  1. Does trying to put down other people make you feel smart and better about yourself? Cool dude. You obviously can't read because I wasn't complaining about mods not being on console wise guy.
  2. If I was Squad, I would make Flying Tiger do a devnotes on these forums for us console players.
  3. Funny how they mentioned they were in Seattle at an ID@Xbox meeting because the game shouldn't be on the Microsoft store either. I wonder if Squad had a chance to learn about Xbox's early access program, for games that are unfinished and still in development, such as KSP on console.
  4. PC's can run on big monitors, and use controllers. I don't know why somebody would want to play this game from the couch as the text is way too small. I don't personally care about trophies or achievements. PC's also have the ability to capture pictures or videos. Not wanting your kids to be on your nice PC seems like the most valid reason to me. Haha. And you want them to still be able to check out KSP and learn about physics and science. That's cool. I completely understand that. I personally don't see any advantages to KSP on console, although I see lots of advantages to owning KSP on PC.
  5. Thanks for the reply. Information readouts should be a standard. It would make getting into a target orbit a lot easier on console. It might even make things like IVA missions possible. Not sure why I have to switch to the map to get all that info. In my opinion, there are a lot of things that probably should have made it into the base game before they were calling it "finished." I think that vanilla KSP probably could have been and should have been a lot better. I think the vanilla game can look good at times, but overall it looks quite bad compared to modern games, and especially compared to what it can look like with some visual mods. Planet textures are horrible, especially when orbiting. The graphics are generally outdated. It also doesn't run well on console, so it's not like they traded performance for better graphics or anything. You seem to be the only one I have seen on here who actually owns the game on both console and PC. What do you think is the benefit, if any, of playing this game on console, without access to mods, it's game breaking bugs, and with no mouse and keyboard support?
  6. I understand that mods are not coming to console. That wasn't my point. My point was that mods made the game good, while the vanilla game, especially the current broken console version 1.1.0, isn't that good or polished. It's deceiving because what you see isn't what you get what KSP on console. How were we to know that the game was so heavily modded and that it relied on those mods for a majority of the PC player base to enjoy it? I did not know that before I bought the game. What I knew was that the game got really good reviews and that people said that "Squad really listened to the community." Mods not being a part of KSP only happened when KSP came to console, so it was never really an issue before. My point was that if all the sudden PC players were stuck with vanilla KSP v1.1.0, would they enjoy the game and keep playing? The point was that a lot of the mods should probably be in the actual game but because of Squad's decisions to have mods essentially develop their game for them but without getting paid, the actual base game is really lacking. None of us console players knew any of this before we bought the game. Don't you think that for the most of the KSP community, their continued enjoyment of KSP has a little to do with mods? KSP without access to mods simply isn't the same game, and certainly doesn't deserve the same price tag. Mods get more attention from Squad than console KSP because they know how much value that mods add to their game. KSP on console, without access to mods, feels very light on content, and is lacking any such value. As somebody who has access to mods, I am not sure why you are trying to argue, and calling me entitled and misinformed because I was making an observation. It doesn't sound like you are stuck with a broken console v1.1.0 with no access to mods. And KSP isn't just "lazy and bad" because there are no mods. I never said that. There are plenty of reasons that KSP on consoles is lazy and bad, and Flying Tiger is at the top of that list. I really think you missed the whole point of my post.
  7. Being forced to play the broken console 1.1.0 with no mods really shows how bad the actual game is. It has become obvious to me that Squad has used the PC modding community as a pool of free workers. I have never seen a game that so heavily relied on mods to function well. Looking at a list of mods for this game blows my mind. There are currently way more modders working on this game than actual staff, and it seems that is how it always has been. Want the game to look nice? Well you need mods. Want winches? Mods. Computer controlled flight? Mods. Different launch sites? Mods. Earth instead of Kerbin? Mods. More parts? Mods. More realism? Mods. Want more mods? Mods. Everything I want out of this game is available in the form of mods on PC, which I have no access to. Perhaps all this modding is preventing Squad from ever putting anything in their actual game. I think they saw the modders and thought, "Hey, we don't need to actually develop this game ourselves. They are doing it for free." Well, Kudos to the modding community for making such an amazing game, but too bad I will probably never get to play that great game. I wish Squad had cared half as much about their game as the modding community seems to. For those of us who are stuck with the vanilla KSP, version 1.1.0 at that, we are left with a wholly different experience with KSP. What I have noticed from a lot of different comments is that the people on PC like to play this game differently. Mods make that an option. On console with vanilla KSP, we are stuck playing the game one way, which isn't that fun, and it gets old quick. Oh well. If I end up getting a nicer PC in a couple months, I will certainly be checking out KSP again, along with some of the awesome looking mods out there on offer. But KSP on console is just lazy and bad.
  8. Yeah, I know. I had to come here to find out as well.
  9. You don't have to hold left bumper. Tap B on the tank you want to transfer to/from, then click on the top right corner to keep that window up. Then tap B on the tank you want to transfer from/to. Hope that helps.
