Okay, so I have a basic idea of what a VTOL is, it's pretty much a plane that takes off vertically, I'm quite interested in these things because you can land them vertically too, which is a good alternative to a normal plane landing because I'm rubbish at that, but I don't really know the FULL details of exactly what a VTOL is, and how I would design one, I see these replicas with a jet engine at the bottom, that looks cool but I dont know how I would make that, including intakes and making it so I can swap engines from vertical to horizontal, to clarify, when I say VTOL I mean planes, I don't count rockets as VTOL's because they always (hopefully) take off vertically, so if anyone can give me anything from a quick rundown to a detailed guide, I'd appreciate it, thank you for your help, 'cause I'm itching to try them!

No mate, it's england, cloudy ALL night EVERY night. - - - Updated - - - It IS kinda blue, when I looked at it there was a thick blue "Corona" around it, and viewing it with my binoculars I could see a thin blue line around it, looked like a kind of sunrise/sunset there, and strangely like an atmosphere. I'll have to look out for crescent moons!

I saw the Blue Moon through my binoculars and saw all the seas and the crater tycho!

I asked this on the KSP chatroom and they told me to post here, so heres my problem. The VAB and SPH is completely broken, when I enter it there are no parts, nothing in the part box except a box at the bottom with a bunch of overlapped sentences in it, and the flag box shows a pixelated kerbal, nothing I press in there works and all I can do is exit the VAB/SPH, It started yesterday when a bunch of crashes were happening and I got a kraken attack, after one of the crashes I booted up t he game again and this happened, I had loads of mods then but I've uninstalled them all now and it's still happening. No logs because pastebin says I've exceeded the max file size of 512kb, but they all either say mono.dll caused an access violation in module mono.dll or the same with ksp.exe instead of mono.dll. Somebody please help me because I cannot play the game because of this.

I've always been interested in SSTO's in this game, like the things that can bring a good payload to orbit and not have to make a good fairing, spend multiple tries to stop it spinning out on gravity turn and not be as annoying to make as rockets, but I'm rather poop at flying planes, and have no clue how I would fly an SSTO or even make one, all I know about it is that its a plane with rapier engines and gets to orbit in one stage, nothing else, so can anyone tell me the answers to my questions so I'm not stuck with annoying rockets that take a good few tries every launch just because it wobbles like Miley Cyrus's *** and I messed up the asparagus and MOAR STRUTS. Note: I'm on sandbox, and I dont really intend to do the land back on the runway thing, its either decouple a detatchable ascent stage or nothing, I'm not that good at landing planes, oh, yeah, and can MJ autopilot an SSTO Spaceplane? 102t Thank you for any help!

I kind of want to have it be open for choice and not restricted to "make station with littlest funds possible for collecting science" -
After seeing how much Dres is ignored in the KSP community, I thought that I would make a challenge to do with Dres. So I present the creatively named Dres Challenge! The goal is to send as many ships to Dres as possible, and make a good-looking ground base/station there, and maybe even explore the asteroids, just do anything Dres! I'm counting points on how cool the ship/base/station looks and how functional it is, try explore the biomes of the space potato and have fun! Sorry, no badge here Rules: No Debug Menu, any mods can be used except Hyperedit or any cheaty add-ons, Mechjeb is allowed if you really cant be bothered to do something, give us some proof if you collected some cool science there.

The New Light 1 probe, orbiting the Mun has achieved it's main goal and it's optional goal! I sent it up with a rocket that had way too much DV and a whole stage of wasted DV I didnt need, but because of that I achieved the optional goal for the probe, by jettisoning the waste fuel stage and adjusting the Probes orbit so the debris never got anywhere near the probe, I have made a failsafe kind of thing for Kerballed Mun landings, so if theres a fuel shortage they can Rendezvous with the tank almost completely full of fuel, and use some KAS ports to take the fuel incase of emergency! Here is an album. (P.S. If that doesn't show up as an imbedded album please tell me how to make it an imbedded album!)This is my first ever Mun orbit and I love it!

So after posting on reddit that whenever MechJeb piloted my ships, they would fail, they told me the solution was to add MOAR STRUTS and just now that worked, and I got the first module of my station in to Kerbin orbit, the ship got into a stable yet eccentric orbit because MJ forgot to execute the circularization burn, so I had to do it instead and that made the orbit quite eccentric because of the delay of MJ missing it, which it did on both attempts and on the second I did the burn myself after MJ forgot about it, I dont know why MJ forgot it because it made the manuever node and everything, does this happen to everyone or just me? Thanks in advance for any answers! On a side note, I used Asparagus Staging for the first time on the stations lifter, I hardly expected it to even make orbit, but when I got the proper orbit it had enough DV left to possibly get to Eve and orbit it, and thats insane for the standards of my craft, so I must hop on the Asparagus bandwagon and say "Asparagus efficiently OP".

I always use Control Surfaces, but maybe adding an inline reaction wheel could help. And it's not one plane, im just bad with allplanes rreally -

I'm not the best at flying planes in this game, I see alot of planes that can turn instanteneously, and stay stable throughout flight and reach supersonic speeds, none of which I'm really good at, because whenever I fly a plane turning takes AGES, I tilt to the side, hold A/D like no tomorrow and 10 seconds of wonky, clunky controlling later it's turned slightly, and I'll need to do alot more of that to turn to face the island airstrip, and nevermind fly back towards KSC. So, can someone educate me on flying these things?
