So, I'm going to start the Elcano challenge because I honestly been trying to before it was even thought of. I am gonna do something like Overland's trains, except... Drum roll! STOCK! And maybe less frustration... I have multiple locomotives waiting in the shed and a HECK of a lot waiting in the works and triple that in my head. It is not the "Realistic" series (the Bigboy in my sig) but the Practical series (the "Real Functioning Trains in KSP" thread). I have multiple trains that suit it but I can't choose which. How this works: Now you need SOME basic imfo: Steam: Depending on how many sets of wheels = How many jets. Better at not overheating faster. Needs "Steam"(electricity) build up. Diesel: Fast Build up, Prone to over heating, more visibility. Turbines: Steam is moar jets Diesel is ROCKETS!! 1: Big boy! A steam locomotive, the multiple wheels, strength, very long over heating, lots o fuel, and speed, make up for its long length. Nice 25 m/s 2: EMD (which ever # you want) A diesel with 8 drivers, it was the very first made. Pretty normal, has lower speed/ cruising speed than that up there ^ at 18 m/s. 3: The JET TRAIN (Mk 2) A new jet train for the Practe (yes, that is the real name) series. A bit fast and a BIT of violent braking. 4: Normal Steam engine Just like Big Boy but with one set of drivers. 5: Diesel Turbine This train has rockets for RAPID electricity production. Inefficient at low speeds but VERY efficient at VERY high speeds. 6: The bug If you have seen Overland's shunting bug, then you know it. 7: THE ROCKET TRAIN!!! The Jet train but with rockets. 8: Big Man Basically: Moar big boy in one train. 9: Steam Turbine Same as diesel turbine but jets. No electric trains because that I think is cheating. ONLY for rescues. Also how should my consist be like (the cars that the loco pulls)? All fuel? Relief crew? Base Deployer? All combined? It has to have at least 5 cars. This is not really sharing my crafts so... But you can move it if you wanna. Stuff to help you choose: Big one (similar to Big Boy) and possible consist An EMD to a local station B unit (MK 1 B unit) Demenstration: Similar Jet train Mk2 speed (Mk 1 "realistic series" Jet train)
