    The Battle of Ike

Oddly, one of my EX-9s has disappeared. I didn't cloak it, so I have no idea what happened to it. I went ahead with my turn anyway, as I had a plan. Taking Nafred Kerman's EX-9, I rendevoused with the Daylight, as I realised that by destroying it I would win, as then your fleet would only have 1 missile to destroy my 3 remaining alive ships, and no Klaw or missile with a docking port to salvage. (The Intact Eos, the heavily damaged Eos, and Labal Kerman's pod. It still has a RTG and a weapon pod, so its alive.)

Making 2 burns, I zeroed my relative velocity and launched a G3 Torpedo.

It hit near the back at a weird angle, and knocked off a wingplate, but left the Daylight otherwise intact.

I then lauched another one, which hit down the front, destroying all its weapons.

With one missile left in your fleet, and no way of salvaging knocked off missiles, It is impossible for you to destroy moer than one of my 3 remaining surviving ships, meaning a victory fro the F-Tech Fleet.

if you really stretch the definition of damaged, and count the disappearing EX-9 as alive, that technically means no Eoses were lost in the battle.

@Spartwo can you uptdate the leaderboard please?

Think we have a league battle coming up soon where I can test some new missiles.

I'm sorry I thought panzer was taking a break I'm not fighting you anymore

@Alphasus there was a spaceship in subnauitca called the aurora also no aurora does not mean dawn. It is the northern lights.

Ahh sorry about that. Somehow that and dawn came up as synonymous...

EDIT: look up aurora meaning and read the 2nd definition.

Randomly generated but somehow got Alpha and Miffled together. Will swap with frozen or others if they're not up for it. I like this 8 competitor bracket.

That's fine. My missiles will be redone by the time of the tournament. Also I'll have some fighters :)

Ok, mixed feelings. One hand, 2 of your ships now cannot make a hostile action, while only one of mine can't, but on the other hand, Nooo! Those EX-9s cost, you know! That's going to hurt my budget.

Yeah, but I have an extra ship on you. Also, I can outrange you in an unarmed 1v1 which lead to an interesting stalemate condition.

  5. Fired 1 missile, stripped off some composite plating. Fired a 2nd missile, clipped inside and dislodged some stability. Pilot killed. Fired a 3rd missile, more instability, no missiles. Crashing into Ike, burned prograde to try to save it. Not enough electric charge to sustain a burn prograde, hyper-edited to 38km circular. Recircularized the Dawn at a higher altitude.

    Turn 2 Complete

“2 task forces were sent to Ike in response to the sighting of a fleet headed by Eos-class subcapital ships. One task force kept in a high-energy state so less delta-v would be needed, and had less range. The more maneuverable task force took a lower orbit. This was the first test of the aging Pico-class subcapital ship in a long time, which had been aided by iterative design concepts. The fleets were prepared to prevent an aggressive action from the other fleet sent to Ike, and we hope no conflict occurs."

I put O-rings on my Aivia Osmium to cut down the noise, since I will keep bottoming out. I don't really feel any difference in the tactile bump, of course it will make the bottom-out 'softer'. And they've certainly been effective at stopping me from waking up family as I type into the small hours! First I've heard of those 'clips'. Considering they're practically as expensive as a whole keyboard, I wonder if it wouldn't just be better to buy a keyboard that's quieter - IIRC even with the same switches the keyboard build itself affects the noise.

Then again, for me it's really just the spacebar rebound that makes the loud noise. Just damping that would cut down drastically on overall volume. Wonder if there's any good ways to target it?

I think it's most effective to buy the cheap soft landing pads. They're more expensive than o-rings($13) but shouldn't compromise tactility. Of course, I'd prefer Zealencios.

Link for the Zealencios? I do have to say I feel less of a bump with o-rings. Might just get a pack of Zealioses though.

Fair warning, they are expensive. Like $50 for 70 and you need 104. They will be like $70 although if your switches are PCB mounted, not plate mounted, it will be far cheaper to just buy Cherry MX compatible silencing clips. Also Zealencios don't make a huge difference for OEM profile key caps but they do if you have Cherry profile caps. The MX plate mount silencing clips would be better in most cases dollar per dollar.

O-rings bring down volume a lot, my Gat Browns are a lot quieter with the o-rings on, but that's because I bottom out.

O-rings also really change how switches feel and can sometimes cause mushy switches. I prefer Zealencio silencing clips to O-rings to keep feeling similar while decreasing noise that isn't click noise.

Much to my surprise, clicky keys sound much less clicky with the keycap removed. Apparently, the stem part is only part of the story. It seems to need the keycap to funnel or amplify the sound.

But yes, any feedback or sound is artificial :)

PBT keycaps also make clicky switches quieter instead of ABS keycaps in my case. I guess the sound is channeled, but the keycaps doesn't create sound, because my tactile switches don't get louder or quieter except for the rare bottoming out noise when I go from ABS to PBT. PBT makes the bottoming out noise, and depending on thickness I'll bet, all noises, quieter based on results with clicky switches(Razer Greens) and my bringing in some PBT caps to a local store to test with.
