Stock tanks and engines? If so you probably installed the optional patches that removes stock parts. Remove that folder.

That's because the Orion CM is a lot larger and the SM was only meant for LEO work. The Orion CM would need the HUS to do the same job as the Apollo CSM.

Well, I'm not suggesting there is any obligation by modders. I was referring to people making arguments that RSSVE is not updating because RSS is not working in 1.3.1 yet "so why would we expect rssve to come with an update". A large part of the problem with forum threads is that any info posted by the modder is drowned out by pages of other posts. Sometimes you'd want each mod to have two threads: one only for the modder to announce stuff and one for banter/support.

You can't blame people at this point in time. KSP 1.3 has been out for ages and RSS has worked on it for ages as well. To keep backing the argument that the outdated version of RSSVE still works well with an outdated version of KSP has no merrit and sets you back the same three steps as guys demanding upgrades. RSS is stable when using the localization patch. I've been using RSS since a few weeks after 1.3 came out, so I don't see the issue. As far as I know why RSS is not released for 1.3.x is that they have added stuff and prepared everything for the localization, but a 3rd party tool has not been updated yet to support 1.3.1 (which I find quite annoying as it's been over 6 months and it will probably never get updated). But that is a different issue and has no relevance here. Now that Scatterer is borked as well, it seems all the atmospheric mods are down and out?

You need lens flare!!!! And yeah, I'm having a blast with the new features. I'm revamping my entire NearFuture fleet at the moment, so much fun and it looks really awesome!

Is it thing where ships explode when seperating fairings? @Ogre1983 @RedParadize I've got my construction crew standing by for you guys.

Made a small update to the color presets as I am still playing around with them. Added Chrome, Aluminium, Yellow metallic, Green metallic and a second gold effect. Check back every few days as I might update them further while I play with the new metallic effects.

Step 3 is to force DX11 prior to step 2 so that you get the full benefit of your crayon pack instead of some hack legacy version forced on you by KSP @Ogre1983 Check my JPL patches, there is a presets file there with all my personal favorite (no pink, I swear!). You can't save presets in the game, you have to change the .cfg file in order to use a color you like later on. But if you want to make a color here are some tips: - First make the base color you want in a metal version using the three RGB sliders - Use the Specular slider to set the matte/gloss effect to your chosing. Abover 200 you will get a mirror surface with reflections - Use the Metallic slider to change the contrast between the lightest and darkest reflection. Darker means it looks more like a mirror/metal but will also be a lot darker in space. - What you see in the HAB is not what it will look like in space, as the HAB is lit from all directions, and there is nothing in space to reflect. I found the optimum to be 200 specular and 100 metallic, start from there and play around. You can always download my color file to get a start and see where the file is located so you can change your own file. Just be carefull not to remove any of the original colors, as a lot of parts refer to there colors and you bork the game if you remove them. (been there, done that, reinstalled SSTU).

So much fun!!! :))) So many options and combinations to try out. The greatest thing since sliced bread! I use this mod for the skyboxes (has 4 different ones at 4K)... https://spacedock.info/mod/1589/4k Resolution skyboxes for KSP You will need TextureReplacer Replaced at @RedParadize I use LightsOut which shows the skybox in night-mode, but it just get's a little darker; the VAB is still reflected. It would be cool to get a space preview. But the biggest culprit for having black ships is the Metallic slider. Keep that under 100 and you should be good-to-go for ships that are visible in space. https://spacedock.info/mod/1006/Lights Out

How many presets can you have? Working on lots of variants atm like aluminium, chrome, a few gold colors, copper, bronze... so much fun!!!! Aluminium with blue anodized accents on my 1.25m probe core

old? Yeah, the actual PF ones, the other shells which are now always white. Starts singing national anthem.

Euhm... [looking down, fidgeting with fingers] Anyone here with the skills to make the Procedural Fairing clamshell be able to use the recoloring GUI ? (I know mage will start steaming from the ears, so I won't ask him)
-
New version for the ColorPresets uploaded to implement the setting for the newly released SSTU version with PBR shaders. See first post for the download link. @Sudragon I've not used the SM yet, only the pod. Sounds like something is not scaled right and coliders are freaking out. I'll need to look into that at some point.
-
I'm ruined now.. whenever I add a stock part I think "dammit, where is the recoloring GUI". Maybe we can now have a coloring competition for X-Mas, who makes the most awesomely pimped rocket? ProTip if you are trying to figure out how the new sliders work: Specular = Shinyness, how much gloss/mirror effect the surface gets Metallic = Contrast, more/less difference between bright and "shadowed" part And just ofr fun... who said it has to be a rocket?
-
Gotcha, Mage! i thought it was just a metallic effect not related to the PBR, as I saw several PBR-labeled options. Is there a new location for the ColorPresets.cfg, or has it been renamed?
-
What's the difference with the PBR setting on the apollo CM vs the metallic (behind the scenes)? You can actually use the mft-a as the fuselage. I wasn't suggesting you make the parts, Mage. Imagine this effect on the OPT space plane parts @K.Yeon Check the last comparisson I added; it shows the sun reflection is optimal around 200 on the specular and disappears below and above that.

Re that LC2... I have reduced the reaction wheel force to half of the stock one to not have it wobble all the time (sas too powerful). NB: I tried PlanetShine, but it doesn't help. You can see the earth reflected in the parts, but everything else is black (no color). What I am noticing is that the sun is not reflected at all, unlike the planets. Could that an issue, Mage? Metallic is at 100 for all these parts... Specular set to 50/100/150/200/250 from L to R... As you can see the sun no longer reflects at 150 or 250. ±200 seems to be a sweetspot for being able to see the sun glare. At specular 250 you can see the earth start to reflect, but the color gets darker in space (yet very reflective in the VAB). On the capsule I have 220 specular and 100 metallic, which seems to be my compromise to have color and some reflections. Maybe the PBR version will offer improvements when recoloring becomes available? And a parting shot as I go play the game for a change I'll rework my personal color settings for those interested, if I can find the new presets file