  10. look what I found on the front page of the Xbox One subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/57o6d9/psa_still_do_not_buy_kerbal_space_program_on_xbox/
  11. I don't think it's "red tape" that's keeping updates delayed on console. Other games don't have these same problems. I think it's fair to say that the port of KSP on console was done poorly by Flying Tiger. It's not the first bad port, and it certainly won't be the last. There are bad ports that go from console to PC as well, so I know this goes both ways. I think that Flying Tiger is the major reason for delays on console. Flying Tiger got in way over their heads with KSP on console, and they have turned it into a disaster. They probably should have and could have been fired for a breach of contract before the game was even released on console, but for some reason, my guess is profits, this game was still released into the marketplace in it's current state. I'm pretty sure we are stuck with Flying Tiger at this point, and that gives us no confidence that the game will ever be fixed. I would not and could not ever recommend this game to somebody on console. Squad and Flying Tiger really dropped the ball with this one.
  12. Nobody from Squad has responded regarding the Xbox One patch not fixing the save issue. It would be nice for them to acknowledge it at the very least. Is this what proving themselves to us looks like? All they are proving is that they aren't capable to solve these issues.
  13. Thanks for your response. I don't think that the PC version is perfect, especially not for some Linux users and people with low end PC's. But at least you guys have access to mods and that in itself makes the game much better. At least you guys have Squad working to solve the issues you face instead of Flying Tiger. I really don't think there is any question that the PC version is better than the console version, for obvious reasons. I do see what you are saying about a 'finished' game though. You bought the game when it was 'finished', 1.0.5, and you are still waiting for it to be 'finished' today. That being said, I would be happy if I could play KSP on PC with mods. That seems like it would be 1000 times better than the console experience, even if the vanilla game still wasn't 'finished.' The game does have such great potential, but the lack of finesse and polish is apparent from the very beginning. I am not hoping for KSP 2.0 from Squad, but rather for a bigger company to take this idea and make a more polished game. I would personally love to see this game take place in our solar system, and with NASA and SpaceX parts and rockets available, maybe even gathering real science data from the around the solar system. Launch sites all around Earth, clouds, etc. Mechjeb seems more realistic than trying to manually steer a rocket into orbit, but of course that isn't in the actual game either. It seems a lot of what I want in the game is even available in the form of mods on PC. From what I understand, it is actually the modders for this game that have contributed the most to it's development. That's kind of sad. It's almost as if Squad relies on the modders(unpaid) to make the game more playable for PC users, as the vanilla game isn't that great and certainly doesn't look that great. I have never seen a game that relied so much on mods. It is nice to have some solidarity in this community though, and I really appreciate your response. There have been some nice PC players like yourself who have tried to help instead of being condescending, so thank you for that.
  14. These save anomalies that Flying Tiger put into the console version are not appreciated. Worst easter egg in a game so far.
  15. Fact: Version 1.1.0 was released on PC on April 19th. Squad released two patches, 1.1.1, and 1.1.2 on April 28th and 30th, respectively. Two months later they got 1.1.3. Version 1.2 was released yesterday on PC. Fact: Version 1.1.0 was released on July 12 on PS4, 2 days later on Xbox One. We are still waiting for a fix after 3 months, still stuck with 1.1.0 with little to no communication about any progress being made. So at this point, PC users are 4 updates ahead of us. There is no news about any updates coming to console. Squad is ignoring us more than ever before with the 1.2 release on PC. The patch that was just released on Xbox didn't even fix the problem it was supposed to fix, and Squad hasn't even acknowledged that. Are there even any plans to get the console version up to date with the PC version? When might that be? It's been 3 months. And what does it take for Flying Tiger to get fired here? Geez. Have some standards please, for your customers sake.
  16. You are failing to see this from our point of view. Seems pretty common here. From your point of view, things look very different, I get it. I just don't think you grasp the situation we are in. It sounds like you are too invested in the actual game to give it or Squad any real criticism. I don't even understand the animosity from PC users here and don't really know where it's based. Some people just can't handle people talking bad about the game that they "love" so much, or maybe they even had a different experience than you and can't comprehend that. Being quiet or "just being patient" as we have been told by a countless number of people at this point is going to help nobody, certainly not us. I do not want Squad to fail, or for KSP to fail. You are way out of line with those accusations. I simply want a game I bought to work as intended. I want Squad to communicate better with their console customers who bought that broken game at full price. I want an actual refund, but they aren't giving those. I hold Squad to the same standards as any other video game company. I am being completely reasonable about my expectations with KSP and I am certainly not out of line for asking if 1.2 was coming out on consoles, considering they never once mentioned a delayed console release for 1.2. People shouldn't lower their standards just because you want them to, or because that would be more convenient for Squad. It doesn't even sound like you are aware of the state of the game on console. Further, all your post has done is to try to diminish the validity of this thread and us console members affected by issues that you aren't. So how are you adding value here? By trying to start an argument? By talking down to us? You trying to teach us a lesson here about what? About your wholly different experience with the game on PC? Another one of "those" guys I guess.
