What is your naming system for Planes/Rockets?
Spacetraindriver replied to musicpenguin's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I usually make replica craft, past, present, or future, to avoid this. But every once and a while I make my own craft. I take properties of the craft and mix them to create words. This is Mktwotle. Guess which words were mixed up in that. -
When ever I put on struts on a craft always find my self singing: Strut, Strut, Strut it Up! Stru, Stru, Stru, Stru, Strut it Up! I even made a extended a Song! Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up! When your aircraft are wiggiling and wagalling When your rockets fly, then explode When you need a help flying, and don't know what to do, Then Strut, Strut, Strut, it Up! Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up! When your wings are high and engines are low When your rockets hover low When you lose your Interplanatary Stage Then Strutting is the way to Go! Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up! Rockets, Rovers, Rovers and Planes Train, Bases and things that are pains, VTOLS, SSTOS Whatever the size, or engine power Struts are your main Super Power! Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up! Everybody now! Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up Strut, Strut, Strut it up! Stru,Stru,Stru, Stru, Strut it Up!!!!!!!!

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR PORTAL 2. IF YOU DON"T WANT THE GAME RUINED DO NOT SCROLL DOWN. You have been warned! If you have played Portal 2 then you might know what I'm talking about. At the end of the game Chell shoots a portal to the Moon. This forces Evil Wheatley along with a couple other cores to be sucked into space. Now they are pretty dang expensive ( Sentient AI and all that ) so GLADOS plans to get them back, because she feels bad for them ( She was sweet to a person that killed her soooooo). Story 1 Atlas and Peabody get the test subjects out, and GLADOS uses them for her mini space program, though they have larger heads, smaller bodies, became short, and became green (No tech is perfect) Story 2 Atlas and Peabody get the test subjects out, and gain GLADOS' trust. GLADOS' "Core" gets tranferd into a ship and she flies the ship to there. Outside the fourth wall Wheatlety, Space Core, Adventure Core, and Intellegence core will be launched useing one of my Saturn V's They will be in the universe's most messy orbit. Stats: Cores are done. Rocket in decision. Space craft questionable. Retrieve Method: Cargo bay retrieve, no docking ports. Type: Mk2 1 long, 1 short Questionable OTHER method. Kerbal Retrieve ( for story 1 ) Mission stats: Story 1: Pre flight Story 2: Pre flight Crafts: Cores: In side rocket during test 1

How to land giant planes?
Spacetraindriver replied to Spacetraindriver's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Oh forgot her. -
Now we all use struts. Struts are our (second ) best friends! But this bug might make us HATE struts. This bug was discovered yesterday. Because the top of my plane was floppy I added struts. So I took a strut, placed the first end, then placed it on the other end. What I think happened here is that the game could not decide whether or not this was to place the strut, or say It was me clicking the part. It was the latter that happened to me. Instead of placing the 2nd end it selected the part I clicked and made it follow my mouse. This time it was OK but you can imagine how much trouble this might cause.

How to land giant planes?
Spacetraindriver replied to Spacetraindriver's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yup WARNING LOTS OF BIG PICTURES: f3 says that there is a structural linkage failure on everything. -
I've had the same problem with my Thunder Bird. There are two types of VTOLs. 1. Planes that take off vertically And 2: Craft meant to fly without lift. Basically what the last guy said. That "Turn off vertical engine" is really for the Plane VTOLs. Unless that thing has enough thrust to push it like a SRB (Those engines are quite small) it would be best to keep that bottom engine on.

I like big things. So I make big planes. The problem is that they blow up upon landing. I'm planning to build an An 225 but if I can't land a 747 then these crafts are just flying eye candy. Just tips. I am not cutting throttle because I know that would slow the monsters too much and land with a devastating thump followed by a bunch of explosions. It's not just MK3 planes (though the majority) but just any plane that is of size.

The Airliner Showcase Thread
Spacetraindriver replied to ZodiaK's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Ahh. Airliners. So nice. Here's a 747 This Airbus A380 is easier to handle, despite size. The Concord ALREADY overheating. Small Shuttle versatile shuttle for all passenger work. Now if you excuse me I'm going to put this into my company thread. And All stock:cool: -
I don't really know where to put this since it's not gameplay, so Mods move this where you like. I started up a rocket company but have NO IDEA how to share craft.

Kerbal Space Program Creppypasta?
Spacetraindriver replied to Spacetraindriver's topic in KSP Fan Works
oh and KRAKEN DOES NOT COUNT. -
Now I know a bunch of you will be screaming at me that SLS is better because it is more modern or Saturn V is better because who knows what. But think basics. The rocket. The spacecraft. Forget about so fancy-schmancy computers. As (I hope) you all know, Orion will be going to the moon (Maybe that forgotten lander but have not found much info yet). And (it would be pretty sad if you did not know) you ALL know Saturn V carried, well you all should know. I will be trying replicas of SLS soon. I'll leave this though here.

Hmmm. This is close to Imperial March...
