True, so deliciously true. The user below me does not understand what I mean by "parmo".

SYSTEM ERROR: CANNOT DIVIDE BY 0 The user below can divide by 0.

Another of my favorites: Albus Kerman. He reminds me of a certain Dumbledore, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

I've found it: the solution. It has been bestowed upon me - my lack of observance is now apparent. Thank you. Anyway, rating: 7/10 +2 not cluttered and includes an image (difficult to do with detail kept) +1 Short, simple statement +1 That statement is true (I quite like the little dwarf planet, though). +1 Nice screenshot +1 Potentially confusing image comes with a link to explain it +1 My marking system is harsh and needs fixing.. +1 Tables!

7/10 +2 reference I don't get, but I assume others would +1 Quote +1 not cluttered or distracting +1 I wouldn't shoot a guy with glasses +1 I wouldn't shoot a guy with glasses +1 My harsh system needs changing That Canadian vending machine guy is harsher though...

I've started work on a bike, and it works! But it's backwards... a newbie mistake. Anyway, I'll just re-make it (it was the concept that took the most time, and it only took 30 minutes anyway) and improve it, but this time facing the right way. Hopefully.
-
And we have a bike! Ingenious, truly. I was just waiting for something as crazy and impossible as this. Bravo, can't wait for the finished result.
-
And here it is, fully assembled including an awful boat that I made (I'm not great with boats):
-
I created them seperately, each of them have a probe as their core. The trailer uses a slim-line Okto beneath the docking port and the truck uses a Cube in the engine. The buggy also uses and Okto, between the floor and the underside.
-
Ok, the second part of the Boat carrying vehicle, possibly the most important part - The Trucker: CAUTION: Sharp turns may result in death and the destruction of your Trucker. Applying smooth-control is advised. Emergency braking is impossible. If someone jumps out in front of you it's their fault.
-
Looks great! The idea of keeping the functional stuff in the back to look like storage is great. Making the bonnet from two rover bodies? Genius. I never even considered it.
-
I'm still working on a boat and truck (similar to SirJoab's semi), but I have completed the first part of the boat-carrier - the containment bay (officially called, creatively, "Boat Carrier"): WARNING: Do not attempt to carry objects that are wider than the carrier, there is an increased risk of it falling. Objects with a high centre of mass may also be at risk. Mass is generally not an issue, though the carrier may flex too far and/or break when carrying excessive weights. Time-warp of above 2x is not discouraged.
-
Currently making a vehicle that can carry boats, I'll get back to you all when I'm done!

I'd say that spaceplanes are in a pretty solid state, they're probably the most complete set of parts so far. I'm also aware that they have a lot on their plate, and I don't expect any of this to come through any time soon. I'd prefer them to finish this NASA asteroid project and career mode, as they are doing, before starting this. What kind of concerns me is that they've started work on multiplayer. Props to them, but I think it's a little early. I'd prefer development time to be spent on completing other things such as the lack of parts in some areas (which I'll not mention because of "Do not suggest") and completing the Space Centre. I'm happy with what they're working on at the moment though, by the sound of things there'll be an asteroid belt by 0.25. I honestly can't wait.

Duna Spacecraft Help -- Career
Shna_na replied to saamoz1014's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I've skimmed the replies but read the OP, and I think you need this. To save you the effort of clicking, it says that Duna requires 5980m/s Delta V, including everything, to achieve an orbit above Duna that's 10Km above the highest point of its atmosphere. Let's assume that, including errors throughout the mission, you need another 1220m/s (if you use parachutes) to land and make up for errors. You then need 1500m/s, including errors for the rest of the mission, to achieve orbit again. All of this adds up to around 8700m/s. Add the original number, minus 4500 of the 4550 needed to reach orbit from Kerbin's surface, and you have 8700+1430=10130. But we'll be safe and call it 1500, so it adds up to 10200m/s. That's your approximate total: 10200m/s Delta V for the whole mission, including a lot of errors. You'd probably make it with just 10000m/s, but either way it's a lot. Use Kerbal Engineer, it'll let you know how much you have per stage and from there you can do simple addition to see if you have enough. -
I agree with your whole post, but this bit in particular. We only really have one proper rover base so far, and we could do with some more. Even 2 more would suit me fine. But enough of that, it's in the "what not to suggest" list (new parts). There's a point -gravity. I suppose this is something that'll just have to do, NASA deal with it. It doesn't bother me, all you really need to know is whether or not it can handle terrain and what kind of speed it can get up to. Stability will be harder to judge, but it's easy-ish to correct for.

How to get large ship into orbit?
Shna_na replied to donkey1364's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This is one beefy bertha. I'd suggest splitting it into two and launching each half seperately with an immensley powerful launch stage and docking them in orbit. -
I got banned from a Left 4 Dead 2 server for joining. Yep, that's genuine. I joined and got banned for joining.

You win this thread. That genuinely brought me to tears with laughter, good job. My favorite so far of mine? Hmmm... I'd have to say Billy-Boblo Kerman so far, that's the best I've had. I've also had Ellan Kerman, the first female Kerbal I saw.
-
That's awesome. I hope it's cosmetic as well, I'd love to be able to explode the VAB or terrorise the R&D center while it crumbles helplessly under the might of the kerbals who once built it. On sandbox of course, career is safe. Imagine breaking off that bridge on the R&D centre... Who wouldn't want to do that?

Voting is now closed. It looks like Documentary takes the biscuit, with 7 votes to 4, claiming 63.34%. Definitely not what I expected. I will start work on a poster for the craft and am now open to suggestions for modules to put onto it. Work will start on writing the first episode once the poster is complete. Final Verdict: Documentary Edit:I'm a little busy with a lot of work here. I'll try to release an episode at least every week, but it may be a struggle and there will probably be less graphical content (in terms of visual, not gore). The series will most likely start in April.

Looking at the replies, I can see that mods allow this. That's great, but I'd like it to be in stock KSP. Maybe implement it into the science research (eg: 25 science for "telescopic view of Duna from Kerbin Orbit" and 10 science for "telescopic view of Duna from Kerbin's surface").
-
I'm all for this, provided that there's a cap. For example - a TV satellite, "Kerbal Broadcasting Company", that pays you 25000 credits up-front to launch and orbit, and a further 500 credits per day for 50 days. This way it isn't a huge amount per day and you're only payed half up-front and receive the other half in long-term payments. I'd also like to see a break between launches, as I'm only on day 21 (I believe it's something around the 3-week region) and have almost exhausted science on Mun and Minmus. Maybe a 3-hour delay due to launchpad cleaning, during which time you could launch from the runway. This would give the player an incentive to explore more of Kerbin, as well as giving the research a little more realism and exhausting it slower. It'd also encourage the player to build more efficient crafts or multiple missions into one launch (such as sending a rover up with a space station core so that when the core has reached its destination the rover can be flown to its destination). The issue is that you can still launch rockets from the runway, and some players would abuse this. I say let them, unless you can come up with an idea on how to prevent it, because they're only ruining the game for themselves.

Ah, good good. That's reassuring to hear.
