'Eight Months, Eight Days...' It seemed like forever. First, they had done the check of everything. Then, they were going to Duna. Then, they were orbiting Kerbol. 'Why are we orbitng Kerbol! The Drive engine was to take us to Duna!' Jonlong asked repeatedly to Nacy and Jeb. 'If we do a slingshot manoeuvre around Kerbol, we can gain enough velocity to arrive at Duna in as little as three months' Nacy responded. 'But what about the heat! I don't wanna fry!' 'The heat tiles can protect us from 7000 degrees of heat, so we're perfectly safe'. https://photos.app.goo.gl/2Lr6oH7mwhnfEnEe2 It had worked, and the velocity gained had covered 2 thirds of the journey. 'KSC, we're on our way to Duna, and the idea by Kimry Kerman helped us a lot'. Now, they just had to wait. Jeb went to the bathroom. Nacy read a book. Jonlong started making a map of the area, so his family could know where he went each day. Catla alternated between playing games and writing in her journal, which she guarded ferociously.

'K.S.S Valiant' 'Right, transferring to the Valiant now. The probe core will take our ship home, and we'll set a course for Duna' Nacy, who was studying the mission portfolio, told them all once they had gone inside the 'Waiting Bay' on KerbPort. 'Look at it! It's arriving now! It's big!' Catla, apparently the silent one up until now, had told them. Indeed, it was big. https://photos.app.goo.gl/qwDl2sGOZ1k05cG72 The K.S.S Valiant would be their 'mothership', taking them to Duna and back. It had everything that they needed: rovers in the cargo bay, a ground base that could be assembled once landed, small space probes to orbit Duna and relay communications, and of course, eight years worth of snacks and Jool-Aid. Since it was too big to dock, the crew had to instead EVA into the vessel. Jeb went first, of course. https://photos.app.goo.gl/VFfZWAzXJODsYnUS2 'Right, opening the hatch now!' Jeb entered through the EVA hatch, and was enveloped in the cargo bay. 'They're not lying when they say that it's big!' Then, within five minutes, they were all onboard. 'It even has a cup holder!' 'Ooh! Viewing gallery! Telescope!' Indeed, when Space Command told them that they would be in maximum comfort for the roughly 8 months journey to Duna, they meant it. After the crew had become accustomed to their new home, Catla throttled up the engines and they were off. https://photos.app.goo.gl/crOEM23fgA5NcuAr2

NOTE: PHOTOS ARE LINKED FOR EASIER VIEWING AS EMBEDDING CAUSES ISSUES CHAPTER 1: K.S.S Valiant The EVA From Hell The Mystery Of Monban Station, Or How Jeb Wasted Millions In Five Minutes Icy Ike, But Catla Wants Ike-Cream The Duna Descent Work, Work, Work Home Away From Home Exploration, Part 1 Exploration, Part 2 Shuttling All The Way Icy Ike, But Catla Gets Ike-Cream A Grey Turn Of Events CHAPTER 2: Hello To Nowhere, Part 1 Hello To Nowhere, Part 2 It all happened one day... Jeb, Nacy, Catla, and Jonlong set out for the 'big orange thingy' in the sky. Boarding the 'Vixen', they soared through the atmosphere and into space, leaving Kerbin behind. It was going to be a long time... https://photos.app.goo.gl/KEjxauXMc7oocOSi1 'Yippee! I'm going to space!' Jonlong blurted out. It had been his first time in space. In no time, they had reached a stable, 97 - 103km orbit, and could rest for a few hours. https://photos.app.goo.gl/CLJcLdsa3r6mIVig1 'Hold on, we need to dock with KerbPort to resupply and refuel', Nacy, who was the mission commander, instructed them. 'But until them, we can float around in here, if you want'. 'Yay!' Jonlong enthusiastically replied. Soon, they broke out the cans of Jool-Aid, Crater-Cookies, and of course, snacks, and were floating around the crew cabin. After what seemed like five minutes (it was really five hours), Nacy informed them to get ready for docking. 'Docking in 1 minute, open port'. '30 seconds, Jeb, engage RCS'. Jeb engaged the RCS, and small white puffs came from the thrusters. 'And....we're docked!'. https://photos.app.goo.gl/tpTYwoLMwNJZqvYP2 Now, they would refuel and re-supply, switch to another craft (The 'Valiant'), and be on their way to Duna.

I present to you, the new 'R-1 Falcon V/STOL Shuttle'! The Falcon prepares for takeoff!Engines engaged, it soars into the air above! And, lands again after a successful test flight! -
I just found out the way to make my images show up! I just go to an image that I have, right click, select 'copy', and then paste it in the forums! Yippeee!!!
-
And how do you do that? TEST IMAGE, TELL ME IF YOU CAN SEE IT! ANOTHER TEST IMAGE, TELL ME IF YOU CAN SEE IT!
-
What other sites. What other sites can I embed the images in. Photobucket's used for embedding images in posts. Other sites only allow you to upload images to them, and copy the links to the images, not actually show the images in your post. is that the swear filter?

