  1. I've been tweaking a prototype carrier for my Ant Science Landers. The carrier holds 4 Ants, a Science lab, and an ISRU. Ore Scanners and Claws in cargo bays: Optional surface refueler and some ore in tow First test mission coming up soon!
  2. The surface base is part of a large science harvesting and infrastructure building expedition, many of the larger pieces were "Nuke Tugged" out to Duna, several others got there and landed under their own power.
  3. I've just finished landing and assembling a @Rune Base in a Box on Ike, I was able to land the entire assembled box with just a fully fueled Orca, no need to break it up and take it down piece by piece!
  4. Wow, I saw this in the WIP thread and thought it was some sort of launcher.. A 1km long fairing railway is impressive!
  5. Good stuff @Castille7, that single launch space station is YUGE!
  6. "Avenger" rocket launched mini shuttle. Two Junos and a Terrier let it get around a bit in Vac or Atmo. https://imgur.com/a/8dFjd Pain in the "S" to land but doable
  7. Ore Can 3 is a VSSTO that can lift ~50 tons with 3 ore cans as a payload. Fully recoverable booster! https://kerbalx.com/PointySideUp/Ore-Can-3
  8. I've uploaded a few more craft files, a versatile small lander, an updated frigate, and my ore launcher for refueling ships and stations. Orbital Science Ant Frigate Updated Science frigate with an Ant lander and a few modular attachments https://kerbalx.com/PointySideUp/Orbital-Science-Ant-Frigate Ant Science Lander Loaded science lander with ~3500 dV and a cabin to store reports before hopping to another biome! https://kerbalx.com/PointySideUp/Ant-science-lander Ore Can 3 A booster that puts 3 ore cans into orbit, then gets recovered for a refund! https://kerbalx.com/PointySideUp/Ore-Can-3
  9. I've been working on a small science lander that will fit in a CRG-50 double cargo bay. It has a full science suite including the science jr and a cabin to store those science results before hopping to another biome with it's 3500 dV. I've also come up with several ways to transport and store them, not sure which I like the best. I'm calling this lander the Ant because of its size, industrious nature, and also the cones on the front remind me of ant pincers.
  10. I've been testing several variants of this airframe for a while now, this one seems pretty good so far. With a refuel stop or two at my stations or bases, I can pretty easily cover all rescue, plant flag contracts and crew rotation in the LKO/Mun/Minmus area. Built in abort 'chutes to save the crew cabins!
  11. Two new ships uploaded, the Orbital Science Command Cruiser (.29twr 8000dV) and Orbital Science Frigate (.27 twr 6300dV). Either can pull a load of ore or station parts/ships to gather and process science points in a BIG way, far away! https://kerbalx.com/PointySideUp/Orbital-Science-Command-Cruiser https://kerbalx.com/PointySideUp/Orbital-Science-Frigate
  12. I got to orbit on my third try, it is a bit unstable at some speeds, worse with the top tank empty. It takes a light touch and barely any input for it to stay "Pointy side up"
  13. I've been playing with designs for another heavy nuclear tug, I really like the stubby little one, but the larger one (last 2 pics) has more crew cabins and a bit more dV at 7000.
  14. Sunken Spanish treasure ship off the Cape Canaveral coast? I just sent 2 of these express sized Nuke Tugs with Base in a Box mining kits out to Jool.
  15. Sweet Cobra! Really nice job on this one!
  16. I've been working on a new nuclear family of ships, a small, medium, and huge, plus a nuke powered shuttlecraft. The ships have 6000 dV or more and twr ~.25 to .30 in LKO. I still need to make the launcher for the huge one
  17. Sweet orbital towtruck man! Some cool lines on it.
  18. Nice work, it makes me want to RUN! GET TO THE CHOPPA!
  19. Nice! I've got a few designs like this, using SRBs and aerospikes to get to orbit fast and cheap! I've built in some emergency abort 'chutes so I can recover the kerbals even if I can't land the plane for some reason
  20. Here's a "little" something I've been working on, another science cruiser, based around the general shape of my SledgeHammer ship, but much smaller. The Tack Hammer! Shown next to my largest cruisers, JackHammer and SledgeHammer. It gets to Minmus for refueling and holds 8 crew, but It's too small to add a mobile lab. I might send it out to Jool anyway
  21. The Ion Scooter has a starting TWR of 0.14 so burn times will be long if you try to go interplanetary with it. I've used it as an ore scout and rescue stranded Kerbal vehicle around Gilly and it works great for those short sorties around a base or larger ship. My design goal was functionality that fits in a tiny spot.
  22. Ion Scooter released! This little scooter was designed to fit into a small Mk2 bay, a 2.5m service bay, or other small space on a larger cruiser. It has all of the small science instruments and just shy of 9000 dV. https://kerbalx.com/PointySideUp/Ion-Scooter
  23. It's one of several Ion Speeders I've made, but not released. I'll upload it to KerbalX soon
