  1. The re-entry is different for each vehicle. I try to make my periapsis approx. 25km above ocean nearby the KSC (if going west at the launch) or the hills east of KSC (if going east). Also, you can use the Trajectories mod. Really helps with landing! btw, I think I messed up east and west, but you get it.
  2. Go with multiple passes, mate. Or use the engines to slow down about 50km. Also, mk1 parts aren't very heat resistant. You could use radiators, or use a shielded docking port on the front to stay alive and do not burn to ashes.
  3. Hello guys. Today I've built a Space Shuttle clone, and I'm satisfied with it. But one problem remains: even though it works perfectly fine on takeoff (I tested it with jets), after re-entry it suddenly becomes extremely unstable and absurdly easy to stall and fail the mission. What's the explanation of this? It's not just my fail. KSO and CSS do the same, and they are engineered perfectly.