I've had numerous flights where I fly spaceplanes using Mk2 and Mk3 parts. When things go wrong, and I want to eject the command module or something, I can't put a small stack separator or decoupler between the fuselage and cockpit. It creates a weird gap between them. So, wouldn't it be better for the addition of Mk2 and Mk3 decouplers or separators that lie flush with the fuselage? Thoughts on this idea?

You know when you're flying a plane or rocket or rover, and something starts to go wrong. You know, when it will not pitch up, or your wings get torn off, or you lose a tail fin or engine. Or, when a stage fails to separate. You pretty much have only 3 options (two, if you've disabled the feature): Accept your eventual doom or try to get down safely, click 'revert flight' if you have that enabled, or quit to the space center, knowing that it will give you the 'last save was -time- ago, returning will revert it'. But, what about the 'Abort' button? What 'abort' systems do you have in place for the safety of your crew? Do you EVA and hope for the best? Do you separate the command module? Or do you have other systems to save your precious Kerbals. Anyway, tell me your abort systems.

If you haven't noticed recently, Photobucket's updated it's terms of service. Photobucket was the most common website for embedding images in forums. You would make an account, upload a picture, and embed the image in your forum post or blog or whatever. That was it's strong point for 14 years (after being created in 2003). 10 billion images have been embedded in sites, with the people using photobucket to do it. Now, they've asked us to pay $40 a month, or $400 a year to embed our images. Those 10 billion images have been replaced by an image of 'Photobucket's terms have changed. Please upgrade your account to allow third party hosting'. eBay, Amazon, and other sites have been affected by this, and it seems stupid to do it when they are competing with Imgur, Flickr, and Google Photos for popularity and profit. So, what's your thoughts on this? Are they committing corporate suicide? Are they holding people to ransom? What do you think? (My images got affected, the ones of a B9 passenger jet)
-
Ok. I was asking the question after Photobucket, the most common image-embedding website, changed it's terms so that people have to pay $40 a month or $400 a year for images to be embedded in posts.

Quick question Cydonian, what image site do you use to embed the images in your posts?

Hi, I downloaded TweakScale. Unfortunately, from where I checked (KSP Forums page, Curse, etc), they had no installation instructions. The mod's folder didn't include install instructions, either. So, how do I properly install TweakScale?
-
The title says it all, really. So, what's the post with the highest view count, or most number of posts on it?

Hearing the news of KSP on the Xbox and PlayStation, I went to the Xbox Store. Searching for KSP, I got nothing. I switched my Xbox's location to the US, and searched for KSP, and it was there, available in store for purchase. So, this means that people in the US can get the console version of the game, but people in Australia can't. So SQUAD, and Flying Tiger Entertainment (the company which ported the game to console), when will you be planning to release the game on console to Australia and the rest of the world?

Seeming as I use B9, I spent last night creating a small service/utility spaceplane. I use it to ferry small amounts of cargo to places (other ships, colonies, space stations), or swap out the cargo bay for a crew cabin, seating 4. I docked with my newly-launched space station in orbit, to transfer the crew. See it here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/WpsDtcmKpAlp6eOt2 -
Yes. What once was a simple question on the dates of some posts, has now become a topic for talking about the history of early computers...

Isn't that computer like one of the first to have a screen or something? Wasn't it in a lab, when they were first making computers? And I mean 'commercially available' computers, that people could buy from stores. Ok, thanks. So that's why the posts are on Jan 1 1970. Thanks!

Hi all, I just went to the last page of most topics, and found some posts, and when I read the dates, they were 'January 1, 1970'. Obviously, the internet didn't exist in 1970. KSP didn't exist. The creator of KSP didn't exist, either. So, how can there be posts from 1970? The first post was from HarvestR, or Felipe Falanghe (The glorious man who gave us this great game), and it's dated on January 1, 1970. But then, if the internet, KSP, Felipe, and 'computers' (computers that had screens and inputs, like the late 1980s and 1990s), then how come there's several posts from the 1st of Jan 1970? Could someone explain this to me???

I created an 'A-2 Heavy Shuttle' using B9, and if you care, you should notice that on some photos there are three engines, and on others there are five. That's because the original configuration was one big 2.5m engine, with a quad of RAPIERS. The thrust to weight was really bad, and it lacked speed and performance. I landed it somewhere, and switched the back end out for three 2.5m engines, and no RAPIERS. This made it extremely powerful, and I was reaching 800m/s in about 5 minutes (with a space station module in the cargo bay!) View the pics here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/M3ahVudR9eZxehgo1 -

I can't remember, but it's called an 'orbital supercollider'. It just looked cool, I guess! -

Here's some pics of 'Pegasus Station', a giant ring station in orbit of Kerbin. I took a shot of a Kerbal on EVA to show you how big this thing is. I've also got 'Valkyrie Station' orbiting Laythe, and smaller stations on moons (not battle stations the size of moons!). View them here: https://goo.gl/photos/Vita16MY68e4Ypc66 -

This is my 'L-1 Airline/Cargo Jet', using the S2 fuselage. For some reason, it can do a FULL loop at 60M/S. And.....photobucket changed it's terms, so I have to pay $3.00 a month for it to appear on the forums. Can't use imgur, it's blocked, can you share photos on dropbox?
