[1.1.2] Realism Overhaul v11.0.0 May 8
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to Felger's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yessssssss, I've been waiting for this. Thanks to everybody who helped! You are appreciated. -
Inquiry about a clean 1.0.5 install
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to Kerbin vonKerbal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I tried and it goes to 1.1, so maybe I'm just out of luck. Also so I didn't even think of that bit about file sharing. Oops. I swear I paid full price for the game. -
Inquiry about a clean 1.0.5 install
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to Kerbin vonKerbal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Ahhhhh, that's unfortunate. I bought through Steam. -
Saw this on the news! Kudos to them. Looking forward to your next installment as well.

So it might be a painfully obvious solution I'm not seeing, but I'm drawing a blank. I'm craving a good RO/RSS play through, but it has yet to update to the latest version of KSP. (Which is fine and dandy, I understand it's a large mod pack that takes a lot of work, and I'm sure the modders are doing their best.) Long story short, how does one go about obtaining a 1.0.5 install? Anybody able to file-share it?

Do you mean the Kerbal's biology? Or biology in regards to Kerbin? If it's the latter, I think biomes are as good as you're gonna get for now. As far as Kerbal's themselves, there's no biology/lore/story so far. You can always make up your own though, there's plenty of mods that provide parts and contracts to contribute to role playing and makin up your own space program story. So long as you don't bring roleplay into the forums, go wild.

Just watched parts 1 and 2, subscribed and commented. Can't wait for more.

The Grand KSP 1.1 Discussion Thread
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Make a cockpit with the chair and panels and stuff? Idk, creativity and utilization of resources available could help if you're going for a Cessna-esque cockpit and trying to stay light. -
I dabble in SW:BF on console, but have been playing Stardew Valley really heavy. It's a fantastic game for the price.

1.1 New Feature: Cutaway Interiors!
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to CalculusWarrior's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't use it much for rockets and command modules, but I love it when I fly my planes. It looks fantastic in my opinion, and I love being able to see through the windows. -
Show off your awesome KSP pictures!
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to NuclearWarfare's topic in KSP Fan Works
It was a nice view of my LKO tourist shuttle. This was it's maiden voyage and everybody die- I mean made it back safely shortly after the picture. -
In my pre-release 1.1 career, I just completed a mission to orbit Minmus and return home with Val at the wheel of the lander can. I think I came across some sort of bug or something that made my vessel rotate uncontrollably faster and faster every time I EVA'd. While trying to collect the data from my science instruments, I had to use a combination of time-warp to stop the motion and hit B to board, otherwise I would be flung out of control. All this while the Martian music score is playing in the background. Long story short, it was a minute or two of high suspense and the music perfectly lined up. The song was the one that plays when Mark Watney is doing his Iron Man stunt to rendezvous with the Hermes. The suspense built, and then the happy part of the song played perfectly in line with me finally boarding my craft. It's the little things like that that make me love this game.

Yeah! It's to update the fleet. The average age of the tanker is roughly 55 years old. Late 50's early 60's. I think the oldest I've worked on was a 57 or 58 year.
-
Haha no, I hope when I said "real world?" it didn't come across wrong! They're two different jets with the same mission. The boom on the 10 is a lot more fancy and high tech, and the boom on the soon-to-be KC-46 is even fancier. It's going to resemble what the Japanese Air Force currently has, equipped with a helmet the boom operator puts on that syncs with 3 cameras on the aft end of the jet. It's pretty cool, I had the chance to tour their plane in Alaska a while ago. But yeah, props to your refueling build.
-
Real world? Number of engines, amount of total fuel they hold, hydraulic fluid used in the hydraulic systems, etc. They tend to refuel Air Force One a lot. I personally like the 135 a lot though. It's basically a flying museum that still performs the mission. It's pretty straightforward, there's nothing too complex with the operation systems, and it's like 60 years old.
-
The KC-135 is way better than the KC-10, but that's just my internal bias as a mechanic on the 135.
-
Current state: - Little college education, would like to eventually earn my degree in something in the field of biology or anything space related. - Heavy aircraft hydraulic mechanic.

Trouble with radial attachments.

My very science-based and complex engineering-based answer is this: MOAR STRUTS -
There's Something Not Quite Right...
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to Kerbin vonKerbal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The "learning to KSP" phase was a dark time in design. -
-hype myself to start Mun base -build first booster and fuel core for new station -run mental checklists prior to launch -ready to launch -this Guess I'm not going to space today.
-
What happened in your first launch?
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to Q-ver KSP's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Pretty much the same as everybody else... I naively started a career mode, built the typical SRB/comman capsule/parachute build, didn't stage, then launched. Parachute and SRB both staged at the same time. I had no idea where I went wrong. -
Actually... His SLS is fine. It's a core stage and upper stage with 2 SRB's strapped to the side. Looks close enough for me. OP never mentioned it being a lifelike, 1:1 scale replica with matching colors and payload fairings and all.
-
It depends on my mood. Some days I want to make an SLS replica and go to Mars or start a 1950's era career and put time and effort into a basic Sounding Rocket, and some days I want to make Whackjob-esque type ships that are just ridiculous but somehow work.

Best advice I can give is to post this question to either the FASA mod thread, or the actual RO Discussion thread. Changing the title of the post to something that states this is RO related will also attract people who might have a solution as well. Here's a link to the Realism Overhaul main discussion thread, for all your RO needs.

Let's talk about fairings for a second...
Kerbin vonKerbal replied to Kerbin vonKerbal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I know about the future stock clamshells, I was just referring to what we have now, which is the popcorn deploying un-smooth fairings. Again, personal preference based off what we are currently equipped with in stock game.
