Not as much a shuttle as it is a generic launch stage. Replicating the launcher used in real life is a good idea though, I'll get on that.
-
Yes, it would have an effect, but it would be minute. None other than the LV-1R engines come close to how little thrust they provide, and even that kind of thrust would need a specially modified exhaust that is built almost like an engine to achieve this. It would also be bigger than the LV-1R. In simple terms, no engines can be used. Yes, they can be put on the craft for aesthetic effect (as I did) but they cannot use any fuel or provide any thrust.

Nicely done! I'd suggest now making a boat that can fit on the flatbed, if you want to. Not needed, again, but it would give it more of a purpose. If you don't want to do it, I will . If that's the case, however, I'll need a link to a SpacePort post with the flatbed and semi as a download.
-
While I see your point, I think that if a solution can be made to stop that happening that wouldn't be too much more of an effort, then it should be done.
-
I like it... Do you think you could re-make it as 100% stock? It looks entirely stock with the exception of the axle. I know this would change its functionality but... Please? I'll accept it as part of the "modified class", but you'll need to add a link to the mods in that submission (just edit it into the post). I'd also like a link to the music, if that isn't too much trouble. Please?

Water: Landings vs Splash
Shna_na replied to Karretch's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The difference in science yield is the same as for any biome, the variation is due to repeat experiments and changes in altitude, as well as different types of experiment. -
I like the idea of being able to tweak suspension. maybe there should be suspension part itself even, one that's kind of... Mushy? I don't know how to word this at all, but you get the gist, right? Wording was a little confusing at the start, but I understand. I'd say this is an idea that could be easily abused - a player could just drive it in a circle endlessly and get infinite science. I do think that 1 science per 1Km of unique land on the Mun would be good though, with an increasing number of science/Km on each system, for example: 1Sci/uKm on Kerbin/Minmus/Mun, 2Sci/uKm on Duna/Eve/Ike/Gilly, 3Sci/uKm on Dres, 4Sci/uKm on Moho, 5Sci/uKm on Eeloo/Jool system (this could be tweaked for balance of course, but these are just examples). uKm = Unique Kilometer & Sci = science. The information should them be transmitted back at a rate of 100%, as with crew reports and EVA reports since it's basically the same. Maybe call it a rover report. Would this even work though? Since experiments are linked to biomes, I don't think this would be possible. It would be great if it was.
-
Wow, they're great. I'd say they pass (the "no propulsion" rule doesn't include fuel or fuel tanks, only actual propulsion). Think you could tweak it slightly so a Kerbal or two can fit into the semi? Not necessary, but advised. It seems like a plausible thing.

Ah... Well, let's move on once again! It's amazing how easy it is to stray into that zone, eh?
-
That's a great point that I hadn't considered. Cargo bays would be great, too. We already have moving parts that have the same kind of mechanism for something like this (the communotron, the landing legs, the solar panels...). Maybe the fuselages could be recycled and converted into cargo bays?

exploded, Amadeus Amadeus! A-madeus! <loop> "Once in space there was a pirate named BaconMaster McShnazzlehauffer who went over to NGC 7032, where he attached twenty large koalas to his pendulous nose with eighteen staples/apples from Dres. However/ unfortunately, he stepped on luminous frogs. Thus, he squelched to eat - the koalas drank bleach. This killed several hamsters which were on top of the sun. This killed several Jebediahs while he danced to dubstep, causing him and Sophia to suffer horribly without Bill, who was punished by God For treason Against kraken Mcpuffin. Henceforth, trilobites tossed children emphatically under ground where they imploded into nothingness then somethingness maximus horse meat, loathing the Orangutans who postulated why they require boosters betwixt...

As you may have guessed from my signature, true. The user below me doesn't know who Kevin Macleod is.
-
That's pretty good, but you can see why I'd prefer the parts from the trailer to be put into the game. It looks far better than the above craft (no offense intended) in my opinion.
-
I know (it was a great video, I must say), but my point is that it would be nice to see these things in the game. Who wouldn't want to have a first-person view of what their rover sees? I for one would enjoy that.
-
You do have a point. And I am aware of the "buy now" button and don't understand it. Will there be an option to put a price on your addons? I hope not. I will rectify the image issue, thanks for pointing it out.

Water: Landings vs Splash
Shna_na replied to Karretch's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hmm, strange. The science yield is no different, either way. The only difference between landed and splashed is that one word change, nothing else. -
I think a rover camera would be great. Also, let's look at this for a moment: Excluding what has been implemented, we can see: A different rover body to what is in the game What appears to be a rover camera Some kind of pole that probably serves a purpose Different wheels (I like the look of them, too).
-
True (though my comedy is rather bland, I will try): The user below likes the idea of boats in the game.

Great! Can't wait for your submissions .

Hi! I made a Hubble Space Telescope replica, as the title suggests. I say replica, but it's not perfect. It's pretty close though, probably as close as you're gonna get in KSP. I made a replica before this one, though it wasn't as good due to the limited parts of that version. This is essentially a mark II of that craft. It's 100% stock, though I forgot to mention this in the title as a prefix. Anyway, here's the Spaceport link, you can read about it there. I'll post the description for it here regardless: The Hubble Space Teleskope is back and better than ever. This iteration of the craft adds science capabilities, a new launch vehicle, and more accurate aesthetics. The launch vehicle has been completely thrown out and replaced with a new and improved version. This one is more aesthetically pleasing, with less sharp edges for your Kerbals to impale themselves on. It’s also very efficient with more than enough fuel to get you, potentially, to other planets! The new design is very compact, with only 22 parts! The action groups are all set: press “1″ to toggle the panels and “0″ to toggle the antennae. All you need to do it remember to close the intake on launch (Later updates of the game should ensure that you can set it to be off automatically, however). It’s all about the aesthetics! In a replica at least. A new, sleek design that look aerodynamically stable (still no stock fairings however) and handles like a charm due to its compact and light state. Since it’s been so well optimised for efficiency, this craft doesn’t strain your computer at all and shouldn’t result in any frame-rate sacrifices. It also looks far more like the Hubble Space Telescope than the previous version, since the updates to the game since then have provided more parts and flexibility. That and the fact that I took more care with the design. Thanks for the support on the 1st version of this craft, I hope you see some major improvements in this MkII version! And here's some screenshots:
-
I see your mods list there... Wow. Fully understood thanks though. I suppose you could try to make something and post it here. I'll let you know if it's stock and if it's good enough (chances are it'll be accepted). Might make an exception depending on how many of the mods are used in it, provided that we can identify which were used and link them into the submission.
-
None taken. Are you sure? It's kind of a challenge. I was unsure of where to put it but I think it's laid out kind of like a challenge, with the restrictions and whatnot.

6/10 +2 not cluttered and includes an image (difficult to do with detail kept) +1 Short, simple statement +1 That statement is true +1 Nice images +1 Potentially confusing image comes with a link to explain +1 My marking system is harsh and needs fixing..
-
True, I'd like to think (shame the previous was false). The user below me has never attempted any of the challenges on the forums.

Over 80 views and no replies? It's not the most challenging thing around, come on. Need a push or something? Fine, here's my little creation - The Buggy:
