I would actually be interested in this if SSTOs had a board of their own. Also, I get that Cockpits are treatable like payload, but really, can we actually think of the Kerbals we have stranded for this? I mean, for singlestagers, it would make a bit of sense to get the Kerbs home. -SPAddict IMHO of course

You might want to try what I did and make 2 launches. One for the rover+lander combo. And another for orbital ejection, corrections, and Tylo insertion.

I left Jeb Bob and Bill on the Tri-J5, my Jool-5 ship. Valentina is my concern ATM, she's circumnavigating Tylo. I doubt the Tri-J5 will survive another Tylo encounter.

Well, I can say that RAPIERS are gas guzzlers in both ways. Often, they need a full jet fuel tank JUST for Airbreathing mode. -SPAddict