  17. I just saw your condescending posts. Your air of superiority just comes across as arrogance. You sound like you think you are really smart. I can think of numerous companies and ports to console that release updates across multiple platforms pretty close together, usually within a week. In fact, that is the standard, to not treat one platform more favorably than others. Delayed updates on console are to be expected, but nothing like this should ever be expected. Do you realize the game is still broken 3 months after release on console or are you just here to mock us and to argue? I know you are just here to argue, so you won't be getting any more response out of me. If you don't have KSP on console or you aren't concerned about the 1.2 release on console, I am not sure why you thought you would be helping out by being inconsiderate and rude to console customers that you don't know and that share a different opinion than you. That's right, you didn't come here to help, you came here to try to put us down. You are probably just one of "those" guys. Instead of just saying cliches, why not explain how to be "part of the solution" instead of being "part of the problem"? Because I have no idea what you mean. I assume you are implying that I am being "part of the problem" by speaking my mind, so why don't you enlighten us all about this "solution" of yours? Because if being "part of the solution" has to do with me just lowering my expectations or being patient or some nonsense, I am not interested in your solutions.
  18. I don't think there is precedent for this. I guess you could compare it to the release of Payday 2 on console, but that release had tons of bad press, and has really tainted the development company Overkill and their reputation. There has been absolutely no bad press for KSP on console, and the only backlash has been here in these forums, which just gets ignored. I can think of a couple media outlets that would tear the broken mess they call KSP on console to pieces. I think it is pretty clear at this point that KSP on consoles was a money grab. That's the only reason they plan to release on the Wii U. That's the reason that they hired Flying Tiger instead of hiring a competent company or actually porting it themselves. They wanted to do the least amount of work possible, spend as little as possible, and get the highest profits in return. The real cost of course falls back onto us customers, and we are left stuck with a broken game with no possibility of a refund. A petition sound great, but I also think that this game needs to start getting some of the bad press it deserves so much.
  19. From the twitch stream: "Now everybody can download 1.2." Except for console users of course. The official trailer didn't say anything about a PC only release. Squad didn't say anything about a PC only release. Flying Tiger didn't say anything about a PC only release. The language used was that 1.2 would be available to download for KSP on the 11th, which is today. When we ask questions, they just ignore us. Ignoring is the only thing that they are good at it seems. I mean these guys can ignore problems and customer complaints like no other company can. It's amazing and deplorable at the same time.
  20. The Xbox One patch did not solve the save issue unfortunately. Myself and others have still encountered reverted saves, or the game simply not letting us save at all or even go to the space center, forcing us to restart the game and lose progress. I really don't think Squad cares. They have taken the hands off approach when it comes to KSP on console. Although they said they would have to "prove" themselves to the console community after the mistakes at launch, all that they have proven is that they are incompetent at solving these issues and undeserving of our trust or praise.
  21. What a joke. They just straight up ignore their console customers. This is the worst company I have had to deal with, by far. Worst gaming experience without question. I get better customer service from Comcast, who keeps getting the title of "America's worst company." 1.2 is being released today on PC before KSP 1.1.0 on consoles was even working correctly. Squad didn't even bother to tell us that we weren't going to get 1.2 today, or even when we might get it. They do not respect us or regard us with any consideration. They belittle us, treat us as if we were less deserving or less important. We paid the same price as PC players and should not let Squad walk all over us and continually ignore our legitimate grievances.
  22. I don't think that the save issue is solved quite yet. Myself and others have still encountered save issues and other issues post patch. Not being able to save, saves being reverted, more crashing, and other bugs that force you to restart the game, or lose hours of progress, or both. I think I remember someone saying that they wouldn't release it until it was "perfect." That's funny. Also, that whole part of about proving yourself to the community only works when you give them respect and communicate with them when they are pressing you for questions about the broken game you sold them. I have really come to expect the worst from Squad and KSP. You could still prove me wrong Squad. You probably won't, but you could. You could communicate with us and let us know what is going on with KSP on console. There are huge issues on console that Squad hasn't even addressed. The only issue they have addressed is the save corruption and that isn't even fixed it turns out, after three months. I know 1.2 isn't coming out on consoles tomorrow, even though they never communicated that with us. It seems we are stuck with 1.1.0 on console, which never worked well on PC. In three months, not only have we not seen updates 1.1.1, 1.1.2, and 1.1.3, but they have not even fixed the save issues, crashing, SAS, or other console specific bugs. So when I ask Squad when are consoles going to see 1.2, they are just silent. Probably too scared to be honest. Then they might have to issue refunds or something.
  23. I have been having issues with the xbox one patch as well. My game is at a point where every time I try to do something major, there is something that inevitably goes wrong and I usually end up losing hours of work. Doesn't seem like they really fixed the issue. It's actually more like they just put a bandage on a gaping wound. It's getting pretty ridiculous at this point. It seems that we are the real QA testers, and not only are we not getting paid, but we paid them $40 to test out their broken game.
  24. I just had this happen at the astronaut complex as well.
