I know this is the place to come for brilliant ideas, so... I'm ready to build a tank farm extension off of my already huge space station. A few years ago, I remember seeing an enormous tank farm, stacks and rows of different fuels and materials, in a video like the one I want to build, but I can't remember where or details of how it was constructed. Can anyone here recommend some examples that might inspire? TIA

Very interesting info. I understand that addressing it with code is likelymore difficult than i had hoped. All I know with certainty is this procedure has worked everytime its been tried for many years by multiple players. In my personal experience, there have been no emergent tangential problems resulting from it. None have been reported to me by others as well. Yes, if applied quickly, this procedure has worked well when the shaking is beginning to be noticeable, but I've made it a habit to apply it proactively as part of my un/docking method. As a result, I have not even had a craft begin to shake in many years. As far as I'm concerned, the results speak for themselves. Please understand that my ego is not rolled up in this. I just want to help the community overcome one of the most game breaking causes of frustration and wasted time. If anyone is interested, I'd love for others to try it, see what their experience is with it, and report back with the results. I don't see any downside to giving it a shot. -

That would be the best option, a true fix, instead of a work around. However, I reported this info to Squad support for years, and didn't get a single reply. Sounds like the perfect test of my suggested method. Can't hurt. I just want this game breaking problem to finally be eliminated for everyone, one way or another. -

I've never captured an asteroid of built the kind of ship you referenced, but I used to have craft shake themselves to pieces quit often. Out of pure frustration, at one point I completely stopped even playing for arounda year. I'm not a coder, so I could well be wrong about the cause. Perhaps, there could be different conditions that trigger the bug. What I do know with certainty is this fix has worked every time it's done. Give a shot. We've got nothing to lose, and it saves a lot of wasted hours. -

I'll figure out a way to get that for you. I suppose I can do a separate install. Round stations seem to really invite this problem. . I'm not a coder, so perhaps I'm wrong about the cause, but the solution is great. I'll be in touch. Thanks. -
You are correct. Just because a mod has not been updated in a long time, does not mean it won't work. I used RCS Build Aid today. I'm running 314 mods in KSP1, and some of them have not been updated in years.

Here's handy fix for the Kraken Death Shake. Years ago, I discovered a way to prevent/fix the Kraken Death Shake. I and some others have been doing this for years, and so far it has worked 100% of the time. Ive never had a credible report of failure. I tend to build very large/complex ships, and I have not lost a single ship this way in over 6yrs. The problem seems to stem from multiple sources of torque facing different directions. When two ships are combined, it appears that a new point of control is not automatically assigned. As a result, they start fighting each other to face the craft in their respective direction/plane, and it leads to destruction. There is no need to spam struts, or turn off SAS, or go around disabling a bunch of reaction wheels. All you have to do is: When you dock two craft, immediately designate a specific control point ("Control from here"). It doesn't matter what part you choose. It will not affect the function of the ship. If you come into physics range of a craft, and you see it is already beginning to shake, quickly designate the control point, and the shaking will begin to abate. If the shaking is already dangerously violent, you should warp for a second or two to stop the physics. Then, come out of warp, and quickly designate the control point. When undocking, it is wise to immediately repeat the procedure for both craft. It's just a part of my standard approach to docking now. I would appreciate it if you let me know how it works for you. I have tried to find a modder who will write a small mod to do this automatically at every un/docking, but no luck so far. If you know a modder who is willing to give it a shot, please put them in contact with me. All I ask is for some recognition in the name. It would be a tremendous benefit to the entire community. -
Try using the 2KAN mod manager. Some of my mods wouldn't load thru Bepinex/Space Warp. With 2KAN they load just fine. I have no idea why.

Hi guys, First, thanks for your work. People like you are making KSP2 actually playable. I cannot get K2-D2 to work, no matter what I do. I have followed the instructions you gave. When I drag the bepinx folder that extracts from you zip file to the game directory, it is properly picked up and placed in the bepinx\plugins folder. When I start the game, it is not listed in the Mods menu, Alt-O doesnt open it, and it is not in the app bar. Any ideas?

This is a great mod, but a nice feature to add to this would be hiding orbits of all vehicles but the active one. The map gets super cluttered with all of them showing needlessly. There was a mod for this in KSP1 called Too Many Orbits, but so far it's not been updated for KSP2. This would be a very handy QoL option.

I kinda arrived at the same conclusion. Ive been watching videos, trying to learn a bit about it. Can you tell me tho, will KOS instructions run unattended, like when I'm working on something else far away, like the RT flight computer? If it won't, KOS won't work for me either. Is anyone aware of a flight computer mod, or feature in the game, that provides a flight computer similar to the one included with the Remote Tech mod. I'd like to have a way for ships to perform planned maneuvers, such as node adjustment burns, that have been pre programmed into it earlier, yet unattended at the time. For example: When setting up a comms relay network around a planet, there are at least three satellites to be deployed. The initial orbits of each one can often be less than perfect. Is there a way to program each satellite to make the appropriate correction burns by themselves, unattended, while I'm doing something else? The flight computer in Remote Tech is amazing, but I'm not using that this time. Anyone?

A few years ago I discovered a 100% fix for the Kraken death shake, that too frequently destroys our work. It's simple, when docking two craft, immediately assign a new control point. Choose any part that has the option "control from here", and assign it. I'm trying to find a modder to help me create a mod/plugin to do this automatically. I'm wondering if doing this approach for bases might have the same effect. Before leaving a base you've been working on, assign a specific control point, and see what happens next time it loads. If you try this, please let me know if it works. Still gathering data on the procedure.

Hi all, I am playing KSP 1.8.1, and it's pretty heavily modded. Everything seems to be working great so far, except the KAS pipes. This seems to be the only thing that doesn't work for me. The Kerbalnaut I'm using is a maxed out engineer, and is equipped with the electric drill. I am able to pull items from inventory and attach them to surfaces with no problem. However, as seen in the attached pic, when I right click on the JS1 ports I get no menu options for linking to others. This is the first time I've tried this, so given that everything else seems to work fine, I'm inclined to believe the problem is my lack of experience. I'm not sure what logs are required for this, so here is is a link to everything that seemed relevant. First, I want to say, this is my favorite base mod in KSP. It's the only one that looks like it is an intentional, planned, well established base, instead of a collection of temporary components brought together. I would like to suggest a new, component of the same design that performs the logistics hub functions as those in the USI/MKS series. I would love to be able to fulfill all those functions with the PBS collection. If there already is a PBS component that fulfills the logistics hub functions, I am unaware. -
Thanks for the response, Corax. I was aware of that feature, but seems I remember using it before as a stand-alone part, that could be added to any other component, for example like the BZ-52 Attachement Point. Am I confusing it with something else?

Hi Paul, I love this mod. One of the most practical and useful I've found. Here's a suggestion. Have you considered adding things like a compatible ISRU refinery, drills, ore bags, etc? This would add a whole new level of play-ability to the game in general. It would also reflect the relentless progression of technology as time passes. Please keep up the good work.
