Dang, gonna miss the train in the meantime then. Thanks Starhawk!
-
Can we start a second hype train for station 1.0 once that happens, or is there no room on that particular schedule?

Honestly, pretty excited to do a space race with my cousins! I'm going to buy them copies literally as soon as the game goes on sale, that way they can get practice in before MP releases.

I saw someone in here earlier back when I was setting up my laptop who said that the 2060 was actually midranged and that people who had the 1600 series cards should just upgrade. To that, I have to say, no, the hardware does not make it midranged. It's the people who still use it that do. The Geforce 730 isn't even considered a factor, not because it's so outdated, but because no one uses the damn thing. If there were a billion people using the G730, you'd still see games targeting it, at least as a minimum requirement. Sure, it'd be considered low-end, but it would be a consideration none the less. Accordingly, the mid-range would also shift based on the fact that the G730 is now considered the common low end.

WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS WRONG WITH THEM!? Crysis 1 looked better and it can run on modern systems! Are they enforcing 4k textures or some bull? Holy cow! That's so much bloody power for so little payoff!

Or, y'know, CP/M or a derivative thereof. Windows isn't the ONLY one to use \, \ was adopted so that command line compatibility could be kept with CP/M back in the DOS era. Just like the foundational MS-DOS, Windows also (technically) supports Unix-styled filesystem interfaces. On an aside, I also succinctly recall a NASA interview that took place sometime in the late 2010s on the Curiosity rover, where they had this obviously ancient Windows 2.x machine running in the background which was running control and analysis software for a probe, complete with a black and white CRT. Now that was interesting to see.

So uh... how do they keep the fire going? The moment the nozzle is disconnected... Welp.

I don't necessarily like it myself but I'm pretty sure that's not retro. Kind of reminds me of neobrutalism.

Hey, I hate to hit the alarm bells, but... The graphics here aren't too much of an improvement, and neither is the framerate. What's up with that? I know they reused some old promo footage in the same video(notably, the rocket launch uses footage from recording rockets,) so that can explain that part, but what about the framerate dip when the aircraft tumbles on the runway?

The rest are good cases though. -

God forbid a game have a cartoony art style, because clearly no games used it before the early 2010s, and if they did, they were all colossal failures that did nothing for the console or industry as a whole. Not to mention, they're ALWAYS known for being complete and utter trite that hasn't aged well. -
At that point, just stream a game consistently, you'd have better luck doing that than crowd funding a PC.

Speaking of the Monday memepost, for those that don't visit the social thread like I vehemently refuse, here's this.
-
I know that wasn't what you meant, but it was hard to resist. Sorry.

I wouldn't say it's DIRECT support but it is a technicality. Surprised this one wasn't on the One. I don't actually own a One, so if anyone can correct me on that, that'd be great. There's some evidence that it may be possible natively rather than through this cloud gaming setup, but I'm not certain that this is true and the game is only marketed for S/X/PC.

Literally everything else there is valid, so it would be strange to throw in a fake right in the middle of a bunch of legitimate, very confirm-able screenshots. I'm willing to bet it was something we missed, probably a one off. I feel like the probe also looks familiar...

This is... a baffling defense to say the least. It's a complete non-sequitur. The power defense doesn't work BECAUSE that wasn't the point though. The point was that you specified that the Xbox One and One X are dead. I responded by saying that Microsoft has kept support by(through whatever means,) causing developers to release Xbox One versions at the same time. And now we're here, with you trying to claim that the Series X/S are the same hardware as the One/X but souped up. I'm not saying you're wrong, by the ways, far be it from me to tell you that iterations of PC compatible hardware are not iterations of PC compatibles, I'm just saying that this is NOT an applicable defense because my argument was that they're still supporting the last generation Xbox One with games, and it seems that Microsoft won't let Series X/S only games release.
-
Microsoft has made every Xbox Series X/S game (that I can think of) compatible with the Xbox One so far. Yes, including 3rd party titles. I don't think they're going to let exceptions happen for KSP2. I may be wrong, but last I heard, they're still doing that. They didn't stop, never did. Here's Hogwarts Legacy from Walmart to prove my point. Oh carp, sorry, didn't see you ALSO responded. Basically, every Xbox Series X/S game has been backwards(forwards?) compatible with the Xbox One. Every. Single. One. At least as far as I can tell, I could be wrong. I don't think KSP2 is going to be an exception to that rule, even if IG/PD paid big bucks to try to circumvent this rule.

I had a feeling Aziz was going to try to use it, so I decided to pre-empt it. Sorry for making it come off as like I was trying to talk to you specifically about it. Y'know what, fair enough. These are things I hadn't considered. Thank you for bringing them up.

Okay but that defense doesn't work if they've done it twice in a row, and also they specified Monday memes. Today is Tuesday, and they could've gotten a dev who actually HAD been working on graphics for this.
