Achievements possibly coming to KSP
Evanitis replied to Norpo's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Well, sure it won't matter nothing to us who already play it on computers and can't live without mods. But it's the type of game parents who doesn't want the little ones to play yet another shooty/slashy game buy to their kids. And kids like consoles - no hassle with files and operating systems and such. I bet it will sell.- 29 replies

Achievements possibly coming to KSP
Evanitis replied to Norpo's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah, that probably has too much variables to make it into an achievment. But there's Eve return, Grand Tour and a few others that will be nice to aim for.- 29 replies

Achievements possibly coming to KSP
Evanitis replied to Norpo's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'll might go and get a Steam version of the game too because of that. I couldn't care less about the achievments of most games these days - level 100 in Fallout 4? 100% completition of all GTA titles? Pretty knife in CS:GO? Ye, you have no life, who cares. But I wouldn't mind KSP badges on my Steam account. RL and digital friends of mine would go "- ahh, you are still playing KSP after all these years? Is it that good?" "- didn't I tell you it's the game of the century?" "- yes you did, but it had no lasers or e-sport championships so I skipped it. Is it really better than all those early access indy games you play?" "- yes." It will bring even more popularity to KSP, and bragging rights to me.- 29 replies

The Rocks! Asteroid landing challenge
Evanitis replied to MagicFireCaster's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I'll make one. Wanted to do it anyways, as I'm interested in the challenge myself, and I like pretty badges. Never actually got to play with rocks since those are featured, so you are providing me the perfect excuse to do so.- 22 replies

I made a thing (it has wings and engines)
Evanitis replied to Randazzo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
SPH is built of cardboard - this was barely a scratch.. Nice looking winged thing you got there! -
Welcome around! Just wanted to add that that pilots know nothing that can't be done by adding an extra cheap, light probe-core to the design. Most of those have SAS (right click the part on the list to double-check).

What Is the Greatest moment you have ever had?
Evanitis replied to Dr.K Kerbal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Best was undoubtably the first Mun-landing back in the day, only by trial and error. But taking an overbuilt lander with 3.6k dV to orbit with the n-th iteration of a low-tech SSTO is a close second.- 71 replies

Efficient Destruction Challenge
Evanitis replied to Evanitis's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Yes - they die. But it doesn't affect the scoring. I'm yet to test if the presence of a Kerbal adds to the destructive potential of the designs. -
Things that don't make sense
Evanitis replied to Rdivine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'm tempted to add the fact that air-intakes work underwater... but mentioning it would suggest that I mind it, or that I want to join the nitpicking. The only thing I actually slightly mind from that list is the engine gimbal speed. Since you asked nicely, I wont name the mod that fixes it (along with other minor stuff). I particularly like the russian style tanks. I wish these to be the bigest problems in KSP, or even life we ever encounter. -
I add one, so we get the alleged age of Jesus when he was crucified.

As much as I like to laugh on that dictatorship, the fact that the same pic illustrates a two year old article that can't confirm a gossip of North Korea claiming that they did send the same astronaut to the Sun... makes me doubt in the story you linked. I mean not just the trip itself, but that they actually broadcasted such. source: http://mic.com/articles/80001/did-north-korea-really-claim-to-land-a-man-on-the-sun-here-s-the-full-story#.YKG4UcdkH EDIT: further googling has shown that the origin of this announcement is a satiric-funny-fake-news site. http://waterfordwhispersnews.com/2014/01/21/north-korea-lands-first-ever-man-on-the-sun-confirms-central-news-agency/ I'm also fun at parties.

how to go back to 0.90
Evanitis replied to TheNarwhalArmy's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
As I recon the author did quit after the changes in buyoancy that came with 1.0.5. That means it should work well with 1.0.4. Though I have to agree with Snark - stock sea-stuff feels real cool in this version. I even had great fun underwater - though I admit the vanilla ways to do it are either impractical or irrealistic. Full ore tanks work as ballast, though it would be painful to refill one for a second dive after you surface the first time. Engines can also push crafts underwater (like a reverse VTOL). That's pretty silly, but not as much as the fact it also works with airbreathing engines. -
Science points beyond tech tree
Evanitis replied to Tantalus's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It's really hard to set a career where both funds and science is relevant trough the whole game. But there are mods, and we can also tailor the difficulty by sliders or by savegame editing. I also dislike how different are the sci rewards in the beginning and at the end. Either the early game is -very- grindy, or the late game is too short. Yeah, I know, unlocking the tree is not the end... but at that point I might as well just play sandbox. I enjoy the limitations. One of my solutions was to start with 100% sci rewards, but decreasing it slowly. -15% every time I orbit a new body, and -15% again when landing on it first (Kerbin included). This way early game is done quickly, but by the time I visited Mun and Minmus, I only get 10%, so I have to do a lot of interplanetary stuff before the tree is done. Some might find it tedious, but I feel the lowest tech docking port is all I really need to go kinda' anywhere. -

Eight mamayas. If I save time, when do I get it back? -
Bloody hell, you are tough... I tried to play IVA-RPM only, but I barely found space. Guess I didn't do my homework.

Evanitis replied to ThatKerbal's topic in Forum Games!
The above line google-translated to vietnamise and back.. 1 times: "why only little applies quite well with the language of interest?" 2 times: "why only good bit application with the language cares?" 5 times: "why only good bit concerned application language?" 7 times: "why only slightly better language related applications?" 9 times: "why only a little better language related to applications?" And it loops after that. Changing to Azerbajian language and back: why not just a little bit better on language programs? So the correct answer is: because imperfect translator softwares provide much fun. Why is it that rain drops but snow falls? -
I noticed that in that mission, I can switch to Inigma -before- the 'drive there' requirement is completed. This way his welcome popup window never appears. I didn't test if that screws with the mission, but that might be the case here. (though that was in the release version, didn't check if there was a change since than)

Ugh, what an ugly can of worms I did open. Hope my ignorance didn't offend anyone. Ok, I get the point. For me the strongest argument here was that the devs make money while improving KSP, while modders generally not. Thus it pollutes my karma to be satisfied with the state of people improving a game I love for free. You modders should be all hired by Squad. I'll keep that in mind when I feel the urge to post something like -'why on Kerbin you want the devs to dedicate resources for something that's in a perfectly fine and very popular mod?'-

Cause it would be annoying to wake up to roars and shrieks instead of tweeting. They'd also ruin electric cables upon landing. Is there a release date for KSP 2 yet? -
Spaceplane Variety! (please lock)
Evanitis replied to SpaceplaneAddict's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I love spaceplanes, but clicked the 4th option. Since my need for more parts never got severe enough to grab a mod that has them, I don't -feel- stock needs those badly. I also kinda' prefer kelbaly-silly designs to sane and realistic ones, thus 'moar boosters' and lego style lifting surfaces are closer to my heart than modern, big engines or sleek procedural wings. EDIT: If I could pick -something- to improve, I'd change -all- fuel-tank parts so that those can be filled with a hand-picked proportion of LF / Ox / Monoprop. Though that would result in less parts instead of more. -
So what happened to the barn?
