  1. That's very strange. I'm very sorry and I can't say that I can help. This hasn't happened to anybody else to my knowledge so I doubt it is a problem with Extrasolar.
  2. I like the lore behind it. Could you suggest a name for it as well?
  3. I will definitely create a lava planet in the future. However, I hollow planet would most likely collapse. Also, even if it were possible for a planet to be that dense, the creation of the black hole would emit a lot of energy and destroy the entire planet. I do like the lava planet idea though.
  4. I don't think the problem is one mod in paticular, I think it's just the number of mods which is the problem. Try downloading the Active Texture Managment mod and see if that solves the issue.
  5. Not yet. That'll definitely be something I will add in the future.
  6. Wow! That's really crazy! I never thought the KottabosGames would feature my mod. You don't know how happy I was to see this. I definitely like the idea. Very spicy! I'll try it out and maybe give it a more pronounceable name
  7. Yeah I know. Do you know a way to make completely custom color maps? Searching through the near-infinite space of Space Engine seems like a very ineffective and not legitimate way to make planets.
  8. I was thinking about the Gliese 667 system. Its a triple star system with a habitable planet, and I think that would be interesting to try out. If you find any habitable star systems with a bunch of confirmed exoplanets, be sure to tell me so I can check it out.
  9. Thanks! I've been getting a lot of feedback from you guys and it's really keeping me motivated to continue development. Once I start nearing the final stages of this mod, I might try to make another mod that adds a real alien solar system to be used with RSS. Do you think that's a a good idea for the future?
  10. Interesting idea. I definitely like it. Once I think of names for them, I'll put it into the "Planned Exoplanets/Exomoons" section and credit you.
  11. Good idea. However, it sort of reminds me of Laythe, but I'll try to spice it up.
  12. No. Its nowhere near the orbits of OPM planets. Valentine is extremely far away (.5 light-years in the realistic scale option, .05 light years in the stock scale option). That's why I recommend mods that add interstellar propulsion, so the trip to Valentine is still hard, but a bit quicker. Thanks much and no problem! I'm really excited as well. Next update will probably add moons to most of the planets in the Valentine System along with some minor tweaks. If you have any ideas for those moons, please give me suggestions. I intend to have a bunch of moons in orbit around Lomina and its getting pretty difficult to come up with ideas for its moons
  13. What do you guys think of version 0.2? I added a lot of new things and I want to see what you guys think of it!
  14. NOW PACKAGED WITH EXTRASOLAR BY DEFAULT. DOWNLOAD HERE
  15. That sounds like a cool idea. If you ever end up doing that, make sure to include the less known planets so that it's more of an adventure. Good luck!
  16. What I would recommend to start off is to use another person's mod as the framework and edit the planets so that they're the way you want them. After a while, you'll get the hang of it and will be able to do it mostly by yourself. Also, there are a lot of great tutorials out there for this sort of thing. For normal, height and color maps, use space engine. Space Engine procedurally generates planets that you can export, so it's guaranteed your planet won't look like anybody else's.
  17. Yeah, definitely. I'm in no way extremely good at modding, and I've been having a lot of trouble with oceans and rocky planets in general. I will try to make this planet as soon as possible, maybe in the update after next.
  18. Hi, I am in the process of making a planet pack called "Extrasolar." It adds the star Valentine in orbit around Kerbol as well as adding planets that orbit around the new star. I am in no way a pro at modding, and I can't seem to figure out how to put oceans on my planets. Could somebody explain to me how to do this? Please go into as much detail as you can. Thanks!
  19. No they are not scaled to stock sizes. I am planning on making rescale mods compatible, but this is version 0.1, so there are a lot more important things to be focusing on. Pictures are not available at the moment because there aren't really any planets to be shown off for now, just the star. Like I said, I have only put this up at the time I have just to get it out of the way. I am almost done with planets Heba and Lomina, and I'll probably be completely finished with those two planets by the end of tomorrow. I'm still in the process of making the planets. I'll probably be done with Heba and Lomina tomorrow. Once I am, I'll put some screenshots up. Thanks! I wan't to try to make this planet pack a compilation of other people's ideas along with my own.
  20. EXTRASOLAR Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike This mod is still under development. You may visit the new thread by clicking here or the link at the bottom of this post. WHAT IS THIS? The Extrasolar mod adds the red dwarf star "Valentine" to the Kerbol System. Orbiting Valentine are several new planets and moons to discover. Because Valentine is so far away, you will probably have to download some mods in order to make the trip easier. Extrasolar is compatible with 1.3.1 and up. DO NOT INSTALL THIS FROM CKAN! 21. Hey guys! After much searching, I have finally found a decent solution! Download the mod "Kerbal Weather Systems." The mod is for .90, but it is compatible with 1.0.5, although I'm not sure the same will be said when 1.1 comes out. You will have to deal with some extra "features" that you may or may not like, but it still works very well for me. If you don't want the extra "features" just don't download Ferram Aerospace, and that should solve it. The textures for the clouds and such are basically the same as EVE. Hopefully you guys will have the same luck! Link to Kerbal Weather Systems: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/86596-090-kerbal-weather-systems-alpha-053-wip-jan-2/
  22. Yes I have. I have had no luck looking at the mod thread. Do you know of any other mods that add clouds to Kerbin and other visual effects? If I could find one, I could just use that instead of EVE.
  23. So I am having some strange problems with Environmental Visual Enhancements. The daytime clouds only appear on one side of Kerbin and the other side nighttime clouds, regardless of whether it is daytime or nighttime (basically, half of the clouds appear black, the other half appears white). The side that has the white clouds is determined by the direction I last looked at Kerbin in the map view. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I think I have seen this happen to other people, but I can't seem to find anyone who has actually solved the problem. Thank you in advance.
