  1. Aww, my plane blew itself up using its own missiles 3 consecutive times. Damn you lady luck.
  2. @Alphasus What's the deadline this time?
  3. @Alphasus Are multiple entries allowed? And when I mean multiple entries, can we not only have 2 different planes fighting in a battle, but also submit two designs to fight independently?
  4. I thought maneuverability was very important for dodging missiles?
  5. The updated version is slightly heavier than the current version you're running, and I've noticed almost all the fights have been decided with AIM-120's. I'd much prefer less firepower for slightly improved maneuverability in this case.
  6. They're looking good! But I also want to say that the version of my plane you're currently running isn't the updated version I said I made. Although I'm surprised how well my plane is doing right now, so I don't mind if you keep it in.
  7. I updated my craft to a version with more reliable missile launching.
  8. The rotary bomb rack was completely non-functional. Didn't solve the problem, didn't rotate even when a missile was manually fired. And the problem is, if I can't even get a design as simple as 3 missiles on 3 railings inside a single mk2 cargo bay to work, I can't really try out a new design.
  9. I do have the missiles in a single mk2 cargo bay, and missile railings + restarting didn't solve the problem.
  10. Last minute help questions: I've put my AIM-120's on a 1x1 structural panel (no railings) inside an mk2 cargo bay, and they frequently fail to launch. I have set the cargo bay setting to true on each missile, so does anyone know why they're failing to launch most of the time? Mechjeb2 refuses to work on my system, but KER does. @Alphasus Is it possible for you to check for me on your computer what my plane's dry flight time is in mechjeb2? Or will you allow the dry flight time that KER calculated (Which was 38 minutes)? And do you take custom flags?
  11. The missiles have a right-click setting that tells them whether they're inside a cargo bay or not.
  12. Can you elaborate what "angle" is needed? Also, what are you adding onto your fighters that make them 20 tons?
  13. If you're using panther engines, dry flight means running the engines without afterburners.
  14. Since I'm the kind of guy who works with big, noisy planes, do ECM jammers actually work on smaller, sleeker designs?
  15. A strangely appealing and majestic picture of my strangely designed SSTO.
  16. I feel that you should change the requirement for engines to be panthers if you're talking about fighter aircraft. In BDA air to air combat, most fighters use panther engines not only because of maneuverability, weight, and low-altitude fuel efficiency, but also because whiplash engines are very easy for heat-seeking missiles to track. Whiplashes not only have a much greater lock-on range, they're also much harder to break missile locks with. It is possible to break the lock of a heat-seeking missile with only 2 flares with panthers, but you need several times the amount of flares if your plane has whiplashes, since they can't get rid of their shock diamonds. Yes, you can reduce the heat signature by turning the engine off, but then that basically makes a fighter immobile, which offsets that.
  17. Also, I noticed your aircraft has a non-BDA flight AI (The one that looks like an antenna). On my computer, this prevented competition mode from working properly. I'm not sure whether this applies on your computer, but at least keep a lookout.
  18. Welp, here's my entry. (The one in the beginning of the name is for ease of selection in SPH. Remove it when listed on the OP.)
  19. The AI hasn't been updated to shoot down both enemies AND missiles, you still gotta choose one or the other. Yeah, an AI set to shoot down only missiles has the possibility of retaliating against other planes, but that's very unreliable, if you recall my last match And setting only one plane to shoot down only missiles isn't a universal solution either. Even my precious laser sharks can be overwhelmed with enough AIM-120s.
