  1. By the way in case it's not obvious you need to put the CKAN executable into the game directory (inside KSP_win64 if it's on windows 64 bit) which is the same folder that the GameData folder and the KSP.exe are in.
  2. Short and blunt version: No. Long version: My exploration of Tylo as consisted of almost definitely less than 20 Kerbals. Yup. 12 Kerbals unless I'm forgetting something. Of those, only one Kerbal did any significant roving and the rover was poorly designed so he only roved 20 kilometers. He was in a crater but I don't know which one. So what I'm saying is I doubt anyone in the history of KSP has ever explored Grissom crater to that extent, the most maybe being for the biome hopper challenge. You're probably the world's leading expert on Grissom Crater right now. You're going where no one has gone before. So while I can't help you, I would like to say good luck, and ask that you report back with your findings! How steep are the walls?
  3. No, the Gilly route probably would have been the best route (but I went to Minmus instead because I had a base there). The refueling combined with the NERV stage makes it enough to slow down to non explodey speeds, at least with the craft I designed. You can probably save mass in places to make it go farther, and there may have been some margin. I also took a rather fast transfer to Eve which increased the delta-v requirements and final velocity a bit.
  4. The reason for the refueling is mainly so I can retruburn a lot at Eve, Eve is not kind to anything without heat shields. If I hadn't cancelled out a significant portion of my orbital velocity it would have probably burned up at Eve. EDIT: If you can make it to Gilly, that might be more practical than Minmus. The reason I went to Minmus was mostly story, Gilly would probably have been better logistically.
  5. I can confirm that at least the guns on this mod (mostly) work properly in 1.3.1. Not sure about 1.4.5 but I'll be trying in a few days (?).
  6. Although now that I mention it I could use ground military vehicles but that's not extremely important unless I can get them in the next few hours.
  7. Thank you for your submission, I think I'm done with needing planes though. I have already introduced the planes in the said story, but I'll see if I can't bring yours in later!
  8. Well, that was the original idea: That's the core engine with all its tons of fuel, but it's also dragging two nuclear stages. It was supposed to SSTO but it didn't really work out, so I went with plan B, strap boosters to it. And then I had enough fuel in orbit to bring it to Minmus to refuel. After I filled up there, I sent it to Eve. You'll notice the lack of heat shields. The NERV stages burn to depletion, and that gets it into Eve orbit. The Mammoth (the two vectors at the bottom are only there for pulling up in atmospheric flight) is used to use up all of the fuel to slow it down enough so it doesn't need a heat shield. This also means that it's a glider from this point onwards. So it was not an SSTO from Kerbin, although it was *almost* supposed to be at the beginning. However I don't think I really designed it with that in mind, I think I just tried to SSTO it because I noticed that it theoretically could. I designed it to be so big because first, it needed to carry ISRU, second, it needed to carry up to 16 Kerbals (this was a rescue mission, I had several Kerbals stranded), it had to use Mammoths or Vectors to get any sort of specific impulse at sea level, and it needed to have a range of at least 100 kilometers. However, that range number is affected a lot by the starting altitude. From 1km ASL you can get over 100km out of it, if you started on Eve's tallest mountain you can go a lot further. In the end I said "I could go small or big" and went big. Not to advertise or anything, but the craft is part of my mission report, Project Intrepid (link in sig) if you'd like to see more action, although it doesn't come in until very late and hasn't done much yet.
  9. Thank you for that mitochondria, I'll make sure to remember that for my Golgi apparatus.
  10. Okay - just for you, I promise that the next one will not end on a cliffhanger. I don't know when it will be, though, there's at least 2 KSP things I should finish first (done within the week hopefully) 2 IRL things I want done (editing a video and spamming people I know with emails) and then school starts... But after those 4, Ch. 16 takes full priority.
  11. I built an elevator for a launch pad, along with a crew access arm. Five Kerbals began in the elevator, two died and one sustained heavy injury.
  12. I agree with @MDZhB, You are doing well. I actually didn't get that you were ESL until you said something about it. Most of those words you should learn sometime but there's a lot that you probably won't need even if you learn them. I have been on this Earth 16 years, all but 3 weeks in the US and I have not needed to use the word Antechamber in an actual conversation once.
  13. Antechamber and Strong room are not used often. Honor does mean keep in this scenario, but using it like that isn't really that common especially with arrangement (but more common than antechamber). I have no idea what a catharsis is. Reconciliation is not common but still used. Condescending isn't that common either. Animosity is pretty much not used for anything other than high school vocabulary quizzes.
  14. You'd also need to worry about data relaying, you'd need satellites behind the Moon relative to Earth, but yes, that is interesting.
  15. This was originally supposed to be a big chapter with lots of developments, but I delved a bit further into the details then I wanted to, but I guess that's fine. The next three chapters (maybe more) will encompass a story arc containing several pretty large and exciting developments. I would like to thank @dundun92, @Thor Wotansen, @ZLM-Master, @Coca992, @qzgy, and @Cupcake... (again) for providing the craft used in this chapter (and also the next three) because I probably can't make a decent fighter plane to save my life! They will see some action very soon! Chapter 51 - The Calm Before the Storm
  16. Oops. I wasn't done and I didn't mean to post that. Apparently I'm pressing a button that automatically presses enter.
  17. Hmm, I checked and I do seem to be using that version. On github I found this: Added impact marker to map and flight view. Toggleable via the Impact Marker readout button. I guess I should try toggling it, will report in a few mins. Yup, this was it and there is a button for it in the engineer! Thank you!
  18. Okay, so I'll be flying around, and all the time I'm airborne, there is this red target at the point of projected impact that moves around with the craft. It disappears while on the ground but will not go away in the air. It doesn't go away with f2 either. I have many mods installed, but the only three I can think of that would be doing this are BDArmory Continued, Vessel Mover Continued, and Waypoint Manager. If it's a mod feature there's probably a setting somewhere but I cannot find it. Any ideas on what this could be? I'm using 1.4.5 by the way.
  19. I absolutely love this mod, thank you for maintaining it and updating it. This is certainly not a demand or anything, just a suggestion, say I want to have a lot of craft in the same area at once (like, 5 of the same one or so). Is it possible to add a "spawn multiple" feature?
  20. I have not run tests yet, but thank you! I think I've got all the craft I need for now! To anyone who gave me craft which aren't compatible with 1.3.1 for some reason they will still be in the story, just not in the first part. The writing plan integrates an update into it fairly well.
  21. It's not impossible. There have already been several nuclear reactors in orbit before (mostly Soviet). And those things have only gotten safer since then (if public approval has gone down).
