  2. What difficulty are you playing on? If you are on easy or normal you just have to wait and they will return to the Astronauts complex or your roster.

  4. I don't want it to be hard, but I have no choice. This drop pod is a baseplate for my next mun (and hopefully minimus) lander :). It is impossible for it to have parachutes. Also, once I get it to the mun, I'll ditc hall airbrakes and just use the engine. That should leave enough dv to land. Thanks for you help!
  5. I can never permakill any Kerbals. Killing and reverting is fine, but never permakill. Sadly, I was testing a 13 Kerbal ship that I had on the launch pad, then had to leave to eat, then went back and launched. The launch failed. 12 Kerbals lost ,and because I had to revisit the shuttle, no revert. RIP Space Taxi 1 crew.
  6. Hi guys! I would like to learn more about the kraken, but I do not know how. What causes some of the krakens to happen, are they reproducible, and where should I go to do my tests? (currently I can go to Kerbin, the mun, and orbit around the sun.) I have a few ideas for tests, but any suggestions are welcome. Also, I could not decide if this should go in the general discussion, or this one, so if it is the wrong one please move it. Thanks!

After space taxi 1 resulted in the worst possible accident ever that I have had happen to me, I completely scrapped it and started a smaller version. This can take 7 Kerbals to Kerbin orbit, possibly (but untested) the Mun's orbit, and back to Kerbin safely.   8. Today, I lost my self esteam. Space taxi 1, which took me 3 weeks to build, has failed and resulted in the biggest loss of life I have had yet . The shuttle was designed to send 13 Kerbals up to Kerbin orbit, and possibly the Mun's as well, then return them. It never left the atmosphere. The shuttle flipped over and crash landed 1km west of the runway. Out of all 13 Kerbals onboard, 1 lived. I built a memorial at the crash site, and have scrapped the project completely until further notice. There will not be a Space Taxi 1 until I regain my self esteam and re-build the shuttle from scratch.
  9. Today I had the largest lost of life yet in my KSP lifetime. Space Taxi 1 was meant to take 13 Kerbals to Kerbin orbit, and possibly the Mun orbit as well. It never got to the atmosphere. The thing flipped over not long after launch and crash landed about 1km west of the launch pad. 1 survivor :(. Memorial to it is in progress, and Space Taxi 1's project has been totally scrapped and is no longer in development till further notice. R.I.P. 97% of my entire group of remaining astronauts and what was left of my self esteam.
  10. ok. Also, is there an advantage to getting 1.3? like new parts or physics? otherwise I'll just wait for the next content other wise to update. 1.1 is fine with me (can't find any bugs )
  11. Hi guys! I downloaded ksp straight from the website for windows when 1.1 had just come out, and now I want to get 1.3 for it. Do I have to reinstall all of my game, or can I just use the launcher and hit "update" to update the game? I would prefer to not have to reinstall my game, so if there is a third way plz tell me.   12. Hi guys! I've started a hunt for all of Kerbin's major easter eggs, like the island air strip (found it ) 1 problem. I keep googling where they are, and the wiki gives me coordinates but I don't know how to put the coordinates into game. Its not under the debug menu like in minecraft :(. Anyone know where to find the coordinates ingame, so I can track down the rest of the things? Thanks!
  13. I have an emergency decoupler betwean the pod and the rest of it. Incase of running out of gas above the ground, it ditches the rest and hopes the structural pylons can take the beating of landing. srry forgot to add that in specs
  14. I'm using 4 airbrakes on the fuel tank, and covering the top and 3 out of the 4 sides (leaving the door open so the rescued Kerbal can get out) with the smaller structural pylons.
  15. Hi guys! I have been trying to make a basic drop pod, so it can be used as an escape pod for my tiny science stations around Kerbin,the sun and the Mun. 1 problem though: without parachutes the things just smash into Kerbin and crash. I am using A.I.R.B.R.A.K.ES and basic LFO engines, but nothing slows it down enough. I really don't want to use parachutes since that takes away the point of a "drop pod" and turns it into "return capsule that anyone can slap together in minutes." Anyone have any suggestions for what I'm doing wrong? Specs for drop pod (pics are not available since imgur doesn't like my PC: 1 mk1 command pod surrounded on all sides except door with structural panel, 1 FL-T200 fuel tank, 1 LV-T30 reliant liquid fuel engine, the most basic fins in the stock game to keep the thing from spinning around on reentry. there is an emergency decoupler betwean the pod and the rest of the thing, and the structural pylons are for incase of needing to land the pod. They take the beating first. Thanks for your help!
  16. Holy Jeb (excuse my Latin) how heavy is that thing?? Also, I like that,so I am going to build it, but before I do, do I have to upgrade the VAD or launch pad for it to work? I have level 2 launch pad but level 1 VAD. Also, would adding radial decouplers (I have that node) make it easier, since it would ditch the solid rocket boosters, making lighter?

  18. Hi guys! I am trying to upload one of my custom ships to www.kerbalx.com, but it says I need the .craft file to do it. Where do I find the .craft file and how do I copy it over to kerbalx? I am using the windows 1.1 version straight from the website. Thanks
