K-STAR ( Kerbal Search Team And Rescue ) are in desperate need of a rescue vehicle. Although Kerbals have easily been able to get into orbit, to the Mun, Minmus and beyond, there is still a disturbing lack of craft able to return our beloved heros back to KSP if they splash down in a distant ocean or mountain range. Many kerbals have spend weeks at sea or living off the land in their long trek back to base. We can no longer allow this to happen. Requirements. You must take off from Kerbin, pick up your lost crew and return them back to Kerbal Space Centre alive. Kerbals to be rescued must be on the ground or in the water of Kerbin. Mods are allowed, but do remember to list them. Remember to take screenshots or video of the takeoff, the pickup, and landing back at KSC with the 'flight results' at the end. Don't forget to name your creation! At this stage, you'll have to strand your own kerbals, there is no persistence file to make it easier yet. Awards Mercy level recovery: - Bring back one kerbal in a single trip. Gemini level recovery: - Bring back two kerbals in a single trip. Apollo level recovery: - Bring back three kerbals in a single trip. Mountain Rescue: - Rescue a kerbal from the snowy mountain regions of Kerbin. Water Rescue: - Rescue a kerbal from any body of water. Dodo: - Mission range is less than 25km. Pigeon: - Mission range is greater than 25km. Eagle: - Range exceeds 100km. Thunderbird: - Range exceeds 300km. Thunderbird F.A.B: - Range exceeds 600km VTOL: - Vertical take off and landing. VTOL Elite: - Rescue kerbals while still hovering in the air. SAR Elite: - complete all awards (multiple missions acceptable, range does not stack across missions) Honour role mager42 in the, 'H'. Mods: Mechjeb + Damned Aerospace Version 1.5.2 + Crewtank. Awards: *Apollo* *Thunderbird* *VTOL*

Yup I think your right there. Some people considered the Aero spike engine broken to begin with. It all depends IF 0.16.1 Fixes the bug in the first place.

I\'ve rebuilt the Jet master Aether and with a few improvements I\'m getting even better performance. I think a new K- Prize thread should be made, with extra achievements for crew capacity and possible cargo capacity. But I think the old honour role should be rolled over to the new thread. Having a new thread will help those looking for 0.16 space planes that work.

With the new update, I\'ve been busy rebuilding all my rockets. I guess I\'ll re-enter the K-prize again with an updated space plane. I honestly think there should be another prize if you can lift three Kerbals into orbit as well.

Well some times the landing rockets don\'t work and the poor suckers are in for an even rougher landing...
-
Yup it did indeed. http://www.skynews.com.au/world/article.aspx?id=767009&vId= This is video of one landing last year... Just so you can see how crazy it is... Safe landing for Soyuz space capsule

http://youtu.be/XyvIw_yO60w So one has just returned three guys back to earth... I decided to look it up on Wikipedia. Very well written article. I never knew how small this thing was. I\'m amazed that they manage to squeeze three guys in the thing. Heck the old space shuttle could probably carry thing thing into orbit inside it\'s cargo bay. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soyuz_(spacecraft) It\'s a very sad and very impressive that this spacecraft has been used for so long and is the only real way to get humans to the ISS and back (for now). Kudos to Russian space technology for such a reliable spacecraft. What I love most is that the landing is VERY Kerbal. I personally would love to see a similar craft made for 0.16 when it comes out... Three Kerbals Crammed in like sardines

[STOCK] Jetmaster Super Heavy Lift
hebdomad replied to hebdomad's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The pictures there are just the bit that gets into orbit... I\'ll post a video of it launching soon. *edit* I just found a camera mod. Consider the video delayed indefinitely while I play with this... http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14009.msg211998#msg211998 -
Of course they had to over dramatise EVERYTHIING!.... especially the number seven. I mean no offence to any Americans here but, this was clearly adapted for american audiences in mind... For me it was like watching \'Sesame Street The Movie\'. >< But if that\'s what it takes to inspire the average \'hill-billy red-neck\' to get a degree, then I\'m all for it.

