  1. Aaaaaaaa aaa a aaAAAAaa. AAAAAAAA AA AAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAaAAA?
  2. Probably not visible in daylight...If this is true then maybe I'll get to see one in action after a future launch.
  3. It's a neighbor's roofline. I set the telescope up just close enough so I could pretend I was watching the moon rise. I think the eclipse is next month, July 27th or 28th. That's why it's confusing. Also I think I'm on the half of the planet that won't get to see it.
  4. https://imgur.com/a/4gHUeKT I got about a billion mosquito bites taking these last night, but they're pretty good.
  5. Having legs pop out of the heat shield would be problematic because it would entail having a hole in the heat shield. Personally, I would design legs that retract above the heat shield and wrap over the edge when deployed.
  6. Saturn is at opposition with the full Moon just north of it! I'm going to check it out when it gets dark. Maybe I'll even hazard a photo shoot.
  7. The fan works section is fairly well frequented, so as long as he posts fairly regularly it's sure to get some attention.
  8. I see the delay now on their website, I think 14:30 just looks like 12:30 and I didn't realize it had changed.
  9. Just land it on a big pillow right, parachutes are not precise like rockets...
  10. Why can't they just land the capsule in the desert every time? Seems like it works well enough, and makes it way easier to reuse the capsule. Also, what's the heat shield made of? Is it ablative?
  11. I hope the winds actually wind down for a change.
  12. Two nights ago I saw a bunch of fireflies blinking while I was watching Io transit Jupiter.
  13. Less, but still more than the actual cost of the flight, so they still make a significant profit on every launch while being the cheapest provider on the market.
  14. Wait, I think we might be overlooking a slight problem...do piano keys even work in 0-g? If not, you would need to incorporate a spring into the hammer mechanism. Also, I think a real piano would be awesome for morale, and an upright is only about 300 kg, so out of 150 t you could probably spare enough mass for at least an upright? That would be awesome to play the Blue Danube on!
  15. They are more environmentally damaging than rockets as we use them.
  16. Hadfield commented in an interview that he had to hold the guitar from floating away when moving his hand, and that it made his sound sloppy. Although not much playing is shown in the video, all the guitar sound was recorded in space.
  17. Indeed, better to deal with those container ships first.
  18. I volunteer for a space-themed suite for piano and robots. With a large enough volume, you could put pressurized air thrusters on the piano and have it fly around while you play. So many possibilities!
  19. No, but we have a Jupiter. If you swung really close you could probably get into a highly elliptical sun dive, the trouble is getting a sun dive that's remotely close to whatever comet you're trying to reach.
