  1. I'm probably going to write "spacex.com/webcast" on a few whiteboards tomorrow morning. The hype is reaching critical mass.
  2. Of course. It's still promising. Maybe if we could get at some of those ice reservoirs it could do it in one shot...The mere fact that we're making these speculations about a real rocket that's sitting on the pad right now is very exciting.
  3. So maybe if you did part/most of the braking burn with the S2 you could get a modified Dragon 2 based lander on the thing...I would sign up for that.
  4. I can wait 20 hours and 52 minutes, but not more than that.
  5. None taken. I don't make a post here every time I post a new song, so Soundcloud is the place to check for that. Speaking of my pixel art, I noticed that today is the anniversary of this thread. I posted this thread a year ago after my joke drawing of Sans Kerman started turning into a growing collection of pixel artworks. I figured I should make a special drawing for the occasion, so here's me in a spacesuit: And what do you know, possibly the Falcon Heavy theme you've all been waiting for coming soon too! I could probably do it in a couple of weeks if all goes well. I will also write my own theme song when I arrive in space.
  6. The webcast has been corrected to 10:30 AM PST, which is the window we have been expecting.
  7. I don't know, by now the planets are probably pretty close to a decent Hohmann transfer...
  8. This document says 1330 to 1600 EST. 1:30 to 4:00 PM.
  9. Yeah, I thought it was 1:30 EST but the webcast is set for 1:30 PST.
  10. The real question is why didn't they delay the whole deal by about 20 minutes? The ISS would have been able to see both the halftime show and the end-of-game fireworks.
  11. Heh, I sure will be! Well, I luck out in that it's sort of a free time and then launch would occur during... *lunch *explodes*
  12. I'm willing to bet there's going to be at least one post here for every second of the terminal count on Tuesday.
  13. I think he means simulation of an actual mission. There will still be a real rocket flying a sports car to interplanetary space. Unfortunately, if Elon has already chosen a song to be played during launch, I may not have a place for my music for this flight. I hope there is a "launch audio only" version I can use...
  14. Hey, pretty much everything here relates to the interests of most people here. That's why I think people appreciate it. And my music ties in directly to space exploration.
  15. Thicker clouds mean we get to see less awesomeness from the ground. (Also there tends to be extra turbulence in certain types of clouds.)
  16. The clock sound from my song is playing in my head every day now!
  17. In The Space Between Us, there was a lot of pretty accurate visual stuff. I noticed one guy carrying a pretty hefty looking box just by the corners on Mars, even through he was way in the background. They even grabbed a hatch design directly from the ISS, exit signs and all. The place they chose for the Mars base is an actual place on Mars, and a great spot for a science base. (It's right in the middle of the supposed flood plains.) So I give it props for that. But there's a lot of really important stuff that they flat out ignored. For instance, Earth-Mars video chat? Are you kidding me? Tulsa's laptop was probably worth ten billion dollars and she didn't know it. The artists also clearly had not been briefed on how orbits work, as it was all "straight up and straight down" and at unrealistically high altitudes.
  18. I suppose the engines can gimbal to help the boosters GTFO, as the pushers are surely not as strong as any variant of Sepatron rocket. I'm very excited to see it happen any way.
  19. Still noteworthy enough to make a difference in the music.
  20. I realized a couple days ago while thinking about how I'm going to write the launch theme that we could see both a successful mission and a spectacular explosion if there's an issue with a booster after separation.