If only we spent a decent amount of money on space... maybe then we\'ll have a chance at surviving here on this earth...

I\'ve not released any new craft lately so here is one of my experi-mental rockets instead... While waiting for docking, new planets, and other cool things that will come in the far distant future ... I thought I might prototype some interplanetary stuff. What we have here is a prototype orbital refuelling depo. You\'ll have to be careful flying this thing as it is NOT CERTIFIED FOR FLIGHT. Here are some key features and notes you should be aware of. > It will lift 20+ tanks of fuel into low Kerbin orbit. > Sometimes the rocket falls apart on the launch pad. This is a game bug. Restart Kerbal Space Program to fix. > It\'s NOT certified for orbit. You\'ll have to be careful with the staging else you WILL leave a lot of boosters in orbit. > The new and improved experimental safety features are guaranteed to get your kerbals killed. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ABORT MISSION! > For landing, use parachutes and rocket engine for safe landing. Using only one could end in disaster. > Pressing \'spacebar\' too much is a great way to get your kerbals killed. > As this is a prototype, no guarantee, warranty, insurance, or monetary lone will be available for this product. Use at own risk. Have a nice day. 8)

Or maybe it\'s covered in GLASS. Not frozen liquid...

Fastest Speed in Ten Seconds [STOCK]
hebdomad replied to dogon11's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I got 302m/s Trying to fine tune it at the moment, I\'ve still got 'wasted' fuel I\'ve not burnt after 10s.... *edit* >< I might get back to this one once I\'ve got my three screen shots. -
I think if I where to put fuel depo into orbit, I would very much like some kind of engine to de-orbit the thing once I\'m done with it. I like to keep Kerbin clear of space debris... Heck even the ISS has an engine to adjust the orbit. I think I\'ll wait till docking is fully implemented until I attempt a mission like this. Then I\'ll have to put a fuel depo in orbit, and then rondevu and dock with another craft. I also suggest putting a Ton of RCS fuel into orbit since that is what we\'ll use most for docking manoeuvres. *edit* Done With extra RCS on the side and enough fuel to de orbit the sucker too... In case of emergences of course...

Yeah I have my own Youtube channel and Live stream. It\'s rather difficult to get everything right. Epically sound levels. Got any tips for that?

I\'m taking this puppy for a test flight tonight!! Looks like a monster. ^Yup agreed. Parachutes... always^
-
Impressive , but how did you get that cockpit view?
-
As I can see your still a newbie, I\'ll go easy on you. Yes I cringe when I see filters on photos, but I forget how far I\'ve come. Keep up the good work I say. And keep making cool stuff!
-
I\'ve got one screen shot of KSP that I\'ve used as a background for a while. Enjoy.

Going to be watching the Microsoft conference soon. I\'ll edit and leave my thoughts after... *Edit* ... Ok, other than Halo 4 and Forza Horizon, which everyone knew would be there. The only thing I can come away with is... 'OMG Internet Explorer for Xbox 360!' Honestly though there was some cool tech shown, but nothing that made me go WoW. On a side note, the only thing I\'m looking forward to seeing now is Planetside 2.

Quite possibly the hardest challenge ever.
hebdomad replied to Maizah's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Oh, I see my breakthroughs in infini-glide technology are having an impact. ;P I\'ll try make something that can get to escape velocity later.... Meanwhile enjoy this entry. -
The first one with just two fins I got up to 40-70m/s The other car I got up to 1066m/s in a vertical climb How to fly. 1. mash \'W\' and \'S\' until airborne 2. build up some speed until above 40m/s 3. .... ? 4. DO A BARREL ROLL!

The "Why is this even in KSP?!?" Challenge
hebdomad replied to 0muffins0's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Challenge! Put that shed into orbit! 8) Craft file please... -
The infini glide car can not archive orbit, nor is it deep space certified. Day trips skipping out of the atmosphere is the most it can do... that and fly very very fast.
