No. High quality rips -
Ask if she's been following the latest celestial event, like the upcoming 3200 Phaethon flyby, or spaceflight news like Elon's space car.

You'd have to pick your teapot carefully (this is very important, after all) and package it well, but it should be doable. Think of the time a pecan pie was launched on the Shuttle. It was only "a little squished" but otherwise fine.
-
I really, really hope there's a teapot on board...

I wonder if they will perform a circularization burn, maybe stick it at L5?

So it's not actually going to orbit Mars, but rather it will orbit the Sun with a similar semi-major axis as Mars? Because you'd need a pretty hefty sun dive to catch up to Mars at this time of year, and that's something I don't think FH is up to.

It still rains acid though.

You should probably make sure your windows are really thick lead glass...lots of x-rays and gamma rays flying.

Hmmm...what was the rotation like of the floating monolith at the end of 2001?
-
If they've just landed their spaceship on my planet, chances are they know a little math, enough to figure out "Hey, this thing is making patterns with that stick, maybe they are useful or meaningful to it". Also I never mentioned calculus. That can come later, but something like 2+2=4 would be conceivable, wouldn't it?

Which is why I would be clarifying our notation. Then they would hopefully show me theirs and we could find a common ground for communicating mathematically.

Face to face with an alien creature, I would leave them some math. The numbers in base ten, some basic operations, pi, i...Then I would indicate that they should write down their response. Language is probably a no-go for the first conversation, but math is universal. Maybe I would offer them a Rubik's Cube as a gift and demonstration of what humans are like. "We didn't have enough problems, so we made our own!"
