Oh - have you used AMD’s software to record anything? What is your overall experience with AMD in its current state? -
What have you been playing recently? (Other than KSP)

I had hoped to be able to answer 'nothing'. ... Now I'm scrolling here for ideas -

Seeing as your monitor is virtually the same as mine, would you mind checking FPS * driving near KSC * flying near KSC * Orbit of Kerbin - both looking at the planet and away And On or near any other body - with the body/ground in frame? (I have performance for Minmus - but whatever body you might be near in regular play would be appreciated. FWIW - the in game fps counter reports the same as the Nvidia one - but it is kinda hard to read. ) TIA -

How's the game performing at 4k? I'd pretty decided to skip this Gen - but 15 fps on Med settings is giving me headaches. Not going to jump too soon - but I might if the first two patches don't improve performance. I'm not a sff guy - but having looked around I might need a new case anyway ;/ Weird part of the game is that sometimes I'm getting a playable 25-35 fps with the 3070, and then it's clunking along at 12-15. That alone has me waiting. -

Preach! FWIW I recently got into a discussion with an artist and an engineer about clay and ceramics. Thank god I'm a science nerd! -

Yeah - and the old rule of thumb was that concrete was forever curing. Not to mention that most of it is vapor permiable and... Let's just say I'd be interested in the tech specifications. It's been a long time since I looked into this! -
Laughing too hard to record it... But as the description the dang Thang had a mind of its own. First thought was 'that's a disappointing animation' (faring shooting off like straw blown paper)... But the 90 degree turn and acceleration into the atmosphere was the kicker. 4k Med settings

Has there been anything about differential curing of the concrete due to the engine testing? Not that there necessarily would be - but I do know that foundations exposed to a house fire often need replacing. -
KSP2 EA Grand Discussion Thread.

You would have to have been here for a while. Context is that Vl3d actually wrote out a series of threads and posts outlining a comprehensive MP game based on the Kerbal universe. They may still be accessible in the pre release archives. -
A week in... 10% still playing

Now I'll be thinking about Dante all day! I'm not certain how I've come across over my day and a half of losing my patience and expressing that freely... But the theme (at least for me) is that reputation damage has been done to the series and nothing was apparently being done to correct the downward course. You are correct - it's their job to manage this very public pay-to-Alpha experience. But like any other denizen of the gaming internet, I get to carp! -

KSP2 EA Grand Discussion Thread.
JoeSchmuckatelli replied to James Kerman's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Kept things very simple. Tried to do stuff that would be successful and fun. Small part count craft. Efficient gravity turns. Docking and undocking. Landing where I wanted to. Found a lot of bugs... but actually enjoyed most of the gameplay. -
I've got Val up in space in a save. Craft is basically a lander, fuel can and a terrier. Normal eastward orbit ~80km. I've enough fuel to do a normalization burn (to get my orbit to pass over the crater) and then decelerate from orbit to get a landing. I keep falling WAAAAAY short. How do you guys eyeball this? How far 'in front' of the intended landing spot should I put the PE/impact point to both account for the rotation and the air resistance? I'd like to drop her on the island.

I like all the 'space' ones better in KSP2... but, yeah, the variation of the in-atmosphere effects in 1 was cool
-
I don't think that's wheels. I've had rovers just randomly spin out. I'm thinking these are vertices that we're impacting... ground vertices.

I get what you were saying. And - I get it. They're probably swamped and overwhelmed with all the problems and bad press (which there is no possible way they've been sufficiently insulated from) that they are likely, actively, looking for posts of 'what is working' and 'what people are enjoying' - if nothing else as a stress relief or motivation boost. Trust me - as a guy who's SNARK has come out full force this last day and a half; I get what you're saying. We're all feeling that way!

This is a really weird one. I set up a craft with two landers, docked to each other, in the VAB with a Kerbal in each and built a lifter for them. Launched to LKO to practice docking. After umpteen tries, got into a stable orbit and went to practice. Only to discover I only have one Kerbal in one craft. So that's weird. And it doesn't stop there. So Val was the one Kerbal I had. I got her to orient the craft for docking and then hit "[" to go to the other ship and get it oriented. Tried to get it to orient to target (other docking port)... I get the message "No Vessel Control" (this is where I discovered the other Kerbal had disappeared between the VAB and this attempt). So okay; Kerman Kerbal chickened out. Fine. When I go to switch back to the ship Val is in... I get the message above. Observer can't leave active vessel. Damn. Val is stranded. Tried switching in the Tracking center - but that did not work. Went back to map view to try the [ and ] - still no joy. But then... I discover I can switch to the other ship by doubleclicking it with the mouse. That's also kinda weird. Okay. So I have Val again. Easy peasy. I'll EVA to the other ship, get her to point the docking port in the right direction, and then dock. No sweat, thinks I. So I EVA'd Val to the other ship... and as I landed her on it - it disappeared! ... This keeps getting weirder; I spot 'debris' nearby (but at 5.3 km) and hit "[" - and it's the ship I just put her boots on! The thing teleported 5km. So now hitting "[" and "]" switches me back and forth between the empty landers - and I can see Val in the distance but not switch to her! ... and this is where it goes totally off the rails. Still looking at the empty lander, I hit hold target or prograde or something... and the pilot-less, pod-less, empty lander decides to start rotating... ...when this happens: That is the spinning craft. I switch to the other one, and you can see it is drifting lifelessly with this monstrosity doing it's Kraken Dance in the distance.

Just quibbling with this; you do, actually sell games by catering to - or at least taking care of - the people who bought the game. Especially a title like Kerbal; they really need word of mouth and positive reviews for people to give it a shot. To that end, taking care of us, here, who've bought into the Paid Alpha experience will be rewarding... or at least help to stem the tide of bad press. I can (heck we all should be able to) see the outlines of what they want to accomplish, and know what the game is supposed to look like when performant (on the base level of functionality) and can see the layer of improvements they've tried to apply. It is certainly ambitious, but all of that is hidden behind the wall of thorns (things that should work from the old KSP, not working in 2).
