  1. WHy use more RAM, KSP loads up to 4GB and then crashes... no sense in having anything over 6-8GB in total as KSP crashes well before that anyway. This game is one of the most buggy games out there, I'd swear it was a beta version with all the stuff that is broken: physics blowing stuff up, wobbling, oscillating, colonies disappearing, needing mods to add stuff the game should provide, just loading up everything into memory for no reason.... and that's only the stuff I've seen during the few days I've been playing. This could be the greatest game ever, but it's so broken I'm starting to wonder why I am wasting time and why I paid money.
  2. Hi Guys, I just did a fresh install of my KSP and put the GameData and Saves folders back, but I am missing all my custom/favorite parts folders I made. Does anyone know where these are saved in the KSP folder? - - - Updated - - - Nevermind ((( looking for 20 minutes, give up, ask on the forum, 10 seconds later find the .cfg file... story of my life... It's in the GamePlay/Squad/PartsList folder if anyone else should ask
  3. I run 64bit KSP because the 32bit will not run with more than a few mods (5-10), but I can't use EPL on this install. Is KSP just broken beyond repair with the memory BS? It's the only game I have ever played that loads up any and every texture and config into memory, who programs this stuff? The 32bit will not even finish loading at startup, and the 64-bit crashes every 30-50 minutes as well.
  4. I got feet down on the Mun with the rover/lifter. First attempt, kind of exciting as I landed while it was night so just looked away while mechjeb did the last burn. Found a new use for those space shuttles too

  6. Hi, I am building a rover to land on Mun that has engines attached on the side pointing down. I tried to do some landings (hyperedit is my friend) but the system thinks my engine is in the rear like that of a rocket, which send me full throttle 90° to where I want it to go when it does it's retrograde burn (funny stuff!). Is there any way to tell KSP I have my engines pointed in another direction?

  9. Weird, mine will not show the UI anymore after I went to 64-bit... But great to hear that you will go full support on a future KSP. Super work!
  10. Will the 64-bit version be supported? I have a ton of issues if I run 32-bit KSP and I am missing my EPL right now as it does not seem to work
  11. PS: How do you guys make you graphics look so amazing? Mine is set at max settings and it's still meh.
  12. OK, did some searching and came to a topic here about installing Unity 4.6.4 and replacing the KSP.exe and logo.dll files with 64-bit versions. It seems to work better now, less lag as well. The 64-bit version does not have the 4GB memory limit and my program is taking up about 5.2GB now. Fingers crossed it keeps working.
  13. I jut started work on my mega-station... fuel containers alsready launched and coupled, next section for containers being attached. The tanks are 15m and the tug installing the new section is 7.5m diameter. The plan is to attach engines to the bottoms of the 5 spherical containers and turn it into a space-faring colony to colonize the other planets one-by-one. After the containers (to store ore, rocket parts etc etc) will come the power generators and mining/conversion units to create LFO/Xenon and all the other necessary fuels. Next plan is to make a small un-manned colonizer assembly that I can send out to every planet to prepare things there before my kerbals arrive. Hey, you gotta spend your free time on something, right?!
  14. Yeah, if it crashes it is always on a switch to another building/ship. I have the exact same problem you describe Never worked with linux. Is there any way to do a multi-install next to win7?
  15. Hi, I am running some mods n my KSP install and am getting a memory leak issue. KSP reserves an evergrowing "private memory" portion that runs up to around 3GB before the program crashes (about an hours worth of play). Is there any way to see what is causing the leak, i.e. which mod? There is no crash log created that I can find in the KSP directory.
  16. Hi, I had some issues with these ports as well... don't know if this helps but: If you place the port most of the times it will stay transparant and not connect/attach. I found that if you place it very carefully (let it snap itself) and don't move the mouse cursor in any further, the prt will snap to the joint and turn green, it will connect properly then. To gte it right I sometimes need 4-5 attempts so I think the attach position is very finicky.
