I feel like there are places to discuss this better than on the General Discussion forum...

How about we go the other way around? Give Eeloo a moon, name it Kerberos or something along those lines.
-
It's cause the heatshield is pretty heavy, keeping the center of mass lower.
-
I don't do them much, I do ones to orbit or whatever because they're quick, but ones that have things like landing on the Mun and then minmus are just ridiculous

The Saga of Emiko Station - Complete
Choctofliatrio2.0 replied to Just Jim's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Yeah, they are. I was just saying I haven't noticed many obvious benefits. And I was surprised, because the laptop I use for games and recording youtube videos is pretty awful. -
The Saga of Emiko Station - Complete
Choctofliatrio2.0 replied to Just Jim's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I think I have an i7... So something in my laptop is actually good? That's crazy! It doesn't seem too useful on the surface, but I guess i7 is good enough for me to record KSP with little framerate issues. So I like it. -
Redone Science
Choctofliatrio2.0 replied to Windspren's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I disagree with this. This would mean that using a Kerbal would be a waste in basically every scenario. The way I see it, crew reports and EVA reports are about the Kerbal, not the environment. They take medical readings of the astronauts in the ISS to see how space affects them. This is what I see these reports as being. -
Problems with KSP 1.1
Choctofliatrio2.0 replied to coyotepunk05's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I love 1.1, I think the game is a whole lot prettier. My only 2 real complaints that happen a lot are: Game crashing frequently, especially in VAB and SPH Oftentimes, the part menus that can be opened in flight are unclosable (I checked, no, they aren't locked), and it won't let me open any more. Other than that I think it's a good update -
Steam achievements
Choctofliatrio2.0 replied to r4pt0r's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'd love to have achievements. It wouldn't be that difficult picking them, World's Firsts are basically achievements, modify them and you have a good list. -
That sounds... very complicated. There's lots of parts in KSP. How will you know what steps to do to unlock each one? I think it'd slow the game's progression to a crawl, having to do multiple missions to unlock every single part. Then, having to order each part from R&D would ruin building rockets for me. I like to tinker in the VAB, see what works and what doesn't, what looks pretty and doesn't. Having a limited number of parts would require planning in detail crafts before I build them, and that sound very un-fun to me :/
-
I honestly couldn't care less about the action groups. The 30 part limitation means I'm not going to be building huge jets or interplanetary missions with lots of different action groups, until I upgrade. The way I see it, action groups are part of a ship's automation. I think in the early space program, the Kerbals know very little about actually automating their ships and satellites, and have to manually command it to do things. Just my two cents.

fairings and loss of clicking stuff
Choctofliatrio2.0 replied to AlamoVampire's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've had it happen to me, but not with fairings. It's happened pretty frequently on spaceplanes, though. Very inconvenient when I need to transfer fuel. -
Hmm, alright, I'll try it. I have bad memories with RAPIERs though, of them devouring all my oxidizer right when I switched to rocket mode and the plane plummeting into the sea.
-
As the euphoria of building an SSTO faded, the realization that it is horrible sets in. A few important things: Half the time it incinerates in the atmosphere It requires a generous kick from monopropellant to actually make orbit I'm pretty sure it's worse than my first version :/
-
So I built my first working SSTO recently... sorta. I call it "Old Semi-Reliable." It can make it into orbit sometimes, if I fly it right, and with major help from monopropellant. My flight path is using the jet engines, flying at about 15-20 degrees until the engines become worthless around 20km. Then, use the aerospike to get out of the atmosphere. The main problem is that the oxidizer gets eaten up really fast. If I try and fly lower and gain more speed, the plane burns up. So I am asking for assistance. Any suggestions to improve the design (without radical changes), or changes to the flight plan would be infinitely appreciated

The Grand KSP 1.1 Discussion Thread
Choctofliatrio2.0 replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I like it. VAB view felt strange but now it feels a lot better. The parts look... cleaner, brighter, I guess. Something about the game just looks a lot better now. But that's just my opinion. -
Set your computer in a vat of liquid nitrogen. That would solve your problem quick.
-
Interesting idea! I'll try one of these orbits, they look pretty.
-
It works for me, I think. Course, it may be because 90% of the time dialog boxes I open are unclosable, no matter what I do.

The Grand KSP 1.1 Discussion Thread
Choctofliatrio2.0 replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't mind the UI (Navball is a bit large, but whatever). I love the scroll menus. Before, I'd just click through aimlessly trying to find what I'm looking for. It's easier now. Crashing IS an annoying problem, especially on PC. Hope it doesn't start happening on my laptop, when I'm recording. -
I think you can use whatever flag you want in a save, but caution should be used when showing screenshots. People tend to not like talking about those folks who controlled Germany once and did bad things.
-
Thanks! I haven't tried deorbiting it yet, I doubt it'll work, just because of human error I've been working on adapting the design to use the inline cockpit so I can put a docking port on the nose. Using an inline port made the ship unstable.
