Is this alternate solar system possible?
silversliver replied to ChrisSpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
@Spaceception In your simulations how is Vulcan's tail made? In my simulation resulted the opposite (more dust and less gas) of what I showed in the images (more gas and less dust).- 632 replies

Is this alternate solar system possible?

Those aren't impact crater. I'm not sure what they are, but I'm 100% sure that they aren't craters because I completely deleted the generation of those. The dichotomy is something that SpaceEngine can't do. Even with the use of strange parameters it's not possible to make specific localized geological features. Once I finished the internal system (until Dres).- 632 replies

Ok I managed to put ice caps. I used a parameter that I shouldn't use but you haven't heard nothing. Exactly. Basically I used this idea to keep the red deserts, I like them. Also last time I checked I was a He, but you can never be sure, strange things happens in outer space....- 632 replies

Thank you everyone who is following this mod. But the work is not over. Also there are other things to fix. -
Is this alternate solar system possible?
silversliver replied to ChrisSpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Next will be the moons of the gas giants. Hilarity may ensue. A) Yes. B)Yes, except for the water, I had to add more because I tried to put less water and it was not showing up. 1)I can put only a surface map so or water or ice. 2) The "stress" stripes were created by the random terrain generator.- 632 replies

Is this alternate solar system possible?
silversliver replied to ChrisSpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I like this. Now an update on things and a question. FINALLY tomorrow I should have enough time to finalize Mars and Bellona. Question is: do you imagine the surface of the alternate Mars more Earth-like or more Mars(OTL)-like?- 632 replies

Is this alternate solar system possible?
silversliver replied to ChrisSpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
The Roche limit is not a strict limit. It depends on composition. IT could be a moon made of compacted gravel and in this case would be destroyed even over the limit, or a moon made of high-density materials that could survive even on the inner part of the limit. Seems good.- 632 replies

Is this alternate solar system possible?

Ok one thing at time. About the intelligent octopus there's another problem: skeleton. Actual octopus don't have any and you need at least an hydrodynamic skeleton to survive on land otherwise even little gravity will crush you. BUT it's not written anywhere that you can only have a civilization on land, maybe under the ocean.... About the simulations with US2. The problem with this is that the program needs a large amount of variables to produce simulations, something that we're lacking. About the other moons of Spaceception; they're good but Mustafar needs to be further and less instable, I think that the solar system is meant to be stable to at least a few hundred years. @fredinno @Spaceception- 632 replies

Is this alternate solar system possible?
silversliver replied to ChrisSpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Once I read an extremely interesting article (I can't find it damn) talking about a particular type of dinosaur (similar to velociraptor) with a ratio body mass/brain mass much higher than other dinosaurs, and then the article explored how this species could become an intelligent and sentient one. However this was not possible for various reasons. First humans became intelligent (and sentient) because they NEEDED to be. Dinosaurs ruled for millions of years without any sign of advanced intelligence because they don't needed it, they were based on physical strength, not intelligence. Second think of dolphins or elephants or some other high intelligent animal. They aren't building spaceships or other things because they miss something to manipulate objects like, you know, an opposable thumb. Humans developed this because they hadn't claws or fangs, they needed tools. Dinosaurs had all sorts of claws and fangs, you don't need tools when simply with your hand or mouth you can kill your prey.- 632 replies

They say that a blue dwarf forms. Unlike normal star instead of expanding to radiate more energy, red stars should become hotter and blue. Then a white dwarf and a black dwarf.

I think that the Nibiru system will be under construction when the main solar system is finished, but if you have some cool ideas fell free to add. No, it was totally an ocean.- 632 replies

We'll see. Like because you posted an image of Space Engine. Once I founded a planet with more than 4000 atm pressure. Good times. 4)I'm finalizing Mars and Bellona, it's taking more time than predicted because I had to study some boring Philosophy. Hegel. Interesting guy.- 632 replies

Is this alternate solar system possible?
silversliver replied to ChrisSpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
1) Such a system of moons would probably be destroyed by gravitational instability 2)Such a thick atmosphere would crush everything on the surface, unless some gelatinous "blob"-like lifeforms (the more I think of this the more it seems a cool idea) Also if you see the first post there are already rouge planets passing near the solar system.- 632 replies
