  1. Most of my saves operate under the Notebook Space Program. And the explanation got long and tangential so here's a spoiler:
  2. This probably doesn't belong here, but I don't know where else it would go and I want to share it. So I had this weird dream last night. I don't remember how it started, all I know is that I was travelling through countries. One day, however, this gigantic spaceship that looks like BFR (but is way bigger on the inside and has slightly larger delta wings) appears (but without the booster, and it has VTOL and is launched at a 45 degree angle) and the public is invited onboard (for free!) for the first point to point test flights. So naturally, I go, I think I went from France to Peru. The aisles were in groups of 2-3-2 with lots of windows and a surprising amount of room per seat. Also SpaceX invented artificial gravity and it's only disabled in the very front of the ship. And the crew compartment was surprisingly long. And the engines were RS-25's. And the landing was horizontal-ish in a cradle. And you're free to walk around once you're in space. This system (more than one BFR) was available for free for one day, and there was only one failure, a forward cabin depressurization that did not result in any fatalities. And then the spaceships disappear. I went to the headquarters of some big business, navigated a complex array of elevators and floors (actually it was just 1 elevator but it was really weird) and got to the desk of this old bald guy. I asked him when this would be back online (with payment though) and he said "these things never work, I'd give it 8 years" and I was like "Bro, it did work, didn't you see it? I was in space 3 times!" and he was like "optimism is evil, get out of my office." Also it's a bit weird when people you know IRL show up in your dreams despite you not thinking about them that much, I sat next to a loose friend I met recently on one of my point to point hops. Yeah it's not SpaceX related that much, but the point is that I had a dream about BFR.
  3. The middle of nowhere surrounded by corn in the country with the best space program.
  4. For any curious, this is a liquid fueled rocket called Nexo (the o has a cross through it but I don't want to google it and copy-paste it) 2. It is expected to go 12-15km in the air if everything works, and its goal is to prove that the team can successfully build rockets without them exploding while still being small enough to be affordable. Nexo 1 launched either last year or two years ago and suffered an engine failure shortly after liftoff. They launch from a boat in the middle of the ocean. The only things they need to do to be ready to launch are fixing the livestreaming stuff which broke due to a bad air conditioning unit (not on the rocket) and packing the parachute. Best of luck to them!
  5. Ultimate Steve - April-June 1954 (Cycle 14) @qzgy Ping!
  6. Ultimate Steve - January-March 1954 (Cycle 13) @qzgy Time to bring this thing back to life!
  7. Oh, also @SiriusRocketry if you can't wait for this, there's Space Race, a Realism Overhaul Space Race between me, qzgy, and NSEP although NSEP has unfortunately dropped out, if you want to see more RO stuff.
  8. On and off. I just got back from a 3 week trip and in a few days I go on a 1 week trip. Then band camp starts, then school starts, so RIP my free time. Balancing my interests and several other mission reports (not to mention IRL stuff) can get tricky, so I sort of bounce back and forth between them. I did do some stuff in this before I left, but it wasn't much. This isn't dead, just dormant.
  9. Ahh, haven't seen a launch in nearly a month, but I'm still semi jet lagged and probably need to drive tomorrow... Do I watch it?
  10. Mk16 chute - Mk1 pod - Decoupler - RT-10. Went up, went down. At 2 frames per second. Because my computer was a brick. Flight took more than 5 minutes in real time.
  11. So I'm back from Europe

And I immediately have to go to Ohio

So I can't check my notifications for a few more hours.

But I have 23, which is a new record!

    1. Piatzin

      Piatzin

      I got 15 just now

Mostly status updates and things :P

    2. The Minmus Derp

      The Minmus Derp

      I had 122 once. LOL

It was mostly realkerbal3x reacting to ALL of my posts

  12. To add to everyone's Mun stories, I had the opposite problem. I completely overbuilt my lander, even with my inefficient landing profile. And it also took 8 mystery goos. The last stage was an FL-T100 with a spark, then an FL-T400 and an LV-909, and four or six of those (with some twitches) placed symmetrically around the core. That's just what landed, the transfer stage and lifter was something different. I still had half of the core and the entire upper stage when I landed back on Kerbin.
  13. YES! One of the first "dinks" I got was when I had just finished trombone practice and my speakers were still on full, so it was somewhat startling.
  14. Usually they remove the fuel, its pretty simple, they probably have a valve in there and a special hose. It's not like they can leave LOX in there very long anyway. Plus there's the short static fires, so they have to be able to do it for that.
  15. Exactly as the title asks. I was looking through an old notebook today from several years ago and saw a drawing of a spaceship that could take either 256 or 512 Kerbals to anywhere but Moho. Along with it was a note that said something like "Probably will never be built due to lag concerns and difficulty flying it." 2014 me: Nah that's hard (512 Kerbals) 2016 me: Hold my beer (916 Kerbals)
  16. Hey there!

I just wanted anyone who cares to know that as of tomorrow at about 1:00 CST (give or take an hour) I will be leaving and I will not be back until late the 18th (probably the 19th). Unless I borrow someone's phone and they let me use it (unlikely) I will not be able to access the forum (or the internet at all) during that time, because I will be touring Europe as part of a state band program (YAY!).

I'm really excited, to say the least. Just letting you all know!

  17. If you use the Debug menu to accomplish this feat, then you are regarded as a hero, only if you use it to give humans interplanetary travel. Upon accomplishing this, you must use magic to resurrect the guys who were eaten. The magic word is...
  18. If they don't launch tonight I won't be able to watch it unless it gets delayed 3 more weeks! I wonder how many recycles Electron is designed to go through.
  19. The 25 seems to be an estimate for how well they expect the first version of this engine to perform. If BO goes places (which they have a good chance of IMO) the engine will undoubtedly be upgraded along with New Glenn itself to have a better chance of meeting the initial goal. And no Falcon has flown more than twice yet, they just now launched their first rocket actually designed to be reused ten times.
