Edit: I found more of them standing in my books!
  5. New options are available at http://rammb-slider.cira.colostate.edu/?sat=goes-16&z=0&im=12&ts=1&st=0&et=0&speed=130&motion=loop&map=1&lat=0&opacity[0]=1&hidden[0]=0&pause=0&slider=-1&hide_controls=0&mouse_draw=0&follow_feature=0&follow_hide=0&s=rammb-slider&sec=full_disk&p[0]=16&x=10848&y=10848 In the past, only the sight from GOES-R was available, now GOES-S (launched on 2018-03-01) data can also be viewed: Himawari-8 images are now available in color: Finally, JPSS-1 (a.k.a. NOAA-20) was added this week (!): Being on a 98.7° orbit, fewer images are available, but it's still a nice sight to have. Edit: @ProtoJeb21 taken 40 minutes ago (16:20 UTC), Trami formation is interesting:
  6. Just to give a huge thank to all of you for making me discover this game! Only 14 h 6 m since I downloaded it two weeks ago, but it's starting to become awesome. Despite being somewhat a bit hard (or complex to analyse) at the beginning, I've found a way to stop being in dept, then fought and repaired the first battleship I've met. That game is really entertaining and pretty addictive too.
  7. I passed 6 hours in a row in a math-lab. First, I'm not a math fan. Second, all the screens here are terribly large, and their resolution is locked. It's absolutely awful to look at! So much blur that it is always giving me a headache after some hours. Then, I left the place as it was closing, took my car, and it happen... There is an exit with a right turn, but every single time I can expect to have pedestrians and cyclists crossing. I don't know what happened to me, maybe it was due to the tiredness, or the somewhat brainwash from the last hours, but I turned on the right at the green, and at the time I passed over the crosswalk I saw two cyclists on my left and one on my right... I didn't had the time to react, but hopefully they were aware and stopped before being hit. I'm so confused and ashamed right now, as I made a stupid error like the ones I daily criticize, and I could have injured some I should have stopped by somewhere, taken a rest, or just rested before driving...
  8. Banned for missing a point at the end of its sentence.
  9. Somewhat a similar story happened in the city of Brest : some sailors from a Royal Navy vessel met with others from the Armada Argentina in the town... leaving a good pile of broken windows behind them. It was in 83, and fools from the port administration found a way to accept these two ships at the same time, omitting what happened months earlier.
  10. Banned for misuse of capital letters.
  11. It's an excellent one. I bought it about five years ago to replace my *cough* 98' Microsoft Sidewinder I (which is still working after all these years). To me, the sole disappointment about the Thrusmaster was its lack of force feedback on the throttle. I'm finding it extremely flabby. Can be nice in some situation where we need to push forward instantly, but it's a bit too sensitive for precision maneuvers. OP, are you looking only for a stick? If you are also interested for yokes, I would recommend the FSY from CH-Product: http://www.mypilotstore.com/MyPilotStore/sep/4127?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrZ_YgpG-3QIVh8DICh3ddw88EAQYASABEgKezfD_BwE I own one since 2005 and it never betrayed me since, pretty robust and with great force feedback. Of course, it's not as "athletic" as a stick, but you can still make nice and precise maneuvers with it. Coupled with CH's rudder pedals it's even better. However, I would not recommend their throttles pack. It's an awful looking one, and if you are not changing the throttles' heads you're good to have an ugly imitation of a twin engines aircraft with constant-speed propellers... Instead, I used a 747-400 imitation, but it's not available anymore. Still, in the same style and from Saitek for a pretty descent price: https://www.fspilotshop.com/cockpit-phd-boeing-747-handles-for-saitek-throttle-quadrant-p-6851.html Or... there is still the Rolls of all... but here we are entering in another world: If you want a nice imitation of the A-10 controls (without the rudder). It's a real beast, and still cost around 350-400 USD even today after all these years, but sometimes you can find a nice promotion where it can drop around 180-200 (about 153 GBP) Honestly, it's the most precise I ever used in a sim.
  12. Wooohooo!!! Can't wait for it! Bruno's answered it will be a 7420, but it's already awesome to have one real legendary Delta II conserved somewhere.
  13. Some shots taken the last week while being in Brittany: The Saint-Mathieu lighthouse, located at the headland of the same name. Being freshly repainted it contrasts even better with the ruins of the abbey. Btw, about 15 minutes only had passed between the two pictures... typical local weather. Just a small edit to join the upper spider-crazy team: It was living in one of the umpteenth Tobruk fortifications...
  14. Florida men actually imagined a solution during the last season, and wished to retry this year: Now, I can't be really neutral about the idea of experiencing these natural "monsters". Maybe, if you have nothing to lose ( in term of property) They are interesting, even passionate at some points, but having loss a lot at three different occasion, I'm suspicious of the cyclones like the plague. p.s: I just love the fact that the shooter needs a laser range finder to aim at the cell.
  15. Florence, taken 30 minutes ago: Helene is pretty impressive too...
  16. Nice video! Only five seconds between the engines start-up and the sound arrival. I don't know the local conditions at the time, but they were standing around 1.7 km only from the pad; lucky guys.
  17. I guess most of us (if not all) said it during their young years. Although, I remember those particular subjects that were always happy to restart classes in September... they had a secret power The only thing I could say to your situation is to hold the present blow and those who will come; do not give up. Honestly, the parental authority, and especially the school system have always irritated me. Some love them, others hate them, so it is. But if there is one thing I would recommend, it is to not stop studying prematurely. I made this mistake and now I regret it bitterly. Being in classes with subjects 10-7 years younger is not so funny, and returning under the school authority after being free during all these years, rather difficult (but this is only my personal vision)
  18. I love the fact that it is only dedicated to 10 - 55 years old.
  19. Two days ago I complained that my car was towed away. Due to this I missed today's launch of Telstar 18, but I was more worried about the car itself. I went to the residence center this morning to ask where she was standing, just hopping it will not be in the farthest car park (2 hours of walking from my place), and they told me that she was waiting for me on the residence's northern parking... Only... twenty... meters... from... me... if the northern building was not present I could had seen she was standing right in front of me. The worst being that I missed her yesterday while going to my mail box, at this point she was only ten meters on my right... *ARRRRRRRRGH*
  20. Totally unstable for my part: (Wow, two years ago already... it was my final flight under 1.0.5)
  21. Some capture from GOES 16 (which should celebrate its second year of service soon) Taken between 2018-09-08 11:45:32 and 2018-09-09 17:15:31.
