  1. From SFN, might be normal, might mean a delay: T-minus 23 minutes and holding. Rocket Lab says the countdown has paused while officials work to configure a downrange telemetry asset for launch.
  2. Wait... What if a company had a whole bunch of satellites (16 or so) at different inclinations and orbits, which would shoot out lumps of something designed to burn up on reentry so it would produce a very bright flash in spectacular fashion. It might not be possible to make these small enough to have more than a few per satellite, but the company could sell its service as "rent-a-shooting-star."
  3. So, say I wanted to have the Deep Space Kraken as a part. Or Gilly as a part. Specifically those two, others would be nice. Is it possible, how would one go about doing it, and would anyone be willing to do it?
  4. Welcome to the forums! I'm not 100% sure, but in 1.3.x there was a bug where if you came out of time warp or switched to your ship, it would occasionally jump. I've experienced this a lot, and it's been the bane of my Gilly and Eve campaigns. I'm about 80% sure it was fixed in 1.4. If you are still using 1.3.x I recommend updating to 1.4.4.
  5. Mystery goo is a top secret formulation created in a single large batch at the start of the space program. Only two Kerbals, Jebediah and Gene, know the formula in case more needs to be made.
  6. This is the best thing I've watched all week, just to let you know.

      The Minmus Derp

      Oooooh, Coolieo. First!

  7. Chapter 47 - Still Alive On another note, I have started reading the story to my sister, and going back to the beginning... yikes. YIKES. Half of the names are spelled wrong and I confuse characters often, and the early references to the future of the story turned out to be conflicting... before Chapter 48 I'll be editing the first 15 or so chapters for clarity's sake. I'll copy and paste the originals somewhere else, although the chapters will stay mostly the same.
  8. ... ITV-022C "Applesauce" piloted by Joey Kerman. A real ship, somewhat prominent in a story I'm writing. Only 2 people get it, not going to tell.
  9. Both times I fired off E engines they have exploded.
  10. This guy is sort of the king of rocketry now, he's pretty much the only one who has tried to do gimballing, active guidance, and propulsive landing... yes, propulsive landing with solid rockets. He never got close, though, unfortunately. Looking at this I wonder, how much each flight costs. It's probably above $50 due to the sheer number of engines...
  11. You can pry my 33 1/3 RPM vinyl records out of my could dead hands...
  12. A giant ancient castle that makes no sense has a boyfriend who plays a really weird flying game.
  13. This makes me a bit more hyped for the day when nuclear rockets come into widespread use - you can use literally almost any liquid as a reaction mass and you can basically refuel anywhere you want.
  14. So, I saw The Incredibles 2 today... and it was certainly Incredible! But the main thing is, I tested that $5 telescope I got at a garage sale. It only came with one eyepiece, a 12.5mm one. And I pointed it at the Moon, but I just couldn't get it to focus... and then I realized that there was another tube that was preventing the focus from going in far enough (now that I look at it it seems to be a 3x Barlow lens!) so I took it out, and it focused fine. By that time, though, the moon had set, so I pointed it at Jupiter instead. And WOW. Biggest Jupiter I've ever seen. Unfortunately, it was an out of focus blob at best, BUT it was a BIG out of focus blob! I'll take a big out of focus blob any day over a small in focus point of light (my old telescope). So, except for the focus issues (which *might* be solvable, I don't know much about telescopes, though) it's way better than my current scope. But, the one eyepiece that came with it is an 0.965 eyepiece, the other ones I have are 1.25, so they won't fit. I've been looking online and I don't want to drop a huge chunk of change on an eyepiece or two. Going the extreme cheapo route, I can get a $6 adapter but risk not being able to focus with the new lenses at all (the thing barely focuses already even with the focus all the way in) or I can get a super cheap (and probably very low quality) set of lenses for $15 from China. And I just realized my huge derp. I just looked up how to properly clean telescope optics and I basically did everything it said not to do when I cleaned it. Like using wet Kleenex. Which might explain the focus issues. Oh well... still cool, although I may have accidentally ruined it. Now, Saturn should be decently high in the sky by now, I'm going to go have a look.
  15. I am also curious. Although I'm going to get a new 1.2.2 just for doing this.
  16. I have a book about the history of White Sands, almost dictionary size. It's a fun read, although a taxing one.
  17. Anything that adds a lot of parts adds a lot of RAM. It also looks like you are using an RSS/RO installation. It also looks like you installed all of the "recommended" and "suggested" mods, which IMO isn't something you want to do. Ideally, you should have most of the recommended mods, and only 1/3 or so of the suggested mods IMO. You don't need 50 part packs, maybe 2 or 3, because you have procedural parts. Anything that focuses primarily on engines should stay in, but replica packs (US probes, maybe Soviet rockets, etc.) should probably go. It might also help to force OpenGL, which I don't really remember how to do but helps a lot of people with lags. Also try messing with the physics delta slider in the settings menu.
  18. Do Chinese launches count? Seriously this year would be so much more interesting if China streamed their launches. Even half of them.
  19. ...You can win multiple times. If you happen to be a penguin named Rico, who is very good at regurgitating stuff such as flamethrowers, guitars, and 10,000 ball bearings...
