  1. You know you're a nerd when you want to buy a vacuum chamber just to put some oobleck in it.
  2. I don't often eat snacks while playing...need 100% focus to get those top-heavy asparagus monsters out of the atmosphere I do drink a lot of hydroxic acid though.
  3. I now have a science farm orbiting Minmus as well as on Duna...Now I've got a Minmus base on the to-do list, as well as rotating the crew on the Duna base, maybe dropping a rover too, and landing on Ike. Or maybe I'll land on Ike first, then bring the data down to the lab on Duna to science the **** out of it. Either way, I've got my hands full for a while.
  4. Some of them, at any rate. I wonder what would happen if any of the new ones went snooping around and found out about it...
  5. Does this happen on a clean install of KSP? If not, I'd suggest clearing out Logs/Kopernicus and trying again.
  6. That's weird. Did you merge the Kopernicus GameData folder with KSP's GameData, then install a planet mod? It should work if you do it like that. --Edit-- If no Kopernicus folder actually downloads, then I'd suggest talking to the developer.
  7. Have you been able to download other mods from Spacedock, Curse, or Github, or is it a problem unique to Kopernicus?
  8. Weird. If you did manage to get it to work, you could possibly (if you're into video editing) use a clip of mine, then cut to a random explosion. It wouldn't be quite what you asked for, but it would make it look just like the original. Have you tried CKAN?
  9. I don't think so. The only recent death star mod I know of is the one I made, which isn't designed to be destroyed because I have a little bit of knowledge about Kopernicus, and no knowledge about making parts.
  10. Looks beautiful as always! There are lots of people who would pay real money for art like this!
  11. Ooh, this is gonna be a really cool one, I can just tell!
  12. You wish yourself to death. I wish for untilted.txt.
  13. Empty clipboard. Figures, after a blue screen.
  14. Just put in its filepath in quotations and it will run itself forever. Do this in conjunction with another program and it will keep starting that program again and again, forever.
  15. When the most interesting thing you learned in school today is that you can get a .bat file to run itself.
  16. Aww, not again! I was just about to post in it! I respect all moderator decisions, though.
  17. In order to make a rocket in-game, you have to pay someone to build and fly it IRL.
  18. I just landed my first proper surface base on Duna! It came in two launches, one for the hab and one for the lab. I successfully landed them within about 800 m and docked them. Flag-planting will be tomorrow, as it's getting late today. http://imgur.com/a/CKveD
  19. Not many Americans. Circa 80% of the world's nations eat insects regularly (and not just in their sleep!). Bees will surely be useful in the long run, but growing grasshoppers as a primary source of protein would be substantially more mass-efficient and easier on the ecosystem, leading to a much more viable option than the aforementioned chickens, cows, and pigs (at least at the start). Mr. Musk (not to make this another SpaceX thread) has stated that his first Martian colonists are likely to die off of Earth, would it really be that much worse if they were crunching on grasshoppers instead of chickens? Fish, as you've said, are a pretty good option too, my only concern is that water is heavy. You don't need nearly as much water to grow grasshoppers than you do to grow tilapia, again saving substantially on mass and effort.
  20. That may be a topic for a new thread...I don't think these points are related to this one anymore. Growing insects in space instead of mammals conserves mass: http://www.the-scientist.com/?articles.view/articleNo/34172/title/Why-Insects-Should-Be-in-Your-Diet/ This is quite beneficial on spacecraft, where (as we all know too well) mass is not something to be taken lightly (no pun intended).
  21. Well, I feel like you'll be quoted sometime for this. It's really quite worthy of it.
  22. How'd they come up with this? I am pretty confident it wasn't by blowing air through his throat...
  23. I don't know how you just keep managing to make this story more awesome! I love how we keep getting answers, yet new questions continue to arise at the same time! Will there ever be a definitive end?
