Name of the mod that allow finer positioning?
Jestersage replied to Jestersage's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Thanks. It's definitely one of them. I am also interested in mods that allow finer snapping to parts and or positioning. Does this mod do it? -
While holding shift will work in general, are there other snapping mod that allow even finer positioning?

FL-A215 for Gemini look?
Jestersage replied to Jestersage's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Okay, should have use the search. To make sure no one go with an answer that did not address the question 1) As seen in https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/172376-the-gemini-dilema/&tab=comments#comment-3322525 Yes, FL-A215 is the Visual analogue to Gemini adaptor module, while the 1.8m service bay is the funcitonal analogue. 2) Searching by diameter size in VAB show that fairings and FL-A215 are the only adapters available as of 1.4.3 -
Can someone please confirm that, for visual replication, FL-A215 is the adapter for it? (emphasize on visual, since I know the function replica will be the 1.8m service bay) Also, are there other adapters that allow mating of Gemini capsule to the old orange tank, other than FL-A215 and Fairings? (Please don't give me 'better' answer; just a yes and no regarding the last point)

I remember downloading someone's craft file (I think it was a Vostok clone), and when I click on the thrusters, I also noticed it contains a fuel guage! Is there some way to combine the context menu? Or is it craft file coding? If it's the former, how do you do it?

Thanks for liking it. Lehu is actually a further-Anglicization of Orion in Chinese, "lie'hu". YiY an abrevation of Yi'Ying... which should have been Yi'Xing (一型), but I forgot the proper pinyin. In short, it's literally "Orion Type 1". Not even the most creative naming.

Introduction While Kerbin contains numerous manufacturer, in order to ensure space exploration will go on in the most efficient manner, the JS Hangtian was chartered to provide leadership in production and exploration of spacecrafts and other equipment. Among many other competitiors, the JS Hangtian are one of the few chartered agencies that studied the phenomenom of "Mallocation" produced by spacecraft. Specifically, when each crafts have more parts added upon it, it generate the Mallocation, or "Malloc" upon the world. While overall it is minor, once past a certain times there is a time dilation effect, and in the worst case, the Malloc effect may summon tentacles out of thin air (tentatively called Kraken) and turn the craft and its Kerbalnauts into horrific, spaghetti-like blob. Thus, JS Hangtian is dedicated to create crafts that have limited impact to the environment. Furthermore, in order to make design process easier, it is said they dug through the archives of the knoeldge base, which supposed to contain designs that is hard to realize, due to either budget, then-technological constrain, and other could-be, should-be, may-be that are lost in the archvies of history. The design was split between 3 different space agency/bureau: The KSC, the Woomerang Design Bureau, and the TianDian Collegiate, each with their own different design philosophy and looks. JS Hangtian in the past takes a hands-off approach, but upon repeated request from Shareholders, JS Hangtian start to compile the report, and is expected to be released soon. Key Features Will focus on by this forumla: "(part counts ~= functionalities) > appearance", in such order. In short, if the functionality benefit is not significantly high, part count reduction takes priority. However, appearance replication, though important, will be taking a backseat. But it will look good regardless. Based on Real-Life crafts and concepts S-series crafts are pure stock. No DLC needed Current Offerings Please go to . The Imgur mess up the image replacement. For some reason, when I am time wrapping, I actually seems to skip ahead; my PE also doesn't seems to match the one in map view. Is it a bug due to base game + dlc, or a mod? Mod used: KER 1.1.4.9? Monoprop containers still in wrong weight?
Jestersage replied to Jestersage's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just realize the chaneg in values on Wiki is talking about the dry weight. -
Use the 1.8m structure tube or a fairing. Disable the coupler on the onion capsule (and remove abalator)
-
So related to my last question, I am trying to build a craft using structural tube and panel However, I found the full launch stack flip. So based on the other thread on Structure tube (yes, it had a lot of drag), I switch it to fairing. However, I still have it flipping. I realize I actually used structural panels from MH. Seeing it have nine nodes, do they have more drag then radiator panels/old structural panels?

Use of structural tube vs fairing
Jestersage replied to Jestersage's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I am trying to make a Soyuz clone, and I noticed many people use fairing (even those that stated MH) instead of Structural tube for the lower half. I am not sure how important it is to use fairing for the renetry capsule if one choose to forgo a reaction wheel. -
Use of structural tube vs fairing
Jestersage posted a topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
So based on 1.4.2, is structural tube good replacement for fairing (for some stuff, of course), namely due to the weight? Or is it still tube-shaped parachutes? -
Surpisingly, it's easier to build the Orion now then the Gemini. As everyone knows, Gemini is missing a "easy nosecone", and thus requiring either 2 stack (at least) of either the Oscar tanks, or have ugly but more functional yellow RCS tanks... but that's not the worst. What concern me is the "adapter module". Either one actually do it by function, and thus use the SM-18/Structure tube for the fuel, fuel cell and battery, or just radial attach them at one face of the 1.8 to 2.5 tank (which aside from being long, is also the only adapter) before letting the Mk2 capsule sit on the node. So what's everyone's opinion? I did see some examples of KerbalX, and all it does is to see the further indicate no one knows how to build a Gemini "properly". (I moved my thread to hear, since this is more for opinion then geniune "how to build"

Okay, what I know is, to hav enice reflections and clouds, I need Scatterer. What I am confused about is whether I just need EVE, just need SVE, or do i place EVE in the folder, but instead of using some config file, use SVE instead?

Raptor's Craft Download Catalog - Tested & Proven
Jestersage replied to Raptor9's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Speaking of stage and a half: The Decoupler actually allows thrust and heat to go through the ring, so you can actually do a real Atlas Analogue and a Lk-1 analogue (In fact I tested a LK-1 myself) in Kerbin orbit, trying to test the N-1 itself) Based on this, you may even be able to do a mobile launch system (which TBH is useless as it tie to the diameter of the decoupler) -
A KSP Ultimate edition
Jestersage replied to Jestersage's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
If anything, the fact that not many people buy DLC would encourage ultimate edition. Payday2 is a P2P network game, but as long as the host have the DLC, all player can play the map. So not everyone will get DLC if they just want the new missions. By goign Ultimate edition, and charge as it was before, they can actually increase the price in a sense, since you MUST buy DLC. In effect, Stock+ become Stock. This will also make the "stock only" challenge interesting, as it will include DLC if ultimate edition is pushed out with the standard edition removed. -
One of my favorite game is Payday 2, which they eventually baked the DLC into the game. Perhaps TakeTwo should do the same. That way, no one can complain about DLC not being stock.

Realistically, any reaction wheel?
Jestersage replied to Jestersage's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
It was more of trying to figure out whether to install a reaction wheel on the Soyuz clone, since I actually need to add a lot of monoprop onto it. I think I will use the smallest one and then go 10%, keeping it stock. -

Is DLC counted as modded or not?
