I've been tuning my AirBus VTOL. Replaced the one vertical tail wing for two to improve the yaw control and added RCS for reverse thrust. The whole process has become quite a challenge as it suddenly became insistent on flipping out every moment. Catering for thrust torque between the three engine modes on this, KSP 1.1.3's aerodynamics, and keeping the aesthetic intact are a nightmare that should've happened when I first built this, or maybe it's a recurring nightmare. The third mode is when the (visible) J Edgar VTOL engines flame out and only the turbos on the cargo tail are working. @LordFerret : D

This. Also, is that Jebediah? And the planet's making a face at us.

Banned for recursive banning.

@Sharpy I really like the wheels on that bus? Are they jittery because the structure is flimsy without struts, or because they're fighting each other?

How do you control the image size when you embed it? I want my pics to be click and zoom too. The engineer team at the Minmus Fab built and launch two of these on the eve of the Jool window. An unmanned one bound to meet the station at Kerbin, with gravity assist from Mün, and this one, with everyone in it, bound for Mün. Everyone's worried... I'd be too if I was in there. The probe core's driving. There's no pilot to comfort them in person. The base here has not been abandoned but it won't be required anymore for a while, and its crew have earned themselves a break from building MaterialKits. Lithia L departs 2 days later, crewed by two pilots and two scientists. From Minmus to Jool, she's "green lining." If I can have her return directly to Minmus then I can call this mission The Green Loop. ...The best that Lithia can do out there, though, is probe the moons inside out and land on Vall. But that's all I need this time around. She's my NX-01. All of the Minmus Fab crew safely arrive at the Missionary Outpost and prepare for their Münion (10? days later). This gentleman, Malfurt Kerman is the first to disembark and man the Oildog to refuel the Saucer, and with that Jebediah can return to KSC. He ought to be crying now as word traveled fast of Lithia's departure. Now we have one large happy team instead of two small lonesome ones. And they're going to be quite happy with what I have planned for them to replace that outpost ...and that oildog with.

@Galileo So, landing on Pol...with SVT installed........ Mother of Squad?! @moogoob I find your mission most fascinating as well. Consider me tuned in.
-
I already have all the others, and I'm afraid of the maker's quote that once you install it you can never play again without it.
-
All the scatter? Or just its own? It's a little scary but not unexpected. I've intentionally avoided stock scatter at times and wished that I could interact with them, for better or worse. So much Win right there.
-
@Red Dwarf how is your kerbal able to stand on the rock? Does Stock Visual Terrain add scatters with collision boxes?

Manaiiiiii! *has seen some of these prior posts* Eddie's Rapiers are turbocharged, eh? By chance do they have a version number now? As for me, I designed a fuel hauler with NearFuture Construction, and finally found a use for Infernal Robotics. I should've fully engineered the robotic arm behind the claw as I still needed to use KAS pipes to refuel the MaterialKits supply lander. In any case that goal is accomplished and the outpost has access to that supply now. Next up, develop a stylish thing to ferry crew between Mun and Minmus. This UFO-based 6-seater translates like a hockey puck and should be able to (not tested yet) make at least 1 round trip from moon surfaces before needing refuel. Jebediah's aching to get away from that outpost and back to the SPH. All he's done for the past kerbal munth is serve in survey stations while Valentina gets to hoard the Mach 6.

Granted, but now you exist in a perfect world where corruption is a foreign word and everything is quote unquote, boring, and without creativity as we know it....... I wish fossil fuel runs out so we can, like actually, make clean-burning fuels mainstream. :U

Banned for friend abuse.

That'd be quite pleasant to have indeed. I have a Mk2 Lithium-fueled cruiser that fits into an extra-large cargo bay, and an SSTO of 1.25m sections that aims to stylishly cling to the back of its mothership, both with shielded ports for noses. The Mk2 cruiser is attached backwards, by its engine via an inline separator. The SSTO is ugly with the unshielded port for its nose and is doomed to meet the fate described below if I try to keep a shielded port for its nose. Another instance of the workaround, the ugliest and the only that's gotten a real mission, gets another mothership to hold its lander with shielded nose in its cargo bay and with proper orientation.... The lander danced with the Kraken several times and ultimately corrupted the mothership. This corruption + the lander's suddenly ceasing its existence, killed everyone in both ships. That made my first ever trip to Eeloo unforgettable to say the least.

Banned for misspelling. It's enforcing.
-
Banned for giving Jebediah a stereotype.
-
;D Banned for making an endless game (the Rubik's Cube) inside an endless game (KSP).
-
Banned for words spoken like a doge on a photo of a cat.

Woahhhhh. That was really epic. Earlier today I revisited an abandoned orbital station design (which kinda resembles Deep Space Nine) in VAB and after some testing, decided that maybe it would be better launched from an EL base on a moon. And I designed another station which intends to be lighter and more aerodynamically sound, and contain primarily NearFuture Modular Octogirder things. Both designs now seem quite bound for success, and I know exactly what to do with both of them.

[WIP] Rald planet/moon addon, basically a terraformed mars
JadeOfMaar replied to KerikBalm's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I've just seen too many of @eddiew's pics and had to come and find the home of that rather beautiful lurking moon. I shall keep this in mind. -
Banned for unfamiliar flag. Expected actual Brazil flag.
-
Banned for stealing my target. (I was just about to ban KAL for having a solid structure on a water world.)
-
Why you! D: Banned for extremely high Enterprise iteration.
-
What's your time split, building vs piloting?
JadeOfMaar replied to Sharpy's topic in KSP1 Discussion
That's me too. Though the red slice could be about the same size as the yellow, and a larger green slice. Your theory sounds solid here. I'm among those who hardly go interplanetary. My unique set of priorities generally include: plotting giant stations or stylish aircraft that handle well in Kerbin's atmosphere, or things that operate in Duna's atmosphere, on fuels other than LFO....and exclude actually/seriously flying to and landing on Duna (or anywhere). I'm exceedingly fussy about getting things just right and that holds me back. -
Banned for negligence!
