  1. Could we have an inline 1.25m container? Currently if I want to have a crew craft with cargo it requires more storage than I want, and the current small container is hard to integrate into designs with it looking good. You could just scale down the larger one and change the name and stats. If it isn't that easy don't worry.
  2. Okay, thanks for confirming. And yes, I can imagine why they wouldn't want to implement this too soon
  3. Looking at the vacuum terrier and poodle engines, they seem to have a very low expansion ratio, and the lower isp engines have a larger expansion Ratio. Excuse me if I am wrong, but isn't that the opposite of how it works? The rhino seems to have it a bit better. Though on the thread: The models seem to make more sense. I just want to see 'proper' expansion ratios, or different engine models that prove they are the proper sizes.
  4. How does the current SAS system work? What causes it to mess up your attitude when you try to correct it? If anyone could post the code that would be nice since I don't have access to KSP (I'm not a programmer and have limited knowledge of it, I just want a basic idea). Does it just correct your attitude every X amount of time? Could it instead correct your rotation/trim based on rotation? This feature could be useful while accelerating with misaligned CoM/CoT, like maybe with a mothership with long ion burns
  5. Kindustrial Revolution Kames Watt: For centuries the kerbals had been living in a world without electricity or machines other than solid rocket boosters. Due to the lack of other in-game materials on Kerbin, there weren't even gas or oil lamps. Historians have long wandered what they got up to during this period but most suggest that this time simply didn't exist and/or before the Kindustrial Revolution the kerbals entertained themselves by setting each other on fire with 'fleas' and making 1000 degree knife experiments about anything but what the title suggests they are about. This is called the Pyro-Clickbait Theory and is widely respected. But, after a 'trip to the east' in one of the Kritish Empire's Kolonies (really it was just a trip to the local corner shop to buy a sophisticated-looking pipe), Engineer Kames Watt published a paper on 'steam power'. He thought of the idea on a nice summer's day with a warm summer's breeze. But then he remembered that there was no summer breeze because coding difficulties the laws of physics didn't seem to allow for it. It was then that he thought about his favourite pastime, blowing up passing lunatics with a solid rocket booster. He reminisced about one particular incident: a slightly purple man was walking past, smelling rather a lot. He pressed spacebar lit a match and ignited the rocket and he watched as the man was literally blown away by it. He decided that this, paired with a turbine, could power vehicles. Later Mikal Faraday and Sir Karles Parson worked together to generate and utilise electricity Note: I may not continue with these ones about pre-aerospace activities, as they are less enjoyable to write, and I suspect that they are less enjoyable to read also. Added pics of the SFELP-1 . Sorry if this combines the first and second revolutions a bit...
  6. I was building a small craft from scratch (straight from KIS container with no pre-launched root part) on the Mun surface. While it had sufficient communications, power and a probe core it couldn't launch. Is this something that can't be done, and if not could it (at all/easily) be added as a feature? This is something I think would be cool to be able to do. This was a while ago and I have since recycled the parts but I could try to recreate for pics.
  7. I may also make some of the mentioned craft, though don't expect much. I don't know if you really want pictures on these threads, but I will edit my previous post to contain a picture of SFELP-1. Right now I don't have time to build it though, but hopefully I can get it up in a day or two.
  8. I ask the @MinimalMinmus's permission to write about the Viktorian Era and the Kindustrial Revolution in similar style to Origins of Life and Extra-Terrestrial Activity Love your Encyclopedia so far
  9. I though it was the vicinity of Betelgeuse . And that's a tall kerbal . Have fun
  10. Mission 2: CS-01 and Minsat-A Objective: Place a commercial sat in orbit and set up a Minmus communications network Craft: KSat+ OBL-M1 Stage Launcher: MLA-2R 'Storm' Order of Operations: Launch craft to orbit>Recover launcher>Separate commercial sat and place in specified orbit>Transfer craft to Minmus>Release 1 sat in 100km orbit>Release the other sats after two orbits of 3/4 the orbital period Images: Minsat-02 in orbit Result: Success; booster recovered, contact completed and communication network partially set up Trying to cut down on the amount of pictures now. Avoiding recovery pictures, though I will normally add one splashed down/landed. Mission 3 will land on minmus, though it may be pushed back
  11. I hope you don't mind this too much. So it doesn't get in anyone's way, it is in a spoiler. Extra-terrestrial activity and the origins of life on Kerbin:
  12. Well, I found this thread: And this one: So yeah
  13. (Tell me if there is already one of these threads) Here you can speculate how the kerbolar planets came to be how they are and where they are. Any alien intervention/ presence during the formation can be considered... To start off, maybe Eeloo used to be one of Jool's moons, but got ejected out by another Jool moon such as Tylo or Laythe... Questions for you: (Easter eggs in spoiler) Was/ is there life on Laythe? How did it get there? Why did it die out? Where does life on Kerbin come from?
  14. My guess is Pia-NO I wonder if the trumpet has good aeroDYNAMICS We should stop before he loses his tempo If I think of anymore puns I'll be Bach Lets hope he doesn't get band
  15. If the scaling continues, we're going to hit A Major catastrophe And then we'll B in treble
  16. Here is my single module minmus station. Has a 2 kerbal lander can, science lab, comms and solar equipment and an airlock.
  17. You may have posted this somewhere before, but did you make these craft on career or sandbox mode? Love your craft BTW, good balance of simple, aesthetically pleasing and, from what I can see, functional.
  18. Mission 1: KSO-01 Objective: Transfer lab module to Minmus Craft: OBL-L2 (Launched), KS-C1 'Atlas' Launcher: MLA-2RB (to be recovered) Order of Operations: Launch-Sep-Orbit-First stage recovery-Sep-Docking-Stage 2 recovery-Transfer to Minmus Stage 1: Stage 2: Docking and Minmus Transfer: OBL-Min Result: Success. Both stages recovered. Minmus communications network to be set up. Next Mission: Satellite launch Adding those pictures took a while. I may stick to albums for now.
  19. What is the easiest way to move this to the spacecraft exchange? Or is this post in the right place?
  20. Mission 1 will come shortly. Today or tommorow. I did attempt it earlier but with 2 stages to be reused and low fuel margins I decided to install FMRS. It will be to transfer a pre-launched Orbital Labs Module (OBL-L2) to Minmus orbit. Mission 2-3 will be launching the crew/service module and landing module to orbit, and landing on minmus. I plan to return science to the lab module to be processed. Mission 4 will launch a contract sattelite/s, though I do not yet have a good launcher with a reusable sattelite stage. Mission 5 may test launch a refueller for the KS-C1 'Atlas' transfer module.
  21. A bit late. Elon Musk plans to send the Red Dragon to Mars in three years. He got that 2020 vision
  22. Welcome to my Career Save. After hundreds of hours of KSP, I still have never really gotten anywhere with career saves. It went like this: I would start a new career, do a few things, get science and get bored and start a new one. I even did it with sandbox. But now I feel I am really getting into a career save. I call it the United Kerbdom Korperations. Here are my craft: Launchers: Station Modules: Landers: Bases: Mun Base Alpha
