Teaching Aliens English (Or any other Human language)
Spaceception replied to Spaceception's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Assume the crew of the Starship (And the space agency/s that launched it) is peaceful without (Much) weaponry (For defense). -
It's late spring, the year is 2063, and Humans finally develop a Alcubierre warp ship named the USS Millennium, they decide its first mission is to go to Epsilon Indi 11.9 lys away which has a Near-Earth twin orbiting it. The journey takes 6 weeks to traverse the 11.9 light years, and they fall into orbit around the planet. Shortly after, scanners find it has a breathable atmosphere, and comfortable temperature, and 5 crew go take a look down at its surface. However, they drop down less than 1/2 of a km from a tribe, a large Alien tribe that seems to have 11th century technology. Disregarding some sort of "Prime directive" How would humans explain their technology and language to a young Alien race?

How long does a star like VY cm live anyway?
-
I personally prefer Falcon Heavy to Vulcan, because they'll be landing the entire first stage and boosters on landing platforms as opposed to Vulcan where they'll only be recovering the Engine block.
-
Which Heavy lift rocket is Better/Cooler in your opinion, and why? Now lets have a healthy discussion about heavy lift rockets . By the way, The reason SLS, Delta Heavy, (Or other heavy lift vehicle) Isn't here, is because I wanted to just talk about two really cool rockets that are launching in the near future .

Is this alternate solar system possible?
Spaceception replied to ChrisSpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
You should ask a modmaker who has experience making star packs to make it into a mod, and what did you mean by "Alternate history project" anyway? And instead of "Pandora" How about "Jakku" in honor of "The force awakens"- 632 replies

Is this alternate solar system possible?
Spaceception replied to ChrisSpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I would LOVE to live in a solar system like that, So. Many. Earthlike. Places. Although, I don't know how the physics in such a system would work, maybe someone should make a mod out of it? Also, Pandora is a reference to "Avatar" isn't it?- 632 replies

parts [1.12.x] 'Project Orion' Nuclear Pulse Engine
Spaceception replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
That was a pretty cool documentary. When is the "Mini-Mag" Orion going to be released? Just wondering. -
I agree, we won't be able to find stuff out like a breathable atmosphere, and warm temperatures on exoplanets, at least until we launch the JWST, but discovery's of planets inside the habitable zone are still pretty cool. Also, I realized that it should've been in "Science and Spaceflight" after I posted it.

I just put up a poll Btw.
