  1. @AugustWest Here's how it functions: When you load up in the runway, press action group 2(default is button "2") to "decouple" the right docking port, (the right docking port is what the entire assembly is rooted too), Then, swap focus to the wings (its treated as a separate vehicle) By using the default buttons "[" and "]" and roll it into place, (default buttons "Q" and "E") They should dock without any trouble, and you can then fly it as a VTOL, To change mid-flight: Press Action group 1 (default button "1") this will "undock" the ports (different from "decoupling" because the game treats docking ports that are node connected in the editor as decouplers) Then swap again to the wing assembly and Roll it into the desired docking ports.
  2. @Majorjim! actually, I'd say I got perfect results the ports on the left side are exactly as close together as if they where node attached
  3. @Majorjim! EJ_SA was using it for his version on stream when I walked in. I tried desperately to avoid using it in the interest of keeping symmetry, eventually though I did have use it with all the parts snapped to the "absolute" grid. So both booms are connected but not symmetrical, the left boom is surface attached to the right boom and was offset outwards, and the right boom is attached to right docking port. The docking ports are in symmetry, so with some offsetting of them left and right I eventually got them lined up with the left booms docking port.
  4. @McQuacker Nope! Completely Bone Stock. The hinge mechanism is my own variation of the famed "Thermometer Hinge" There Is a close up of it in the second album: 8 Thermometers act as a tube for an oscar be to rotate in, at the push of the button the docking ports undock and the entire tilt wing portion is a separate craft. Then it's aloud to freely rotate in the mechanism.
  5. Is there a simplified version like TCA2? I just want to hover a craft in place and there are a lot of scary buttons... Also I can't figure out the engine settings, for my shuttle I just want it to balance the thrust limiters on a single engine like RCS but without RCS enabled (to not waste Monoprop in atmo) EDIT: Just read the manuel, so RCS has to be enabled? Durnit.
  6. Kerbol Origins Is my personal favorite, it adds some of the lost planets that Squad promised but never got around too but we have this and its quite great My favorite addition is Potatus: Just for its amazing Concept of course.
  7. Sure thing! Let me just tweak a few things then I'll edit it into the post EDIT: Done!
  8. Yeah at least links still work. Any word from the devs or Imgur?
  9. So @EJ_SA tried to make a small VTOL, fell flat on his shaven face, I took his basic design, then made it work: Its a tilt wing designed to be compact and fast. It has an open bay in the back with a few seats (not pictured), and it flies like a dream. It used to have its elevator in the back but that didn't work with the aerodynamics, so I moved them forward and now it has canards. 10. does this work with the current version?
  11. I just want different sizes and more engines in general. Maybe just RCS thrusters, sometimes I want 18Kn of thrust at the cost of monoprop Mostly vanity for solar panels specifically; larger single panels, bigger retractable panels (with shielding), and really super massive ones so I don't have to create ridiculous panel pillars for space stations. Maybe some more and varied shapes too, rectangular isn't always a good option when dealing with rovers and cylindrical crafts. What about Landing legs? Also structural components like the I-Beams and panels, sometimes you want to properly build something and we got 4 parts to do that so we have to get creative, suddenly a low altitude air intakes become the prime part for making curved sections on a space station, and the best option for paneling is not actual panels but aerodynamic lift producing wings, because they come in shapes and sizes better than just "square or bigger square" Heat-sheilding too. Like seriously, heat-sheilding.
  12. Holy crap, I accidentally made that in KSP-ish
  13. One thing that I really really would appreciate is the addition of moar procedural parts in the same vein as your fairings, like: Wings and Winglets, so you don't have to faff around with making your own wings by combining wings not designed to fit together. Fuel tanks, I just want more accurate lengths, and the ability to replace oxidizer with more liquid fuel for nervs. And a few misc parts here and there like langing legs/wheels, solar panels, and/or to some extent a few engines. I like the lego aspect of ksp but after playing for 1000+ hours, farting around with wings tanks and landing gear can become rather annoying if you know exactly what you want to make at what size but are restricted by the limitations of size set parts.
  14. @EVA_Reentry/Strangelove II this is one of the few forums I've seen that treats necroing as taboo :v
  15. Does anyone have a Blocked Wheels fix? Its rather annoying and seems like a 'BOOOOOO!!' system to implement as it broke all of my rovers and 90% of my current rovers get blocked by kraken magic when nothing is in the way or it hits the ground too hard. I haven't even bothered building any in like a month they're so useless. Is there a magical setting somewhere maybe in the persistent file? Maybe a mod that disables it?
  16. Finally, the advanced mode i've been wanting for the longest of times without actually mentioning the idea because i thought you guys wouldn't implement anything like that due to how it would naturally split the fanbase. Some notes: take it easy, do it in a way that doesn't shun newbies and stroke veterans egos, add more. (ima make a thread specifically for some of my ideas after this)
