  1. I'm trying to make a planet mod that repositions Kerbin into orbit around a temperate gas-giant. However, every time I run the game, the Space Center doesn't show up. Here's my code: I checked if Kerbin loaded in the tracking station, and it did. However, the Space Center doesn't load. Can somebody please explain what I'm doing wrong and how to do it correctly?
  2. Are all planet maps made with HeightColorMap, or is there another way to generate a color texture using PQS? Also, can we have a tutorial on how to use LandControl?
  3. Happy Eclipse Day!!!!! I spent the last month working on a planet-pack mod, and I figured that today would be a good time to release it. This planet pack removes all planets and moons expect for Minmus, The Mun, and Kerbin. It replaces the stock system with 2 Gas-Giants and 4 terrestrial planets. This mod also spawns in asteroids to mimic the asteroid belt, NEO's, and debris orbiting within the ocean moon Uulmo. The various planets were named after characters from J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings and The Silmarillion. As a reminder, this mod requires Kopernicus. Use the version of Kopernicus for your version of KSP Download Eru Planet Pack here: https://kerbal.curseforge.com/projects/eru-planet-pack The planets in this mod are : Melkor and its moon Sauron Aule and its moon Durin Lorien and its moon Celeborn Uulmo and its moons Numenor and Imrahill Tulkas and its asteroid moon Theoden Manwe and its moons Thranduil, Fangorn, and Varda Valinor and its moons Elros, Feanor, and Maia. Here are some pictures of planets in the mod:
  4. I was trying to make an ocean planet from textures I made from PQS exports. I can't seem to get it make an actual liquid ocean. Here's what I have right now: The result looks like this: Looks a little cheesy right now, but I'm going to edit the color texture as soon as I get the ocean working. Am I missing something in the config?
  5. I'm curious about the altitude definitions in HeightColor map. Are the altitudeStart and altitudeEnd parameters in meters or kilometers?
  6. Is there a way to make the planets rotation axis tilted? I was working on a Uranus analog, and I wanted to make one that span on its side.
  7. Looks like a very detailed pack. Does this remove the entire Kerbol system or does it add to it like OPM? Also, were all of these planets made only with PQS Mods, or did you use SpaceEngine or GIMP as well? Also, most of the moons have a reddish color about them. Could you change the overall color to bluish or greenish for a few of them to add variety?
  8. There is a big difference between science and politics. One is based in facts and the other is based in opinions. Mike Pence ACTUALLY TOUCED THE SPACE HARDWARE! It's also true that Mike Pence just doesn't agree with the majority of scientists today, especially on the environment . . . What I was suggesting is that there would be a Kerbal that would negatively affect some of your science yields while increasing funding. The magnitude may depend on what contracts you have selected, what strategies you are using, what parts you have on your rocket, etc . . Yes, I kerbalized his name and it, coincidentally, turned out to be an anti-Semitic slang word. The irony there is obvious, no matter which side of the political spectrum you sit on. Thank you @razark for pointing our my mistake. I will be more careful when kerbalizing words in the future. Now that I think about it, the next update should contain a mod that occasionally causes parts to fail, because, lets be honest, rockets only break if they're poorly designed or if they are badly flown. In real life, they tend to do something called exploding, even if the design works often. Then, when the part fails, a picture should pop up on the screen that shows Mike Pence Kerbal touching the critical space hardware. We should also have ridiculous mandatory contracts that say that Donald T. Kerman wants us to go to Duna by his second term at worst. Then, since the contract is impossible to accomplish in real life, you fail and loose lots of reputation and money. The thing that KSP is lacking is politics. Politics plays a greater role in the space program than science. So, there should be random elections in the game, and various Kerbal administrations alter funding, contracts, and priorities, therefore making the game more realistic. Just my opinion as a member of the National Space Society. Face it man, politics has DEFINED the space program. Every administration changes what NASA's goals are; that's called politics.
  9. I learned that if you play BD Amory, and your cockpit gets severed from the rest of your plane, that you can still survive the fall if your landing gear is still attached to your cockpit. What you do is extend your landing gear, and point it to the ground! If your plane is light enough and if you have enough bounce on your springs, it will work!
  10. The letter was the first letter of the word, not random. I was just trying to make fun on the Vice President and imagine him Kerbalized. Sometimes Irony can slap you in the face.
  11. OK, didn't know that . . . Just trying to Kerbalize Pence, wasn't trying to offend anybody. I now know that you should never trust the loading hint "Adding K to every word".
  12. I think there should be a Kerbal Named Kike Pence that touches all your flight hardware and will reduce science yields. Also, The Jool system is not representative of the outer solar system. There needs to be an ice-giant planet. Also, as a devout "Pluto-Hater" I want Squad to make a bunch of KBO objects, and name one Brown, and the other Tyson. you can get rid of the multiple star problem by creating a black hole that all the stars orbit around.
  13. I noticed that "NewMod" is where "KOPERNICUS" usually is in planet configs. Is the actual spelling for the name of my mod folder in all caps, or is it okay to leave lowercase letters.
  14. Does this delete Duna and Dres, or does it delete all the planets except Duna and Dres?
  15. I've had some experience with making planets in Kopernicus, but I'm getting a little bothered by the stock planets and want to make a mod that keeps Kerbin and its moons while replacing all the other stock bodies with my own planets. Is there a way to do this?
  16. Version 0.4 is out. Rooe has two new moons, Elrond and Galadriel. Mithrandir still changes from shiny to drab when you get really close ( it is still a problem ). Luune, a small, distant gas-giant is now out. It has one Moon: Manwe. Here are some Pics: http://imgur.com/a/95l2c http://imgur.com/a/Ocrqu http://imgur.com/a/m4lvv The mod should be out on Curse in a few hours. Note that I removed Valeon, because even though the config file is working, KSP won't allow maneuvering in orbit. All the new objects were made in SpaceEngine.
  17. Hello You may remember me from the development of the Heidon Mod, which added in 3 gas giants and many moons. Now, my team of modders will begin working on a new planetary system that will completely replace the stock KSP system with a variety of worlds. I have just begun work on the mod, and have no pics to share at the current time. Please leave any comments if you have any suggestions; we will gladly listen to your ideas, and they may even be implemented into the mod. - UranianBLue
  18. that's a render bug unique to Jakis, the color map keeps showing up like tylo, no matter what I do.
  19. It's a KSP mechanism that lets you code up your planet's surface using random seeds and various functions. Then, using Kittopia, you export the planet textures and incorporate those into the Scaled Space. Take a look at Mithrandir's code.
  20. The level 1 runway in the new version is pretty bumpy. So bumpy that I can't even take off without the plane crashing.
  21. I draw the gas-giant textures in GIMP and generate the moon textures using PQS.
