  1. I'm playing on Xbox in sandbox mode with the heavy duty landing struts and I was touching down on the mun at less than 1m/s, as for the wheels, I'm talking about the all terrain rover wheels that seem to explode just by placing them on the tarmac of the runway to test back at the space centre
  2. Don't know if this is a bug or not. Firstly, when I land on the mun, regardless of how gently I touch down, some or all of my landing gear explode! This has happened several times. Secondly, I've been trying to build medium sized mobile modules to expand my mun base but whenever I test them weird vibrations destroy my tires within seconds and on one occasion exploded the front wheel Any thoughts?
  3. A bit small fry compared to you lot but I've accomplished quite a bit yesterday, I finally landed on the mun and returned my faithful Kerbalnaut home, then I managed a second landing just over 200m from the first. Then i attempted to land a fully assembled mun base from orbit (partial success) don't know if I hit the surface too hard or if my landing gear wasn't level but half of it exploded on touch down. (The landing gear not the base) on to the next challenge
  4. Hi, I'm currently playing on Xbox one so please consider this before suggesting mod that are currently unavailable to consoles. As many of you know, when constructing large vessals in orbit, that manoeuvres can be throw off substantially by the flexing of docking ports so a more secure join would significantly improve many designs. I was thinking along the lines of a one use permanent interlocked port that cannot be separated once connected, also a way of connecting struts and fuel lines whilst in space would also be helpful. I've also noticed the difficulties in refueling, or transferring other resouces from surface bases, and a landing pad module could help with this. This module would be placed on top of a base and when deployed would expand the surface area to twice the diameter (1.5m>3m, 2.5m>5m etc)to allow for landing legs and once landed it would allow for cross feed of resources. Obviously this module would have to be heat resistant to withstand the wash of the rocket engines but perhaps with a limit so that if you take a long time to land you risk damaging the pad
  5. I don't know if this is a technical issue or my own incompetence. I was launching a probe into orbit carrying some construction materials to my new space station, first stage, no problem, decouple of external fuel tanks also no problem, but when I stage for the third time I find my focus is still on the now expended twin boar engine while the probe with its poodle engine and payload shoot off into the distance. And of course, I can't even switch because I'm still in the atmosphere! Ive not had this problem before today and I've not changed the way I put my rockets together so I'm at a loss
  6. Great, any idea when this might be? Since it's just done it again, I'm back to the same spot, all other saves gone, until this is fixed I essentially can't play the game
  7. First of all, I'm a big fan of this game, but if someone don't pull their finger out and fix some major bugs to some very basic functions, I'm gonna be asking for a refund! 1) control from here. I was attempting to launch 2 docked craft from Kerbin orbit to the mun, I selected control from here on the main craft and transferred all crew over, yet when I began my manoeuvre, both crafts fire up their engines in opposite directions and I was then unable to shut them down forcing me to back out and reload at which point: 2) 4 hours of progress is wiped. This has happened on multiple occasions, I play the game, quick saving at every opportunity, and then the game suffers a crash and when reloaded all my progress is gone and it's reverted to a previous point This happens with both in-flight quick save and named saves from the space centre. I've also noticed these types of bugs happen more often as I progress through the game, early on they happened very rarely. Additionally, I've just spent 15mins searching the bug tracker to find where I report these with no success so I am report it here, I'm sure someone can move it to the appropriate place
  8. Maybe I'm just dull, but with all the info included, I can't seem to figure out how to report a bug!
  9. So I managed to land on the mun, but I didn't do it very economically. I've managed to reach mylar orbit but I now need a lift, is there a way of recovering a capsule from Mubarak orbit that doesnt have a docking port?
  10. Wow! Thanks snark, that's alot of info to get through, didn't realise you could do reports on the ground, I'll try the rover idea for defo, only need about 7 science to unlock the thermometer. Will share my tech tree when I get home but for now I'm on the 4th level with 4 options open
  11. That's all well and good, but how am I supposed to get to these biomes, if I can't unlock the tech needed?
  12. I only bought the game last week and have been playing in science mode but I'm having trouble earning science points. I've done the mystery goo, and the science bay, plus crew reports and Eva reports but now I'm not earning any as the results are just duplicate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
  13. Greetings! Just recently bought the game on x1and am enjoying it immensely! Although, does anyone know a good remedy for brain strain? Already had several failed missions due to angle of accent or fuel levels but this morning I managed to actually get into orbit while still having enough fuel for the decent! Lol, still have 1 Kerbalnaut stuck up there due to that miscalculation, I've noticed a bit of salt on this forum from some console users which, so far, I've seen no justification for, though I'd admit this game isn't for everyone. Personally, I look forward to spending many fun filled hours elevating my Kerbal to greatness....or possibly martyrdom
