I'd say that's recognizable.

Deconstruction of certain English phrases to their original forms, by the looks of it.

Not really crazy but worth noting - Last night I dreamt I was moving some heavy equipment in an underground Moon base. It was very easy, I could lift fairly large metal machines with ease. I guess my brain has decided it's mastered the simulation of complete weightlessness by now and is now focusing on improving simulation of nonzero weight environments.

Welcome, forumgoers! Many of us are engaging in the festive activity of drawing Santa hats on our otherwise typical forum avatars! I, too, have decided to draw an MS Paint hat on my picture! Those of you who have drawn hats on your avatars, come together here and show them off! Those of you who have not, feel free to join us!

The whole solar system! [drawings] [You can participate]

I suppose this counts: Got any suggestions for software to color this with an acrylic/oil style? OneNote is smooth with the pen, but otherwise I wouldn't call it a real drawing program... I also have an image of planets colliding in my head that's been there quite a while, maybe I can do it justice soon...- 894 replies

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?

That's a cute idea, but I'd be more comfortable if the "flaming" part engulfed less than the entire first stage. Makes me a bit nervous. -

It's probably going to be similar to however they make airliners.
-
They've started the difficult part, then!

If my understanding of airplane physics is correct, the issue with Mars is that the stall speed for a given plane is really fast. So no matter whether it's an ion plane, a propeller plane, or a rocket plane, you need giant wings and you can only land and take off at really high speed.

I don't mind if this is useful or not, I think it's cool!

Garlic bread.

Hahaha! That's...interesting that your brain did that.

Yeah probably. It's still pretty old school compared to what it would look like today, though. -

Started watching the original Star Trek series these past few days, as I've only seen a few episodes here and there but enjoyed them. -
Huh. I never really thought of that. I associate users and their words with their pictures, but not quite like that. So you imagine my words coming from a talking Rubik's cube floating in space? I kind of like that, actually.

Do you have some delta-V numbers for that? Looks like it might be able to cut it, but I suspect they had a big booster in the renderings for a good reason. The FSH version would also have a lower fuel/dry mass ratio. And it has to do a RTLS after separating from the ship.
-
They would have to make the cores a lot taller to do that. BFBooster is a lot taller than the F9 one. This might be as non-trivial structurally as Falcon Heavy was.
