  1. Honestly Laythe's atmosphere is unimpressive and could easily be accomplished if the aforementioned density wasn't unrealistic, just look at Titan.
  2. Use heavy lead shielding for high-energy proton and electron radiation? Lol, that is a terrible idea. Lead, and in fact no metals at all, should not be used to shield the particle radiation inside any magnetosphere, that would simply induce Bremsstrahlung causing an increase in x-rays inside the vehicle. This radiation only needs to be shielded by wood, plastic, water (or urine built up over time is a suggestion i've heard), acrylic, basic insulation (as was used in the Apollo missions). And when metal must be used on a ship, the best option is the least dense metal possible that could satisfy the need. As for the matter of shielding yourself on Laythe, I would recommend either a submarine/subterranian base which would cut down on mass required to take there significantly along with the mild/occasional use of medicines currently being tested by NASA that slow cell division and allow cells to heal from damage
  3. Not saying it is a scam but... "what would they gain?"... that part seems fairly obvious if it was a scam seeing as the entire purpose of any scam is to make money.
  4. Your comment shows a fairly decent amount of ignorance. First off, one engine failing does not prove its multi-engine-out capability, it proves its single-engine-out capabilities. The Falcon 9 has not had any losses because there have only been 6 launches, the Shuttle went 24 flights without incident before Challenger. Also, everyone is treating the Falcon Heavy like its the F9, which it isn't. I will admit they are very similar, however they are not the same, and until the Falcon Heavy has been proven, it is not to be treated as a proven launch platform. Hell, the FH was an idea created before they likely even finished design of the F9 seeing as they are still testing new engines to see if they will work better. As much as I love and even borderline worship SpaceX, but there is no such thing as a perfect rocket and until a concept is tested itself, it isn't proven
  5. I feel like the change in power usage would be so minimal it wouldn't make much of a difference.
  6. I swear if you mess this up i will write an angrily worded message to you... Good luck
  7. I'm not going to dowload this now as my game is mod heavy and this is currently a early WIP, but know that I shall return when this is more advanced. I see a beautiful mod in the works.
  8. guys i dont think we are going to get anywhere with this until someone breaks out the handy dandy orbital mechanics lesson book
  9. did you use it properly? meaning did you launch once, restart and then do rendevous so that ascent will know how long it takes to reach altitude?
  10. in all honesty, the real shuttle even keels over backwards... which is odd since all the weight should be going forward with the tank
  11. that just makes it even more kerbal, now get to work on making them explode when they land
  12. M\'Yes, now I can begin to send my army of tanks to crush the moon resistance.
  13. I believe this would be due to the fact that turning creates ever so slight changes in speed so leaving something on in a way that would make it turn would cause it to change speed and orbit very slowly
  14. Well now that isnt a problem due to the .14 release
  15. Lol spoilers Now on a serious note, would it be possible to mix the oxygen plugin that is being created with the LOX or would that just be to hard?
  16. Also, just so y\'all know, it works great for space debris removal, just remember to put debris at the end of the name of the ship.

  18. I bet they explode like soviet ships though.
